Stop! Stop! Stop! You have to call on the phone and then wait outside for half an hour! Duh!

I'm sure they are fine ethical veterinarians. But the office is sooo bad. They greet you at the door with a sign that says "stop!" And then you have to call the desk to ask permission to enter. I had to call 3 times to get someone on the phone. She told me to just wait outside because there is another animal in front of us. Okay. I mean. It's 6 minutes past my appt time but okay. So... there's a lot of construction and noise. And it's WINTER so I ask if I can sit in the car and they can call *me* when they are ready. Sure. Just watch the door for when they come out with a purple piece of paper..? Ummm. What? This office seems to really like the Covid procedures and creating barriers and annoying people. I am happy to wear a mask, stay distant whatever. But it's not the norm anymore and it's gotten so that a sign that says "STOP!" feels antagonistic. Which I think is their goal, honestly. I guess they are nice to animals. It's people that get in the way.

The letter we received from the vet stating that they were discharging our dog mid-treatment because of an honest Google review.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW WHICH YOU CAN READ BELOW THIS REVIEW. ***These people DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS!! I received a letter from this vet stating that they read my Google review (a photo of the letter as well as of our pets are included in this review-see below. Also, the blood on the top of our dog's tail is NOT from the abscess-the vet literally shaved SKIN off of his tail with the hair. He required additional medication from our new vet to treat this injury that Greenwich Valley gave him. I thought vets knew how to shave safely. Yes, the VET did that!) and that my dog was no longer a patient as a result of my review. They dropped him MID TREATMENT for an unresolved abscess and while he had a follow up appointment. We found a new, wonderful vet who very much cares for the animals and whose staff is courteous and appropriate. This is not the first issue we had with this vet. We had another dog previously, who was our world for 14 years. ON THE DAY HE WAS EUTHANIZED for congestive heart failure which the doctor stated was not treatable, I had to BEG for an appointment, once again from Nicole. My dog could not breathe, would not lie down, and was gasping for breath while Nicole tried to tell me that it was "just because he's an old Pug." I could write volumes of issues we went through with this place. I can assure you that your pet does NOT MATTER to them. Obviously money matters to them more than anything else including inept office staff, because if they cared about pets they would take steps to correct issues brought to their attention rather than send a customer who left an unfavorable review their pet's medical records while the pet is activity being treated by them for a serious infection. That's not caring about animals. That's cold and greedy and those are two characteristics I do not think anyone would want to entrust their pets' lives to. Also, our present dog whom they discharged from practice mid-treatment because of an internet review that the pet had no part of, is a 2 year old, blind American Eskimo Pomeranian mix. His name is Ralphie. He did not deserve this. My beloved Pug was Walter. He did not deserve to have to suffer as long as he did because Nicole didn't want to give him an appointment and who chose to make diagnoses over the phone, which she is not qualified to do. They make the money here at Greenwich Valley Vet, but it's your pets who pay. And they DO NOT CARE. Punishing people who leave honest reviews on Google by discharging their pets from care because of a review the pet had nothing to do with is NOT compassion for any animal. Be aware of this vet's real priority. It's not your pets. ***THIS IS THE ORIGINAL REVIEW:*** Nicole is rude and will give advice over the phone that will kill your pet. BEWARE!! Happened to me twice with two different pets. Office manager is a nightmare. The vets are fantastic if you can get Nicole to give you an appointment!

