I took my husband in to Clearvue Optometry Feb 2 last month. we met Dr. Raina Cheung. she was very professional and careful examining his eyes. she explained what was wrong and answered all our question and concerned. then he prescribed eyedrop for my husband to drop for both eyes twice a day . few days later of using the eyedrop my husband felt his itchiness and redness and puffy eyes gone down a lot. Lydia and Maggie as well as Dr. Szeto were delightful and very friendly! Got my prescription as well as a sheet that tells me my eye measurements so I can get lenses elsewhere if Id like! They have an array of frames of many budgets from plastic to metal! The appointment was swift and in a continent location for me. There is plenty of parking as it serves the whole 168 market plaza. The optometrist Dr Szeto was very friendly and personable, as we talked about random things like traveling, and friendly banter. She recommended I get glasses specifically for viewing screens, and though hesitant at first, am glad I did! They gave my very computer involved job an ease on my eyes, with slick frames covered by my insurance! (My special lenses were not covered however.) Less than a week later, my glasses were ready for pick up! I was in and out of the store in less than five minutes. I left the doc a small note of places she ought to check out in Singapore (as I studied there for a year) as during our conversation, was very excited to hear about her plans on going. She gave me a call a couple days later to thank me for the note, it was sweet she even bothered! They are very patient and carefully explained everything, including what the insurance covers. We love the Silhouettes frames for its lightness, and the Tiffany frames are very stylish and beautiful. Been coming here for my son, husband and myself for our glasses and contacts for years. Dr Szeto is very experienced and patient, also friendly and chatty in a good way. She is attentive to details and maintains a high standard when it comes to contact fitting and eyesight correction. I like this office because it's small and responsive. They are usually very organized and professional, and I do like the doctor we see. Today, though, I walk in and there are three ladies in the front office. Nobody looked up or said hi. I sign in, and it's just silence to us (they were chit chatting with each other) until someone finally comes from behind the desk to start the appointment. They are all generally nice and polite and I still recommend this place but it's such a turn off when your come in for service and nobody even acknowledges your presence for many minutes. Well, I really did not get their services or products here, all because when I walked into their office to see if I could get an eye exam and a pair of glasses. I notice they have two or three ladies in the counter area but none of them greet you and they don't even acknowledge you in their store. It was back in 2013 or 2014. At that time I had no idea how much it cost me to have a pair glass plus eye exam so I went to this store near the place I used to live. It cost me around 600 dollars in total. Later on I found out it should cost $100 -$ 200 dollars. It only lasted less than 2 years. Plus, the doctor ( I forgot her name) was very mean . It seemed that she have something else on her mind and would not listen to you. Go somewhere else and get better services. Don't waste your money. read more

I started coming to Clearvue last year and was recommended by my old coworker, Jack N. The staff here are very nice and friendly - they will try their best to squeeze you in for an appointment. Dr. Szeto is very professional and knowledgeable. During the first eye exam, she noticed that the prescription for my contacts were too strong and my eyes were also very dry. She recommended that I try a different brand and also lowered my prescription. In the past year, I had no trouble with my contacts and was happy with her recommendation. I recently came back for my annual checkup. She realized that I've been wearing my contacts for a little too long during the day so she recommended another type of contact lenses. She also gave me some tips and suggestions on my wearing schedule. Besides her professionalism, Dr. Szeto is also easy going and can carry a conversation with her patients to make the eye exam less boring. Although her contact lens are more expensive than other the Asian optometrists around the area, I'd still come back for the service of Dr. Szeto and her staff. read more

My visit was only for contact lense prescription but she went ahead and fitted me for glasses as well, for the same price. Later she informed me that the prescription I had before for my glasses were incorrectly diagnosed. The optometrist is very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been going to Clearvue for 3 years now for my annual eye exam and contacts prescription. Dr. Szeto is very professional and knowledgeable. When I first switched over to her, she corrected my contacts lens prescription, which was too high in one of my eyes, which could explain why I used to get migraines very frequently and why my eyes felt so strained. She also took the time to learn about my eye needs. I was prescribed Acuvue 2 at my previous optometrist but they never felt as comfortable as they should have been and I often suffered from dry eyes as a result. Dr. Szeto recommended a different brand to me that helped alleviate my dry eyes and suited me a lot more than Acuvue 2 did. read more

