Unique glasses unlike anywhere else. I confess I first went to Visionworks looking for glasses. I stayed for 3 hours and left without getting anything. I walked into Village Wye Center and found a pair I loved within 10 minutes. I was able to order the lenses in the custom colors I wanted. I got magnetic clip on sunglass lenses for them and a second set of clip on made especially for migraines. After picking up my glasses I walked around for weeks saying randomly to people that I loved my new glasses lol. I still feel this way. Recently I had to change my prescription. They were happy to help me do this, and even fixed a tiny bit of damage I had caused after dropping them. They were ready faster than predicted and they're perfect. I love this store. read more

I decided to stop using Village Eye Center for eyeglasses when a clerk repeatedly criticized my ophthalmologist. She would say publicly with other people in the store that my ophthalmologist had made repeated mistakes "going back to 2019." Such behavior on her part is unprofessional and reprehensible. In today's world of eyeglasses, we customers need to rely on integrity and honesty. I think maybe that's why so many friends are getting their new glasses at places like Costco, Target, and Walmart rather than small independent places filled with unfounded accusations. I also asked Village Eye Center for my Pupillary Distance, the distance between MY eye pupils. They refused to give it to me. I've worn eyeglasses since my childhood and if you're a professional or simply view Eye-wear and Eyecare as extensions of your lifestyle and personality, this is the place for you. My prescriptions are always correct (I've experienced poorly calibrated Progressive lenses from other vendors). They take time to examine you and develop a rapport. If you want excellent service and unique glasses this is the place to visit. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They do not pressure you to buy and are excellent at helping you pick out what you want. Dr. McConarty is an excellent optometrist who is excellent at diagnosing any eye issues you might have. I've also never had such a thorough eye exam even with my simple RX. They do not carry the standard brands of glasses that you can get anywhere, they have really cool and unique frames that you will be happy you bought. read more

I can certainly award Village Eye Center five stars. They came through for me when I really needed help. Don't ask how, but I lost one lens from my eyeglasses My Eye Doctor, the shop where the glasses were originally purchased, explained that I would have to buy two lens, as they are sold in a set. The cost of each lens is $250.00 and delivery time was two to three weeks. It was expected that I could function with only one lens in the eyeglass frame. I called my Opthamologist's office asking for help and was given the name of Village Eye Center; that was the solution to all my problems. Linda, the associate at the Center, was patient and very understanding of my plight. She made several suggestions and changes, and my problem was solved within three days. Was here over the summer. Great place, great product, and great care is given to get everything right. They are the best I've experienced in their field. The only caution I would give is for the gentleman who works there (I would avoid him). He was a flippant/cavalier with me this summer when one of the nose pads of my new glasses was painfully rubbing my nose and said, 'that will go away.' It didn't and I stopped a few days later and the woman whom I normally work with looked at my glasses without my saying anything, remarked that the nose pad needed adjusting because it was 'digging in.' I have his undivided time from start to finish - about an hour total each year. While waiting for my eyes to dilate, the team at Village Eye Center always offer to show me the latest in frame possibilities, with no high pressure sales tactics. Some years I'm ready to move forward, some years I just browse. It's AOK either way with the Village Eye team. When I have purchased glasses, the service is the best there is. They charged me $8 to replace a pair of nose pads! I won't go there again. Granted, I didn't buy this pair of glasses there. But you can bet I won't be buying my next pair there. My last pair of glasses cost about $700 for the lens and $500 for the frames (my eyes are sensitive and I need quality glasses!). By charging me $8 they potentially lost out on a sale of over $1,000 from me. Plus, I would never recommend them to anyone.
