Each therapist has their own style and unique personality. Unfortunately, for me I had to return for physical therapy. Upon my return to the Bowie location, I was assigned to a new physical therapist. I do not attest to having a simple profile. Not only did I arrive with muscular/skeletal challenges, I had also recently been diagnosed with a blood-clot in my lung. I was leery, at first, to work with a new provider, not liking change. My apprehension quickly subsided. Mr. Richard B, is a phenomenal physical therapist. Although new to ATI, he comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Richard believes in a holistic approach to treatment. He listened to my concerns, asked clarifying and pertinent questions. Post my evaluation, he explained the results of his assessment, and the treatment plan to rehabilitate and improve my current state. Richard made note of my diagnosis and treatment history, followed up with my doctor and created a treatment plan that would not jeopardize my wellbeing. His thoroughness made me feel at ease, safe and in competent hands. There are many factors that come into play when one experiences an injury, is post-surgery, or the issue is chronic. I have experienced each of these circumstances, and know that the work is not only physical, but emotional. Treatment does not just include someone directing you to complete an exercise that is difficult, causes you discomfort, and is difficult, and then applying heat or ice to the body part.