Went to this place after reading some Yelp reviews. Dr. Szeto is a very sociable and caring optometrist who is very knowledgeable and seems to genuinely care for her patients. She told me that my last contact prescription might've been too high and causing excessive strain on my eyes, which is why she might actually lower my prescription (never thought that would happen lol). Clearvue Optometry is great. Dr. Szeto is friendly, prompt, and extremely helpful. I have had a history of chronic migraines and I never could figure out the cause. After one visit with Dr. Szeto, she informed my that my prescription has been wrong for three years. She corrected the prescription and not only do I see clearer, my migraines have disappeared. She even gave me two different brands of contacts so I could test them out for a week before deciding which ones to order. And she showered me with samples of solution and eye drops, which is a definite perk. Her staff is amazing, they definitely know what they are doing and look HAPPY doing their jobs. I took my daughter to see Dr szeto for contact lenses and every visit we went she did not greet or acknowledge me. I felt that she does not have a goodnight customer relationship with her patient. I wouldn't come back again. Her staff are not friendly and does not accommodate my appointment time. Especially Sylvia. I requested refund for the lenses and waited for more than hour to get the money back. She told me her accountant would bring in the check but it turns out to be her husband. Went here a few months ago but I do not think I will be going back. Dr. Szeto did not give my the right type of contacts - she prescribed a different type from my previous one. As a result, I started getting dizzy. I called up the office and they told me to come back for the original one. Dr. Szeto never bothered to call me to follow up. I never write reviews, but I thought I'd come out of the woodworks for this one: I just went a couple days ago and saw Dr. Julia Lee. Dr. Lee is my favorite optometrist I've had so far. You know those eye exams where not much is said, and you walk away with a new prescription and you have no idea why? Well, my experience with Dr. Lee was the complete opposite. She was very kind, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. She was able to field my questions regarding how the exam worked. She also provided helpful tips for preventative care. I walked away feeling like she cared more about my eyes than I do. This has motivated me to take better care of my eyes, especially now that I have a clear idea of what I need to do. I'd rather be able to say, "I see you" than be in the ICU, ya dig? Ask for Dr. Lee, and you won't regret it! read more

I needed an eye exam and was looking for a new eye doctor with late/weekend hours, and close to my work... I called on a Friday and was hoping to get in that night or Saturday bc I've been procrastinating getting perception sunglasses, and it's been really bothering me driving home from work with the sun in my eyes lately ... So they didn't have anything available, but the woman was sweet enough to squeeze me in! So I had my exam, and Dr. Szeto was the nicest Doctor I've ever met, I kid you not. She was just so kind and caring, like making small talk didn't feel forced .. Ya know? Before I came to this Optometry, i was wearing very uncomfortable contact lenses that were just unbearable for me to leave on for more than 4 hours let alone the entire day. Dr. Szeto recommended me a different type of contact lenses that are very effective and comfortable that i now wear all the time. I can happily go on with my daily life without having to suffer! I never bought anything or gotten an eye exam here and maybe that was my problem because I brought my glasses in to fix. Only a screw was missing at the time. When they fixed it they put one of the components backwards and the reverse torque generated from the joints, over time, broke my temple piece. So I brought it back thinking they'd fix it. First they tried to claim it wasn't them with the old "Anyone can come in and claim they got it fixed here" because they don't give you a receipt or any documented proof that you fixed your shit there. Then, after half an hour of denying responsibility, we concluded with I pay for the piece which i never did. If I have to pay for a piece they broke then I can buy it myself. Their solution to their mistakes is purely PROFIT DRIVEN. Broke my glasses and still can't stand to lose any money. DON'T GO HERE. read more