MY 4 YEAR OLD RESCUE DOG IS DEAD DUE TO GROSS MALPRACTICE. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. She was 4 years old and the love of my life. I adopted her when she was 1.5. She was diagnosed with Addison's disease last Thursday and put on prednisone. I received the lab reports, which Dr. Nelson had on Friday, today. Her creatine level was 7,573. The normal range is 10-200. She did not share the numbers when we spoke on Friday. In her message on. Friday, she said "President Kennedy had this disorder", undermining the severe condition.. She ran an additional test on Friday, never called me with the results. I called the office yesterday and did not receive a call back. At 6pm Molly suddenly died. We rushed her to Ocean State. They did two rounds of CPR and gave her two injections to try to get her heart to beat. It was too late. In addition, she had an abnormal blood test in November of 2019, which was not addressed by Dr. Landroche. There is a note that says "kidney profile?" Obviously never communicated to me or performed. I am contacting the licensing board.I ONLY received the lab reports after Molly died because I requested them. Otherwise, I am certain these outrageous numbers would never have been shared with me. I am disgusted. I will NEVER forgive myself from removing her from Dr. Leah Fischer's care at Woodriver Animal Hospital. If Molly had still been under Leah's care, she would still be here.

From the moment we arrived, everyone was remarkably kind, attentive, and professional. They assessed our dog immediately and brought us to a comfortable room where we could stay with her. Before performing any tests or administering any medications or treatments, they thoroughly explained everything and even sent a detailed estimate directly to our phone for review - something we truly appreciated. Dr. Binder took such a thoughtful and practical approach to her evaluation, carefully explaining each step along the way. She, along with the veterinary technicians, showed incredible compassion and genuine love for animals. Watching them get right down on the floor with our girl to comfort and examine her spoke volumes about the level of care they provide. A very special thank you to vet techs Emily and Juan, and to Dr. Binder. We are so grateful for the kindness, compassion, and outstanding care you gave both our girl and us. ‍ We would absolutely recommend VEG in Warwick to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care. They said I should bring her in but recommended waiting until shift change at 7-8am. Got there about 745 and she was taken right back. I was brought into a room and few minutes later the vet came in and said they'd done a physical exam already and asked me to explain why I was there. He said based on everything I said, he believed she had a brain tumor and we could do an MRI but the treatment would only manage symptoms which would get worse quickly and could include seizures, personality change and aggression. We made the difficult decision to help my baby pass on. They did not rush me and were super understanding. I had brought her blanket and toys and treats as I wasn't sure how long we would be there so she was very comfortable. The entire thing took about two hours which was much faster than I expected.

This is in response to "Business Manager Abby K's" response to my review on 5/20/26. Facts: We were trying to not name specific names in my initial review on 5/20/26 to protect the honest employees and give confidentiality. 1. Dr, Sweet said an infection could not have occurred so quickly during their care. Basically impossible as it takes more time for an infection to develop. Dr. Sweet was extremely kind and truthful. We appreciate his transparency to this day. 2. Dr. Sweet did not do the original surgery, but did the incision revision (2nd surgery) and said the reason the initial surgery/incision opened up was because instead of doing internal and external stitches from the initial surgery they only did internal stitches and external glue, which he said was not the proper method as the glue couldn't hold the incision closed because the incision was too big. 3. Ocean State Veterinary Specialists would never provide us with of any documentation of lab results showing any infection that supposedly occurred under their care, but they stated he had a very generic infection, which we believe was attempt to cover their mistake, as Dr. Sweet stated an infection couldn't have developed so quickly. 4. We've consulted with other experienced Vets since this matter, with all relevant information/photos/etc provided to them and they all confirm that our dog was mishandled. We very much appreciate Dr, Sweet for fixing our dog and his transparency. He's a very honest and qualified surgeon. Unfortunately the hospital Dr Sweet works for is not. While we promptly paid the collection account in full as soon as it was posted, we will be seeking most importantly changes and also damages through legal channels regarding this matter. We are not looking for any monetary reward besides our lost time and expenses, but rather aiming for this institution to improve itself, not blame the public, admit when they've made a mistake and not defraud the public at the same time. It will cost us more unnecessary expense to see this through, but with most of our experience on camera in their own hospital with this event and just the moral aspect of doing the right thing for pets we will incur this expense on behalf of others that perhaps cannot afford it and more importantly, all our pets. Please go somewhere else in the meantime for the safely of your pet and research past court cases against this company. If you feel this response is in unfounded, I welcome direct contact for any questions.
