I was referred to Allcare by my ophthalmologist. I have had several pairs of glasses made by them, and they always come out correctly. If a minor modification is needed they take care of it. They have two offices, the others in Temple City. Dr. Han has always provided excellent care regarding selection always seem to have something that I can use. They will process process of VSP and Check benefits prior to ordering the glasses. I would not go anywhere else I live almost an hour from this office and believe the travel to them is worth it. read more

Been going here for over a decade, and it's always a good experience. Dr. Han and Dr. Kwong are so knowledgeable and make you feel very comfortable. It's always a quick and painless experience for an eye exam and to grab glasses or contact lenses. The Temple City location is great as well. The El Monte location shares space with the pharmacy. This is the best optometry experience I've ever had! Here's a little background: It's been 4 years since I last had an eye exam and my current glasses are falling apart. My last eye doctor was incredibly rude and impatient - and I ended up with glasses with a terrible prescription. I also felt cheated from him. I did not have vision insurance and called in to ask about pricing, and his staff told me one price but ended up charging me more on my visit. (For anyone that's wondering, it's Dr. Elson Lai from Rosemead Eye Center.) I also used to go to Dr. CK Chan, but the price for an eye exam there is now too high for me. So I decided to look for a new eye doctor. I read reviews of many local and highly-rated optometry places and called in to inquire about pricing since I do not have vision insurance. Allcare is located near me and offered the most reasonable pricing for eye exams. There were not very many reviews on here, but most of them were positive, so I decided to give Allcare a try. I am super glad that I came here! Everyone was super accommodating, friendly, and professional. Dr. Tiffany Kwong provided excellent care and a comfortable experience my first time here. Because of Dr. Kwong, I regained faith in eye doctors that I lost from my old eye doctor. I brought in my old glasses with the prescription that I did not like and she checked them out and identified the probable reason why my old prescription did not suit me. The eye exam felt thorough and Dr. Kwong was very patient with me. She cleared up many questions that I had and I felt that she cared about me. While the selection of frames at this location don't seem like a lot, I was able to find a pair that I like - which is rare considering I have a bigger head. (I usually buy my frames from Golden Vision, but since I found a pair of frames that I like, I did not have to go somewhere else.) The guy who assisted me with finding new frames was also super kind and enjoyable to talk to. He immediately narrowed down a selection of frames to a brand that usually caters to people with bigger heads because all the other brands would be too snug on me. I was told that I could also bring in my own frames or check out the frames somewhere else (such as their location in Temple City). The staff also assured me that I can return to make any adjustments if necessary. I waited to write this review until I picked up my glasses. The wait time was not too bad, it was about 2 weeks for me compared to about 3 weeks that I usually wait. I can now confidently say that Allcare was the right place to go to for my new pair of glasses. My glasses are stylish, comfortable, and most importantly, give me clear and balanced vision. Dr. Kwong did an excellent job fine tuning the prescription for my new glasses. I could have gone anywhere for my new glasses, but the care and friendly service that I received from Allcare means that I will definitely come here for my next eye exam. read more