This is my first review that I have ever written. I usually don't write a review although the place has bad service (to the point that I can't stand it) because I understand that people are human, and they can have bad days. However, with this optometry it's not about a regular everyday service, but a healthcare professional providing a service to your eye, one of the most important organs in human body. Anyway, I first went in to this optometry because I was having problems with my contacts and my eyes. I told Dr. Szeto that I think the contacts are the reason that makes my eyes itchy and red, and I also want to get a prescription to update my eyeglasses. But you know what she said? She said that if I don't get a contact lens exam (which was much more expensive), she will only talk about eyeglasses and my eyes, and will not talk about contact lens at all!! Didn't I just say that contacts are the cause that leads to my eyes' problem??? If she's not going to talk about contacts, how can she fix the itchiness and redness of my eye!!! So I HAVE to get contact lens exam in order for her to fix my eyes properly!! On that same day, she put new contacts into my eyes when I said that my eyes are ichy and HAVING problems WITH CONTACTS. SHE STILL PUT THE FREAKIN' CONTACTS INTO MY EYES!!! Didn't anyone in Optometry school or in your life tell you that you shouldn't further irritate the eyes by putting in more of what already cause the irritation? The good thing is she still prescribed me an eye drop. THANK GOD. Oh, by the way, she said to wear that new contact everyday, and I was dumb enough to do what she said. So, I wear these new contacts the next day even though my eyes are still itchy and irritate. At the end of the day, I can't stand the itchiness and the irritation anymore, so I made an appointment to come back. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID? SHE SAID THAT THE CONTACTS MIGHT BE TOO THICK AND PUT ANOTHER CONTACTS INTO MY EYES. I was like.... wtf?? It was my eyes that having problems, not the contacts, woman!!!! So, I have no choice but to wear that other contact that she just put them into my eyes because I didn't have a current eyeglasses. After I left the optometry for an hour, I lost the contacts on the left because it was so irritating I had to keep rubbing my eyes. So, I called in to let her know that I lost my contacts, and you know what she said??? THE RECEPTIONIST SAID THAT I ALREADY TRY ON A BUCH OF CONTACTS, AND I LOST A COUPLE ALREADY, SO SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE DOCTOR WILL DO NEXT!! wtf? THE DOCTOR WAS THE ONE WHO KEEP SHUFFLING ALL THE CONTACTS SHE HAS IN HER LIFE INTO MY EYES!!! AND I DID NOT LOSE A COUPLE, I LOST ONLY 1 CONTACT LEN FROM MY LEFT EYE, AND I STILL HAVE THE RIGHT ONE! I was so mad, so I told them that I will use the eye drop until my eyes get better, then go back to see them. After 2 weeks, my eyes got better, so I called in for an appointment. This time I brought in my old contacts for her reference. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID, she put MY OWN CONTACTS INTO MY EYES!! Another WTF. I couldn't stand how she works, or how her optometrist's brain works at all!! I PAY FOR CONTACT LENS EXAM TO GET NEW CONTACTS, NOT FOR HER TO PUT IN MY OLD CONTACTS INTO MY EYES!!! At this point, I told myself that I'm done with this optometrist already. Another thing that I want to talk about is the eyeglasses. I got an eyeglasses prescription from her and make the glasses somewhere else, but there's something wrong with the prescription, so I ask her about it. YOU KNOW WHAT SHE SAID?? SHE SAID THAT THE PERSON WHO MAKES THE GLASSES DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE AND DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE FOCAL POINT!! Again, WTF. I understand that people can make mistake, but why does she has to say something like that about another person?? She kept saying something like "if your eyeglasses were made us, we can fix it for you." Yes, right, but I don't want to walk in and out of your office every two or three weeks for an entire year just to let you fix my eyeglasses, like you have already done to my eyes and all the good stuff about our contact lens story. I am really done with this place. Thank god my eyes are still with me. read more

This was my first, i was recommended by my sister to go there. The staff working the desk don't speak English very well, so its really hard to understand them and communicate with them. For the most part they were nice, the lady helping me with my eye sight i forgot her name but she did a good job, i think she did, i can't comment really because i have yet to get my glasses. I was told i would get my glasses in a week or two. Granted i waited over a week, its 11 days after and i haven't received my glasses. When i called and asked, they made some weird excuse that the manufacturer is having issues processing the glasses, which gives me the impression that i won't be getting them this week either. In the past i had gone to lenscrafters and i always praised there speed and process. I now regret not going there. Fact i'm going to just get my prescription and go there because it will be done in an hour and i will be able to enjoy my vacation experience.. I may update this if i get them before i leave for my vacation, but this is unacceptable in my book. I expect better. read more
