Excellent customer service, we saved $1,000 in fees if renting a vehicle not in the airport, and prior customer didn't refuel vehicle to full tank so we're informed it's okay to return the vehicle with gas; however, full tank not necessary. Our Nissan Sentra was smooth riding! The trunk fit two large suitcases. This baby took us on road trips to MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, and Ontario, Canada. We returned the automobile to YYZ location. Male employee at YYZ checked the mileage, ensured we had everything before parting ways. Male employee at St Ann, MO location personally took the time, left a voicemail on my phone for my husband, inquired if there were any other concerns with the vehicle before closing out the bill. Wow! Talk about personable, Midwest hospitality, at your service! My husband gladly returned his phone call to inform him that all went well, he's ready to close out the bill and thanked the gentleman. We're happy to be repeat customers at this location! Gave my credit card, ID and other items to them and was signing the paperwork getting to a car and on my way. The check out at the booth took a while (person in there was writing something on the brochure but did not explain anything about it) got on my way and it took a few minutes to adjust the mirrors and get it the way I wanted. The car I got had low mileage, amazing handling, great gas mileage. It is a car I would never in a million years have picked to drive but after driving it I really want to buy one! Kept the car the whole time I had it scheduled for. took it in to drop it off and it was an easy process. The guy checking us in was super friendly and happy to hear we enjoyed the car. Emptied the car of our stuff and went to wait for the shuttle. The shuttle came by, got us to our airline at the airport. The driver on the way from the airport to Alamo was super nice, giving us dinner recommendations, helping with bags. The driver from Alamo to the airport was less so. No chit chat and no help with bags. Not necessarily bad, just a different experience. Overall a positive experience and I would rent from here again.

Alamo confirmed by phone that switching pickup to St. Louis and drop-off to O'Hare would be fine given the weather delay. Showed up to the St. Louis location and got a completely different story from an employee named Robin -- rude, dismissive, and visibly annoyed that we'd interrupted her personal phone call at 3am. She refused to honor what we'd been told, tried to force us into a brand new reservation that only let us return the car to St. Louis (defeating the entire purpose), and wouldn't listen to a word we said. Ended up stranded at the airport for 18 hours with zero help. It got worse: when we finally got to O'Hare, our reservation had been locked and falsely marked as "car already picked up" -- apparently something Robin did on her way out. A manager had to manually clear it before we could get the car we'd already paid for. The O'Hare team was fantastic and saved the whole trip -- no complaints there. But the St. Louis location and this employee specifically are a disaster. Do yourself a favor and rent from literally anywhere else.

This was my first time using Hertz and from beginning to end it was the best experience by far that I have ever had renting a car from the airport area in St. Louis. Unlike my experience at other local rental agencies, this place was adequately staffed, and there weren't horrible, long lines. The car was what I expected. It was hands-down my best car rental experience in St. Louis. I will definitely use them again in the future. Hopefully my experience continues to be the same in the future.
