    Genuinely couldn't have asked for a better car rental experience! The prices were extremely reasonable, the car was in excellent condition and drove so smoothly, and all of the staff that we interacted with were incredibly professional, friendly, and worked quickly. Even the shuttle bus driver was nice and ran a very timely schedule so that we made it to the airport in plenty of time thankfully I was concerned when I saw the initial reviews and so we just braced ourselves for something rough since we *needed* a car for our trip and this place had the best prices and options. But we had ZERO issues with renting from them, everything was great! I have no clue why they have bad reviews, all of their cars appeared to be in excellent condition and the staff was very professional and helpful, even though we were renting Last minute (like same day) because we forgot we would need to rent a car . I hope that everyone can have the same experience It also only took them 5 business days to process the $200 security deposit and remove that from our credit account so that was super simple :) **Additional tips** - 1. we have our own car insurance for our vehicles back home, so those will usually cover your rental cars as well, but check your policy first. If it does then you don't need to buy their insurance at all. 2. We also just sucked it up and paid the $40 bucks to have them refill the gas tank since we were rushing from a wedding to the airport, and that felt like it made things go much smoother as well. (This place is already $100 cheaper than the nearest competitor so doesn't seem like a big deal)

    If can give no star I will, run away from this place. It's run by inept staff. Returning your rental car off hours is confusing and downright crazy, went I got home back in SD, they charged me extra a total of $180 because I park the car on the wrong spot, which was their fault. Called St Louis Dollar to question the extra charge and told him for the manager to call me, manager never called me back for almost 2 days so I called corporate, to report this shenanigan and that was the time, manager called back, claiming will rectify their mistake, we will see for it's not credited yet on my credit card. They need to restructure their return policy and a clear explanation how to return the car off hours specially at night. Staff need to verbally explain in a concise manner how to return car off hours not some signage ( see picture below). "Park you return car when you see a purple arc on your right...." that fine and dandy if it's daytime hour when you can see a full array of colors but at night, purple?)

    In town to lay my nephew to rest. Upon return, employee "Jay" informed me the tag was missing from the key. With a very nasty tone Jay said I couldn't return the car without the tag. He asked me repeatedly for the paper tag that was on the key. As his behavior grew more immature the service got worse. Then He was frustrated because I didn't know how much fuel was left in it. I thought it didn't matter if you prepaid for a full tank. never want to do business with Dollar! Jay, you never know what people are dealing with and how your kindness and professionalism can make the difference for the client, yourself, and your company.

    Beware! There was a scratch on my rental car bumper. I marked it on the paperwork AND took a photo (Thanks to my smart hubby) A week later I get a letter in the mail (!) stating they had forwarded a damage claim to a third party vendor (because they are so busy) to collect money from me for a new bumper! And, gently suggest I may want to contact my cc and insurance. SAY WHAT?! This stinks to high heaven! After less than kind email exchanges with their 'claims' department, not providing documentation I had asked for, I am forced to fight this the legal way - For a 1 day rental! And, after a brief internet search this location has done a similar thing before!!

I show proof of my reservation with pricing and they say "oh no these fees and taxes are wrong they're higher" On a reservation I had made just the day before... So they didn't honor the price AND a young driver fee that was never mentioned during booking (despite entering our age) was added too. I tried reaching out to their customer support and it's just an online form on their website, no email, no option for adding an attachment to show proof. Two days later they still haven't reached out to me. Overall would not recommend, instead find a rental that is more transparent and offers good customer assistance. The whole thing left me feeling like I got scammed.

