I made an appointment for her with Dr. Wong to get an updated glasses prescription and overall eye wellness exam. Dr. Wong was more than happy to accommodate a visit within the same week! My boyfriend's mom mentioned it was a very pleasant experience and continuously kept raving about how much better it is versus Costco Optometry, where she previously got her glasses. (The optician at Costco Optometry got impatient and yelled at her for being indecisive, plus their selection of frames were subpar, compared to Dr. Wong's inventory.) The glasses prescription she got from Dr. Wong were "absolutely perfect", per her words. "Everything is so sharp and clear." I was so relieved when I was referred to Dr. Wong at El Monte Optometry over 25 years ago. I had so many challenges with contacts and optometrists previously, constantly being told nothing more could be done in my situation. My prescription is high with some complications, but she took the time to find the right contacts for me. After trying many contacts, she found a special hybrid contact lens that fit my needs. She even cares for her patients outside of her work! And her long-time patients consider her a friend, visiting her with gifts. I've never had to wait past my appointment time and her staff is kind. One of her staff members, Edgar, patiently adjusts my sunglasses repeatedly every year until they fit my face well. And he has worked so patiently and encouragingly with my son for over 30 minutes trying to help him get contacts into his eyes! They also speak Spanish and Chinese. read more

Seeing Dr. Wong has become a family affair of the years. I started seeing her several years ago when my eyes started aging. She was totally honest and upfront and told me I can start with just Costco reading glasses until my eyes changed more. She didn't try to sell me something I didn't need yet. When my vision became worse I returned and was happy to discover her office has the latest noninvasive equipment for assessments. The visits are quick, comfortable and really easy. I used to go to UC Berkeley's Eye Center and the visits are long and the equipment was older and more uncomfortable, especially the eye pressure test. My husband started seeing her as well to get prescription sunglasses, computer glasses and eventually my kids stared getting exams here. My kids like how she listens closely to them and that the visits are quick unlike the UC Berkeley Eye Center's long appointments. She was really sweet with my teen son who was sad he actually needed glasses - she texted him to comfort him. Talk about going above and beyond! She has helped my daughter pick out really stylish glasses and has a knack for getting the right shape and frame for all of us. I have progressives and the lenses are expertly made that I've been able to get used to them effortlessly. We all have been really happy with the quality of the glasses and crystal clear lenses and that we can get our glasses very quickly. I've also been able to get my glasses readjusted by Edgar who is a master at fitting the frames to sit comfortably on your face. Even though I don't live in the area we keep coming back for our glasses and Dr. Wong has been kind enough to ship our glasses to us in Northern California. I highly encourage anyone who has any any eye issues or remaining FSA funds to go to this office. You will find yourself bringing in the rest of your family like I did. read more

I usually don't give review on optometry as my glasses usually give me headache due to the big degree difference between my two eyes. I have been tried multiple optometries in the past 5 years and it didn't seem to make difference. So I gave up until my friend asked me to try since he had great experience. With some doubt, I made appointment on one Saturday. After telling her my concern, Cecilia changed strategy on me . She was trying to make me wearing class and feel comfortable. She also provided other options for me to choose. After thousands times of adjustment , we FINALLY found a perfect balance that makes me see better and most importantly , comfortable for both of my eyes! I got my glasses less than a week and I'm typing with my glasses on. They are sooo comfy that I forgot to take them off ! Definitely recommend her El Monte optometry ! Fast service. Super nice people! Loved the way the reminder of appointments are sent via texts. 10/10! When the left end-piece and screw fell off (broke unexpected) from my glasses I taped it til my wife called to make appointment and got an appointment for the next day. They have the same frame already as I have, the warranty allows me to get new frame at the same day and lenses were taken off to be put on new frame. Then I asked for the cost for new lenses because both had scratches and I was assured that the warranty already covered for the new lenses. So two weeks later, reminder was set to be sent for next appointment to come in to replace my scratched lenses for new lenses. Today I went to pick up my new lens for my glasses. I was 10 mins early but I wasn't able to come in because someone was already inside. I ask Edgar to please let me know when she came out, because it was really hot outside. 10 mins pass my appointment time no one came out and I had to call them to come seat inside. Luckily Edgar was nice enough to let me in. Doctor Cecilia walk her last patient out and walk right by me without even a hello or anything, which I felt a little curious, she's normally really friendly. Another 20 mins went by and I had to ask Edgar is my lens being worked on and he said yes. Doctor Cecilia brought my lens out and just handed it to me. I told her I had contacts on and if I can take them out. She then gave me a contact case, and contact solution. As I'm walking out she said, "do you still owed money?" I felt like that's all she wanted and bad customer service today. I even looked at my new lens in my old frame and she didn't even clean the old dust inside of it. I've been coming to Dr. Wong for years! She's very attentive with her eye exams. I'm very satisfied with my glasses every time.

First off I made appointment on the phone and the person who I spoke to was very rude. Went in and doctor was being kinda mean to her employees. When doctor saw us she was nice and all, but became very pushy afterwards. The doctor didn't even allow me to look for my own glasses she was just worried about selling me the most expensive glasses including as many things on the glasses. I told her I'd think about it because I felt it was super expensive, but she wouldn't budge and kept saying okay I'll give you a discount which she did and I just took it just to get out of there. I mean she was nice and all at times but sometimes you need some space. read more

Just had my eye exam and I'm so glad Dr. Wong is my optometrist! She is so polite, friendly, and caring! As we were discussing my vision and overall usage of it, she had suddenly recalled that I attend a UC to which she explained that I could use my schools health insurance to cover my costs -- as they would ultimately add up to a lot of money. Both optometrist and receptionist are very rude . I brought my son to get glasses here and I am never coming back please don't waste your time and money here . I been using glasses myself for over 15 years and this service isn't it . I don't blame receptionist I blame her environment. Aside from the attitude she was so quick only one exam was done . From experience I know several machines are used to achieve a prescription. She said my son didn't even need glasses . He has an old pair but I wanted to get him new ones and I grabbed the prescription which I'm sure is wrong and left . read more

Dr. Wong is very understanding and flexible. I had to get new contacts since I lost my current ones and that same day I was traveling out of state and needed to head to the airport soon. Dr. Wong took me in and help me with getting temporary contacts less than half and hour. I called in to see if they can fill a prescription for my glasses that are heart shaped they said yes so I drove all the way there to bring the glasses in and the optometrist looks at them and says"there's no screws here I can't do it!!" And looks at me like I'm so stupid or something she could've at least been polite and I would've been okay with that customer service should be priority just because you're a doctor doesn't give you the right to be rude.
