Even a dealership wanted a fortune to get it made by the manufacturer with a long wait for delivery. Then I spotted X Locksmith in the halls of the Watertown Mall, just across from the Registry. I was not expecting a positive answer, especially since the "shop" isn't even a building. It's a couple of counters and a display case. They service all kinds of sexy newer cars, but they did not for a second hesitate to help with my "old lady" car. I recently lost one of my keys and decided to get a couple of replacements. George is still terrific. No problem that it's an older car. In less than an hour he cut and programmed two new keys and even threw in an extra manual key so I would have a "backup." I would not do business with this company ever again. They advertise an "affordable price" , but…read moretheir charges are twice the average at ~$340 with tax for four re-keys: 2 d.k and 2 d.b and two keys. In this line of business it seems exploitative to hide your costs until they are on site. Furthermore, he charges a 3.5% cc fee unless you leave him a review...while he waits. I did not agree to this strong arm strategy and ultimately he waived the cc fee. Point is, ask up front for costs and look elsewhere unless you're in a dire pinch.