Approximately 10 mins away should you decide to Uber it. He ran to the site using Google maps and picked us up outside of STL within 45 mins. My husband was happy because he got his miles of running and exercise for the day! Excellent customer service, we saved $1,000 in fees if renting a vehicle not in the airport, and prior customer didn't refuel vehicle to full tank so we're informed it's okay to return the vehicle with gas; however, full tank not necessary. Our Nissan Sentra was smooth riding! The trunk fit two large suitcases. This baby took us on road trips to MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, and Ontario, Canada. We returned the automobile to YYZ location. Male employee at YYZ checked the mileage, ensured we had everything before parting ways. Male employee at St Ann, MO location personally took the time, left a voicemail on my phone for my husband, inquired if there were any other concerns with the vehicle before closing out the bill. Wow! Talk about personable, Midwest hospitality, at your service! My husband gladly returned his phone call to inform him that all went well, he's ready to close out the bill and thanked the gentleman. We're happy to be repeat customers at this location! I showed up one time and was 4th in line. 90min standing there wondering how much slower these counter people could possibly be was my only entertainment. These people moved at the speed of frozen tar. Pure chaos. Last night, Christmas 2022 I saw the entire building full of people. The dispatch was telling the driver to not pick up anymore people at the airport. People at airport were waiting 45 minutes outside waiting for a bus to take them to a little corner of hell on earth: the counter. Do whatever you can you avoid this hell. Use fastbreak. Buy a car. There was an arrow but I wasn't for sure if it meant the area I was in or through that lot. Depending on what gps you use, it will take you to the front with like visitor parking. Perhaps more signage or better signage for those new to area. After returning the car, I found the actual charge on my credit card was $1,183.63, that is, over THREE TIMES of the booked price!!! Why? Because these demons added a fee called "Excess Distance Charge" based on my entire mileage (1,726 mi) to be $655.88! This is freaking and insane. See the second image, issues are: 1) The demons charged me on 10 days (3 Day + 1 Week) as well as on mileage (1,726 mi). How can they overcharge twice on two items, both days and miles?! 2) "Excess" means something beyond limits. For instance, if I drive over 100 mi/day or outside MO/KS/IL, the extra miles may be defined as "Excess". However, the demons calculated "Excess" miles from 0 (pickup) to 1,726 (dropoff). This is to say when I picked up the car, the mileage was already "Excess". 3) When I picked up the car at St. Louis Airport, the staff did not mention anything about this damned "Excess Distance Charge" or the car does not have unlimited miles. I was not informed of such a ridiculous charge by anybody during the rental process. I have experience renting cars in the USA and in foreign countries. All rentals are based on days and most have unlimited miles. It is my first time to see such a hidden and unreasonable charge, which reflects the ugly greed to rip money from my pocket by any means. From now on, National Car Rental is blacklisted and banned from my life. Such a diabolic company without honoring contractual obligations should perish from the Earth ASAP.

They were over-inflated to 45 PSI when they should have been 38 PSI. Over-inflation is particularly dangerous when driving on ice and snow. We had a flat and learned this about the car: the tire sensors don't even work. They indicate a different PSI than actual, which we measured with a gauge we purchased. All this happened when it was 2 degrees and blowing snow. We were driving to attend a funeral - the very last time we wanted to have car trouble. It cost us a lot of time and money to get the car going. When we turned the car in, I tried to tell the guy about the tire problem but he practically shouted at me, "That's my problem, not yours!" I do feel for him, working in freezing weather, but I wasn't complaining, just informing. I gave up. My advice is to rent elsewhere. I usually use Enterprise and should have done this on this trip. -

When I walked in there were 3 employees and each one was working with someone that had an issue and they were waiting for the manager, which took a very long time. With only 3 people ahead of me I thought it would be quick. Nope! Also, there also is no place for anyone with status to get in and out quickly like other places. After waiting 35 mins I finally was checked in and sent outside to wait for my car. After waiting 25 mins for the car to be brought around, I asked the 1 guy bringing cars around if he could look for the car I was supposed to get. After he dropped off yet another car for someone else, he finally said "I didnt see it" and then walked away. Super not helpful dude. I ended up going back inside, waiting to talk to the guy who helped me, he assured me it was coming, so I waited another 15 mins. Still, no car. The counter guy finally came out to get me and said someone from avis gave my car to someone else. Thankfully he was helpful and eventually got me another car. At this point an offer for an upgrade or something would have been a nice nod and would have made some inroads into keeping me as a customer. That was not to be had, though the guy thanked me for my patience and good nature. I really regret trying Budget to save $40. I legit thought about ubering to another car rental place and abandoning the $ I already paid for the rental. It was not even a holiday or a time that would warrant a longer waiting period. It was just poor training, poor service, no hustle, and just a lack of professionalism.