Dr. Tiffany Kwong provides me with the best quality care with her excellent bedside manners. Dr. Kwong really takes her time and effort out in helping with my eye examination. She allows times for me to ask any questions and or resolve any concerns that I have. She also gives me advice on doing Lasik. Dr. Kwong is a very talkative person as well. She enjoys talking to her patients as well as getting to know them. I sincerely appreciate her kindness and bedside manners. This is the reason why I keep coming back to see her. Thank you Dr. Kwong! Worst experience I've ever had in an optometry. VSP Vision Care promotes this place as a "Premier" office. It's supposed to have better options (frames/glasses) even if you have VSP as part of the L.A. Care Health from Medi-Cal. It was also hard to get an appointment. Tuesday, July 6, 2021: I went there and when the exam was done, I passed to the glasses section with expectations of finding nice ones. The options they showed to me were the same ugly ones. Actually, the looked very similar one to the other, and similar to the ones I was already wearing. I told them I chose that office because they were "VSP Premier", and supposed to have nicer frames. They told me for my insurance (Medi-Cal), those were the only options. So I decided to use an old frame I had in my car, but which was very good looking and in excellent conditions. They tried hard to make me choose one of theirs (so they can charge more to the insurance) but, I was firm on my decision. Then they looked at those glasses and to the ones I was wearing, and told me my insurance would not cover the same lenses, and that if wanted them to be the same (thinner, protective coating, etc.) I would have to pay more money from my pocket (i.e. $80 only for thinner lenses). I decided to go just with the "free" (covered by my insurance) basic lenses but in my old frame. They made me sign a release for leaving my old frame, so in case they brake my frames I'd not be able to claim. I was told they would take 3-4 weeks to be ready. They also did not have the contact lenses with my prescription FOR the FITTING. So the Dr. said someone from the office would call me as soon as they receive those lenses, to get an appointment to go there for the fitting. I told her I had to wait about two weeks for the exam appointment, and I didn't want to wait another two weeks for a "fitting", but she said that would not happen this time. *FYI, I've been using contacts for 23 years already.* Tuesday, July 13, 2021: Went there for the contact lenses fitting. Thursday, August 5, 2021: It's been more than 4 weeks already, and no one from this office has called me, so I called to ask for my eye glasses, which were told to be ready in 3-4 weeks. The woman on the phone seemed to be lost, and then a guy named Kevin -with bad attitude- told me my glasses were going to take 2 months. That it wasn't their fault but insurance's fault. That they sent my glasses directly to the insurance and there was nothing they (the office) could do. I told him I would never go again to that shop to receive service because the experience since day one was horrible, and he started to build excuses. He said "everybody in California is using the same lab" and that my "prescription is high". Man, those are not valid excuses!!!! Then I called again and told the woman that I wanted my frames back. She said they were at the lab, and when I told her -very disappointed and angry- "I don't care. I want them back.", she said she was "going to call to the lab to see if they can send the frames right away". She said "Ok, thank you." after that and hung up. She never said she was going to call me back or ask for my name nor anything. I'm guessing she knew I was the one who called less than 30 minutes earlier asking for his eyeglasses. Bottomline: Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. The Dr. was super nice and a pleasant exam, but THEIR SERVICE IS THE WORST. The whole experience will turn into a nightmare. I paid $85.00 for the contact lenses exam (not covered by insurance) but had to go a 2nd time for the fitting. That means more time and transportation expenses on my end. And will have to go a 3rd time to pick up the frame I left there, since they failed to comply with the max of 4 weeks that they told me. All of this means I have been spending extra time and money, even without buying any contacts or eyeglasses from them, just because of their incompetence. Also, other reviews were right... They will never call you to let you know your glasses are ready or if there's a delay. Why I went to this office?: I chose this office because the one I went last year, right when the pandemic was starting, closed its doors. Actually, it was in the shopping center in front of where this AllCare Optometry is located. Very close to my home. I remember they told me my glasses would take 2-4 weeks to be ready, but they texted me in less than two weeks to go and get my new eyeglasses. You see? It's possible! *I will update my review as soon as I get my frame back, or the completed eyeglasses (if they decide to do the job they were supposed to during the last 4 weeks). read more

Ive actually been a patient of Dr. Han from her Temple City location and followed her here since the day of my appointment, she was at this location. The place is very clean, her staff are all very friendly and Dr. Han is very thorough and shes sweet, and funny. Makes your exam genuinely a comfortable experience. Im personally scared to go to the optometrist, i mean all those big machines and the thing that blows in your eye? Not a fan, but Dr. Han makes it a lot easier going for me. She is very helpful with choosing your contacts and educates you meticulously. She prescribed me Acuvue Oasis and i am very happy with it. Ill be her patient until she retires for sure! read more

Vivian is very attentive as is Dr. Han. It was not too long of a wait to be seen and there are also other healthcare practitioners situated in the same building. I was able to get some cute prescription frames that really suit me. I much prefer this location to the optometry I used to go to and am now converted. Would recommend. read more

I am beyond satisfied with Dr. Han and her staff. I have never used glasses before but I was concerned about some issues. Dr. Han was very nice, attentive, and answered all my questions. She recommended I get glasses and now I understand why. Her staff are very friendly and patient. I took a long time deciding what frame I wanted but they showed me that they care about their patients. I was having issues with the pick up time due to work and they were able to accommodate me.
