If she can push the surrogate's arm down while she holds the food/med up against your animal, then the animal cannot tolerate that food/med. She works on using kinesiology and (in my opinion) intuition. That said, all those methods WORK. She has managed to come up with a plan, food and diet change, to heal my pup from Perianal Fistulae (nasty illness common in GSDs). Now, I pretty much forced her (ok she was cooperative) to team up with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Vet from Connecticut (Dr. Stephanie Torlone) and come up with a plan to help him. This was back in February and both of them did a fab job ! They really got along well and came up with several herbs to work with that would help Albi out. As for personality wise, Dr. Doolittle is a tough cookie. She expects the best out of everything and everyone, so if you can't handle that, you'll be sorely disappointed. However, I love her for this. Price wise - this is expensive, but please note: I am a full time worker and full time student - I barely make ends meet, and when Albi got sick, I had even more trouble. But I KNEW Doolittle could help us out without using harsh immunosuppresants. I also knew based on my research of PFs, that this was the only sure way to get rid of them. Doolittle was worth every penny, still is. Every once in a while, you'll find some things are marked up, but if you do your research right, you can get some supplements/treats/treatments for cheaper elsewhere. However, the price for her services are worth it - she uses every ounce of energy in her to get the right combination of treatments for each patient, and she deserves some compensation for that.

We live over an hour away (73 miles) and we take the time to drive our baby girl here because they not only genuinely care about our four-legged family member, they treat her that way as well. They absolutely care more about your pet than over-treating with conventional medicine. You will find slightly different approaches based on the doctor you see, however, the general rule of thumb is to not give your pet anything they don't really need in terms of shots and vaccinations. They offer other holistic treatments that they combine with traditional medicine to give your pet the best possible experience. They take the time with each patient to answer all questions, which can very often lead to longer-than-typical wait times, even if you have an appointment for a specific time. While, as busy humans, this can certainly be frustrating from time-to-time, one must just remember that when it's your own turn, you get that same attention and care, without feeling like you're on a production line. It's a small inconvenience, that doesn't always happen. We are more than happy to wait when we go as we know this place has been instrumental in educating us on our dog's health and keeping her healthy. As I write this review she is 10 1/2 and doing fantastic. She has environmental and seasonal allergies that popped up 3 or 4 years ago. IAHC provided sound advice for testing and treatment, and while not every approach we tried worked, we have been able to keep our baby girl healthy even during the tough months. She went from incessantly scratching herself 24x7 and chewing her paws raw and bloody (requiring full time attention to stop), to minor discomfort 2 months of the year. This was due to uncovering food allergies that we have been able to work around, thus greatly reducing the effects of her environmental allergies that were plaguing her. She now eats a carefully controlled diet with ingredients that do not contain any allergens to which she reacts. It's certainly more "work" than it was when she was a pup, but it has made ALL the difference in the world to her life (and ours). I honestly don't know where she (or we) would be without the team at IAHC. They, in essence, have saved and prolonged her life, and we will be forever grateful for the amount of care and love they dispense here. If you are still reading this review, you should absolutely take your family pet here. I have no question of the quality of treatment your pet will receive. Dr Dawn has been visiting me about two times a month for well over a year now. Before her treatments, I was starting to limp and having much more difficulty navigating the steps I needed to use to go outside. Jumping on to my parents' bed at night when it was time for us to all go to sleep together, was becoming a hit and miss (mainly miss) experience. My regular vet, whose opinion we respected, had done everything in his power to help me. However, despite monthly Adequan injections, I was obviously still experiencing pain and compromise to my daily functioning. In fact it was during a routine visit to my conventional veterinarian when my mom questioned him as to what else could be done that could help address my arthritis. My vet discussed some alternate non medical treatments. Out of all the options mentioned, he recommended acupuncture as the most effective. He explained that although he didn't offer that service in his animal hospital, he encourages it. He related how he personally had treatments himself, and definitely benefited from them. When