My experience was less than satisfactory. My Ophthalmologist referred me to MyEyeDr in Martinsburg, West Virginia. About the same time there was a promotion through Groupon. First, I was told by an Optician that their regular promotion was better than a Groupon and the declined to accept. Second, I have vision insurance, again I was told by two Opticians that the MyEyeDoctor regular promotion was a better deal. I purchased a pair of frames (a nice selection to choose from) and progressive lenses. Two attempts to get the lenses correct and glasses TWO months later as they do not manufacture lenses on site. I ordered a second pair using my own frames. Three efforts before the lenses were acceptable. From beginning to end FOUR months to receive two pair of glasses. I consider the Groupon to have been a scam and the our deal is better than your insurance to be fraud. I wrote to their corporate office and no reply a month later. I will not return and do not recommend MyEyeDoctor. read more

The office in Spring Mills is the absolute worst!! You usually have to wait forever in the waiting room to get in to your appointment! I have even had to reschedule at one visit because they're already half an hour into my appointment and I was still waiting to be seen! The male technician that took care of me on July 5th in the Spring Mills office at 10:45 was positively rude!! He stood at the reception desk for at least 10 minutes discussing his schedule then he called me back, proceeded to immediately leave and go to the reception desk again to discuss his schedule! The whole time wouldn't even acknowledge when I addressed him with a question. I had to actually ask him, "did you hear my question ?'"! I would try to engage in conversation while we're waiting on the "doctor ", but he was more interested in texting on his phone . Then after all that, I had my visit with a TV screen!!! No doctor, just someone on the screen! I am never ever ever going back to that place again! The dollar tree version of eyeCare!! read more

I made an appt for my daughter one week ago. We showed up 10 mins early and I was informed that they canceled our appt because I did not confirm our appt. I received 2 calls before the appt but due to the fact that I work I am not able to answer phone calls during work hours. So there new policy is to cancel appts if not confirmed. That is wrong!! We have been going to myeyedoctor for years and we have never missed an appt. Yet they punish people like us that work for a living and don't get to sit home and get a paycheck. Yes I'm pretty frustrated but I getting tired of paying out the wazoo for everything while working our butts off and getting screwed. This was my only day off this week and they can't get me an appt for my day off next week. I know this is not the employees fault and I did not take it out on her. But myeyedoctor you need to get your head out of your butts and start being a company for the working class american that pays your paycheck. Dr. Fleming and his entire office make eye exams easy and enjoyable. I haven't had my eyes checked in over 5 years and needed to get new prescription glasses. The wait time was very minimal and every employee that I encountered was friendly and helpful. I never felt like I had been forgotten or ignored. The kind lady who assisted me with picking out glasses was very patient and helped me select the perfect pair! Their glasses were surprisingly very affordable. They carry many designer brands such as Ray Ban, Coach, Valentino, Michael Kors, and Kate Spade. They also carry stylish prescription sunglasses in many brands as well. Normally I do not have an issue with MyEyeDr. The doctors are extremely helpful and nice, and typically, so are the receptionists. Today, however, the lady that I spoke with was short, ill-mannered, and condescending. To summarize... My daughter and I had appointments scheduled for this evening, due to her being in school and me having to work. When we arrived for our appointments, we were very rudely told that our appointments had been changed (without our consent), and that messages were left on my phone (they, in fact, were not). The woman that I spoke with acted as if my daughter and I were being an inconvenience to her, and spoke down to us like we were both children. It was rude, and completely uncalled for. And because of this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Drs are patient, thorough, and knowledgeable, but they need better selection of glasses for the lower priced selection, especially kids.

We purchased a pair of eye glasses for my daughter.We paid approximately twenty-five(25) to thirty(30) dollars for the extended warranty. The Sales Associate was unable to provide any literature at the time regarding the stipulations of the warranty. However, it was verbally indicated to us at the time of the sale that if any issue(s) should arise that it would be covered in full. Unfortunately, within a week one of the arms had detached from the hinge, Clearly this was a manufacturing issue. They exchanged the frame and kept the old frame. At that time we were advised that we had used the one and only frame replacement option under the warranty. It was stated to associate the frames should of been returned to the manufacturer and the warranty should have not been utilized. Upon realizing that we were being raked over the coals I requested the old frames back and was told no. The Associate stated the frames needed to be exchanged back into the manufacturer. This was so they could get credit for the frames. This matter was escalated to the regional manager that finally tried to call me back after several days and two more calls to the corporate headquarters. However, it was always a cat and mouse game with him. I finally gave up trying to reach him. I requested for the warranty stipulations to be mailed to me and was advised by the corporate office they would get it sent out. I never received anything. The following are issues were never addressed: 1.) Why were the frames taken for an exchange credit to the manufacturer? 2.) Why didn't the merchant direct us to contact the manufacture or merchant handle on our behalf? In my opinion this company stole the money for the warranty and they double dipped by collecting the warranty money and getting credit for the frames. Other places will replace frames several times if needed and not just one time, In the past years we had dealings with Alleghany optical that My Eye Dr. had taken over for at Spring Mils and Martinsburg, WV locations and there was always some type of billing issue. This place is awful to deal with. I will not refer anyone to them in the future. read more

