After many phone calls this was the only place to squeeze me in right away. The staff was great over the phone. I have a 3 month old, and had to bring her to the appt with me alone. She started getting fussy during my exam and by the end she was full out screaming. Darica, Jen and Dedra saved the day! They kept the baby company, entertained and comforted her while I finished my exam. Dr Rebuck was very thorough and knowledgeable. I had an eye exam years ago and didn't feel the Dr took enough time with me, however I had a totally different experience at R&A. Dr Rebuck made sure we found the perfect prescription. After the exam, I attempted to shop for glasses frames, but the baby needed to eat. Dedra walked me back to an empty room and let me nurse my daughter in a comfortable and private space! She even made a sign to put on the door. When we finished I could finally focus on the frames. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, so Dedra grabbed a bunch of options. She gave suggestions on colors that complement my skin, and frames that complement my face. This is my first pair of glasses so it was very helpful to have her insight. I fell in love with the first pair! Dedra sat down with me and explained/offered add on options. She made sure we made the most out of the visit and my insurance benefits. They were aware I was going on a trip and wanted to have my glasses, and ended up getting them to me just in time, which was earlier than expected! When I went pick the frames up the baby was screaming her head off again. It seems to always be around feeding time, lol! Dedra held her so that I could try on the glasses and Darica assisted with getting the perfect fit. They are all so patient, calm and helpful. As a new Mom it's easy to get flustered and overwhelmed with a screaming baby, but their genuine care made me feel everything was ok. R&A eye care is not only great at what they do, but they went above and beyond for me, and I will never forget that. They are the only place to go for eye care!

Also, in this shop, when it is a quick repair, you can watch them work on your glasses...pretty amazing craftsmen. It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

Never occurred to me that a retail optician would be closed at 5 pm M_F and on completely closed on saturday, so i went on saturday. (travel time one hour!). picked up days later at 830 am on a weekday, delaying arrival to work by also an hour. then glasses made very wrong-- total failure to include the 2.5 prism in each lens, causing me to see double while driving, rather dangerous. obviously didnt bother to check prescription on the lenses before giving to me. Brought them back a few days later (while wearing old ones) when i could manage to get there when they were open, verified by checking lens (30 second task) . sent them to remake. then lost them in transit. finally got them again. inside of a week, one lens fell out while working quietly at desk. i put it back in, seated it properly, tightened both screws very tightly. two days later, same lens fell out while i was biking. same day the other lens fell out. inserted both properly, seated clearly in the groves. switched to old glasses again. took them back (another hour travel!). was told that i just didnt seat them properly (i had, they managed to unseat themselves in 24 hours) asked for refund. will see if i actually get it so: 2 months, 6 trips, hours wasted in travel time and work vacation time AND no glasses. Back to Visionworks in Rockville, MD lousy parking, but at least their glasses work.

They had her email but the manager lied, saying they don't email and emails are automated, I've emailed them info before and they've used it right there. No apology, no effort to squeeze us in, even though I had insurance details ready. Receptionist shrugged it off like it was nothing, and the office manager acted annoyed, prioritizing other patients while dismissing us. When she finally said to the receptionist to just reschedule, she walked away mid-conversation. As we left, declaring we'd never return, the receptionists looked at each other and literally laughed at us. Zero customer service or empathy, avoid this place if you value your time. And from the looks of the review history, I'm not the first one with their "great customer service"

We were both happy with what she did, and how everything was explained clearly. Prescription eyewear selection followed and that was fairly smooth as well. I thought the frames selection was somewhat limited but I don't have anything to compare to currently. Overall happy with everything, and will return in the future.