asked for a referral to his own personal acupuncturist, we were informed that pets needed different acupuncturist specialists then people, as the training necessary to be an expert and certified for that, was extensive and specific. We decided we were going to try and see if acupuncture could work for me. Coincidentally, at about the same time we actually heard about Dr. Dawn from another source. In addition to the vet's recommendation, my dog walker told my mom about how her 20 year old daughter's Bell's palsy, which was lingering, was almost spontaneously resolved after one treatment with acupuncture. My dog walker (who is also a great caring person, and has three dogs herself) said her daughter's acupuncturist told her about a veterinarian acupuncturist that she said was terrific. Enter Dr. Dawn Greenberg into our lives. As soon as I met Dr. Dawn, her soft voice, gentle pets to my head and reassuring manner won me over. Being a big, territorial kind of guy, it was great that she traveled to my own home to give me my treatments, which greatly reduced any any stress that I may have had, if I went to an unfamiliar office with strange smells and cold steel tables that I would associate with unhappy thoughts. It also helps that my mom stays with me right on our own couch during the treatments. I am preoccupied with conversation and kisses and I usually don't notice or ever flinch as the tiny needles are very slowly applied. Dr. Dawn patiently answers all questions and addresses all my mom's concerns. Dr Dawn is very involved with my health in general, and doesn't restrict her advice to my acupuncture alone. She was a conventional veterinarian prior to becoming a specialist in this field, so she is very knowledgeable. There was the time when after a treatment I was feeling so much better I was able to jump up unnoticed with my front paws onto the kitchen counter and ate some vegetable souffle that contained onions. Boy, when my mom called up Dr Dawn hysterical that she was afraid that those onions were potentially poisonous, Dr Dawn calmly talked my mom through what to do. And then there are all of Dr. Dawn's suggestions, like changing to a more effective anti flea and tick application then the one I had been using for years. She also told my mom about these toe-grips that slip over my nails and help walking by decreasing the slipping on the tile and wood floors. Most recently after Dr. Dawn attended a week long out of town advanced training course for new treatments and told us about a video she became aware of there, that had strength training exercises to help with weakness in my back legs, which she explained is one of the problems. Then, there was one time when I missed my Adequan injection at my general vet. Due to my mom's working schedule I would have had to wait another whole week to get it. When my mom voiced her concern about the delay, Dr Dawn ran into her car and returned with the proper Adequan shot and gave it to me right there and then! Talk about service with a smile. I have the utmost respect for her and am so glad to have the very nice Dr. Dawn in my life. In addition to looking forward to her visits (I even get so excited I jump up to greet her) it really seems that the treatments are helping me. Since I am very allergic to almost everything, typical analgesic pain reduction medications are out of the question for me. So, without the acupuncture treatments, I am afraid that my life would be so much more restricted due to pain. The Beloved Goldendoodle has had a bit of arthritis/back problems off & on for the last year or so,…read moreand since I need him to be at his happiest/healthiest I started looking around for alternative therapies to taking medication regularly. We had also moved into a new apartment on the second floor of a very old home, and the steep stairs were just making it worse (so we have broken our lease and are moving to solve that problem). My list included water therapy, but where is a city dog to go? Paws in Motion! I emailed Dr. Suzy and said that someone had recommended the underwater treadmill and/or swimming, made an appointment for later in the week and after meeting him she said she thought he would do best in the pool to start. He was outfitted with a life preserver, and headed up the ramp to get in the pool. In his previous swims (outdoors) he just walked right into the water, but when he needed to then go down a ramp and into the pool, he had the "you want me to do WHAT?" look on his face. However, Dr. Suzy had a tennis ball and he wanted that more than anything, so he followed her into the pool and looked so pleased with himself! He went back and forth retrieving his ball, and each week I notice that he moves more easily through the water and he is full of energy afterwards (some dogs might be tired, but this just energizes him). She is located at the intersection of Routes 9/27, and just a couple of miles from the Mass Pike exit so no matter where you are coming from it is easy to get there. We come from Brighton, it is a quick drive and he can't get out of the car fast enough and into her office each week. I am so happy we found her so I can keep my boy's paws in motion!!