NOTE: I delayed making this review until I could get a new appointment with another provider in order to verify my lens prescription, in order to be able to provide the comparison for services. Imagine if you will, making appointments for 3 family members with their online system weeks in advance....... only to have them call you the day prior to the appointment and say that they need to reschedule due to a scheduling problem with their online system. No problem, I understand, but when you then re-book the new appointment time with a live person, only to be called 3 hours later to reschedule yet again......Strike 1! Then imagine, taking the time to be prepared and pre-fill out ALL of the paper for your first appointment trying to make sure that your first appointment goes a smooth as possible. Show up to the appointment, and BAM, they have none of the pre-filled out paperwork that was done through their online system. So, I begin to fill out new ones, I get all the way done, and she says. "oh, there it is, sorry about that" .... Strike 2. THEN....and this is the big one....... now I have had reading glasses for a few years, nothing major, relatively weak prescription. However, I began to notice that it just wasn't enough and I was having a hard time reading with them, this is what led to our scheduling with them in the first place. So I go in, and after dealing with the first two issues noted above, AND now after dealing with the most disinterested eye doctor I have met (I don't remember her name, but she was a female doctor with dark hair), I am told that I need LESS, yes LESS prescription. When I asked, she said "yeah sometimes that happens, now let's go out pick out your frames" ....... Perplexed, I say to the next lady.... "I don't understand, I can't see with my current lenses, why would I need LESS, and why when I asked the Doctor was she so dismissive?" .........The response? "Hmmmmm.......tell you what, let me book you for a recheck with our other doctor (Dr. Flemming was the name I believe) before we order you lenses" Well that makes sense, sure, thanks! It is supposed to be for the following Monday, I take off work, arrange for child care, only to be called MONDAY MORNING advising that there was another schedule issue and they needed to move the appointment again. Enough....... Strike 3 nope! NOW THE KICKER....... Fast Forward approximately two months, and I decide I really need to get this addressed, as I am having a hard time with reading on my work PC. I book at another eye doctor, go to my appointment, and after a good 30 minutes of discussions and a more thorough exam, I now have a prescription for MORE than my previous lenses, and BIFOCALS and they are perfect, exactly what I needed. That is what bothers me the most....not only was the office a completely unprofessional mess with regards to the appointments, but to have such a diametric difference in the care and outcome of the prescription speaks volumes. Do your homework a bit before you decide on this place, yes Vision correction is not an exact science I get it, but one would think that two doctors in the same field would at least be close. read more

RUN! This place is horrible! This place is the definition of professional scam artists! They will try to bill you for your service twice although you already paid out of pocket and your insurance covered the services. Then, when you ask them to fix it, they say they will, but they don't. They just keep sending bills. Go somewhere else instead of this pathetic money hungry sorry excuse for a business. My first mistake was taking a 8 AM appointment. Any place else when you make an appointment at that time in the morning, the door is open ready for you to enter the establishment. No, you have to wait outside until 8AM on the dot to enter. All the while, the GM for the store Mitchell is opening the blinds and making himself a cup of coffee not even acknowledging someone is waiting outside in the cold. The exam itself when pretty smoothly no complaints there. And a lovely lady did adjust my glasses while I was waiting to order contacts. The manager Mitchell again was the one who was doing this transaction. He tells me that they didn't bill me correctly last year for my contacts and gave me the total due. I explained that when I was there last year I got 3 different prices for my contacts at which time to be able to pick them up I paid what they asked. I declined ordering contacts there and when to Walmart to do this. The girl in WalMart immediately saw a mistake in my prescription for contacts and called to get that corrected before ordering. I was very dissatisfied with Mr General Manager customer service and by going elsewhere to order my contacts I was able to save $80 for a year of contacts over the price I was quoted by Mitchell. read more

Most recent appointment and first time here went really well. Staff is professional and friendly. Only thing that could have been improved is the wait time. I did have an appointment so I shouldn't have had to wait so long but I was there for an hour I between the prevision and actually seeing a doctor total waiting. read more

I want to commend the manager, Brian, for fixing an issue I had with a sunglasses purchase last month. I originally ordered a pair of RayBan sunglasses from this location and told the optician that I wanted the new ones to be exactly what I already had (same polarized RayBan lenses, same coatings, same lens color), just an updated prescription. When the glasses arrived, they were the RayBan frames I had picked out but the lenses weren't the RayBan branded lenses and were not cut very well. At first I just said "oh well" and was not going to worry about trying to get the lenses replaced, but the more I thought about it the more it bothered me that I didn't get what I thought I was going to get. I contacted the manager, Brian, and he let me know that the Martinsburg location did not yet have a contract to order the prescription RayBan polarized lenses, which is why the lenses I received weren't the actual RayBan lenses. I let him know that had I known that when I placed the order, I would have bought them elsewhere. He offered to call around and see how he could get me the lenses I wanted. He ended up ordering me new sunglasses with the lenses I wanted from another MyEyeDr location with a RayBan contract and I only had to pay the small price difference between the branded and non-branded lenses. I am a happy customer and appreciative that Brian helped me get the sunglasses I wanted. Thank you, Brian! read more
