There is another approach road that has a beautiful grouping that you can drive by without getting out of your car. The trail is a bit difficult at parts, (if you have mobility issues),because of lots of tree roots and hilly areas to climb. My friend used a walking stick/came but she couldn't continue at one point. We both thoroughly enjoyed the park and the sculptures. My only disappointment was that we only found a few of the sculptures with placards to let us know the name, artist and meaning behind the artwork. The woman who was taking donations in the souvenir shop was very friendly and knowledgeable and we had a nice time talking with her.

This year I was here for part of the Outside chronicles, hiking challenge, as were other people I saw here.I hope it continues to thrive as a place for locals to be able to come and do an interesting hike with their families. The food was so yummy (burgers, chicken tenders and Fries so good) at the Lounge and the bloody Mary's at Willie's were perfect. The staff were friendly and patient! I will definitely be back!

Mainly Chris, but also the crew at S&S have given me the best customer experience I have encountered in 30+ years. Chris helped me set up my bow, tune, and fix my problems. Absolutely amazed at the the knowledge and service I received. I have become a customer for life for all my archery and hunting needs. I will make the hour plus drive to give them all my business. I can't say enough.

I brought in a new scope and rings to be mounted and bore-sighted. There were scratches on the…read morescope near both the mounting rings when I picked up my rifle. I brought this to the attention of the counter guy, his reply was "Those scratches were on the scope when you brought it in". I replied, "No I bought the scope in, still in the Leupold box with all the packing material". He still replied, "The scratches were on the scope when you brought it in". There was nothing I could do, poor workmanship and untruthful on his part. I mounted the rifle in a Caldwell Lead Sled and fired two (2) rounds at 50 yards, both rounds were touching, 14-1/2 inches low and 11 inches left of the bull's eye. I wasted money on mounting (I do not have an inch-pound torque wrench) and useless bore sighting. I will never go back there again.

(Part 4 of 1) 10/14/19…read moreI am sure an all girls school has their own crazy antics that some girls did. Nevertheless, the main thing that I would change if I were back in time, is wearing some freaking flip flops instead of walking on the bathroom floor/showers areas.  Once done, students walked or ran back to their dormitories. This could be a long walk during the cold and miserable days. During the hot times, some (including myself) walked back to the dorm in only our towels.  Some students got a huge surprise when their towels got pulled off of them. Under the wrong circumstances some women caught an eye full and laughed; as well, as other male students. Teenagers at there finest... The Resident Assistants who are high school seniors and act like supervisors for the dormitory teachers, guarded the showers and kept everyone else from using the showers.(certainly in my dorm called Templeton) Evidently the all the classmates in the Templeton Dorm did not have the guts to challenge their authority.   We were all freshmen in that dorm and we all were intimidated by the seniors. (This another thing I would change in me if I were to go back in time my 9th grade year...there was no rule where you couldn't shower in the morning, afternoon or night in Templeton...it was just the Resistant Assistants being assholes...with the exception of one or two of them later on.) There were things that some seniors did that intimidated other classmates around the school, but after my first year, I was not intimidated by anyone.  Not even the teacher that threatened to beat me up for saying some sexual remarks to his girlfriend. I did not say those things to her, but if I did, I would have told him right then and there since he was all confrontational with me. (Of course this would have lead to a darker path. One of use would be dead and the other in prison... I am glad had restraint... I don't remember if I reported him to another teacher, but I know nothing happened to him in the years I was there...)  Ahhh the things that happen at school.   Today is 10/10/19 and I am sure everyone uses the showers in their own dormitories ...(I hope so)... since both sexes now live on campus. There are a lot more memories that I am sure will come out when I write about Winter Carnival,  Orientation,  Senior Trips, Crimes&Punishments,  musicals and acting to name several things. I am happy this school is part of my life. I am not sure who I would have been if not for The Gow School.  More to come later on...

Brought the kids (6 and 4) here for a session on the Lil' Tubers hill. It was out first time here,…read morethough I've been to Colden Tubing Co. before and the experience was pretty similar. There's a belt that goes up the big hill, lights turned on/were visible on the hills around 6ish (mid-February), and after a few days hovering around the freezing point, things were pretty smooth and slick, which made for excellent tubing. It was $15 for 2 hours per child on the little hill (no charge for adults) but no one is out there policing if you're out there a few extra minutes, if your kiddos can last that long. The big hill has folks at the top keeping things orderly and safe, so I'm sure they're checking more actively for tags. We went from 530-730pm on Saturday before winter break here and it was pretty quiet on the small hill. No waiting, pick of whatever lane we wanted, etc. It was great! And the hill itself is a very gradual incline, so even my relatively reserved 4 year old had no time jumping right in. And when you're done or need a warm up, some hot cocoa with whipped topping is waiting for $4 each. It was pretty tasty too with lots of mini marshmallows! The only downside was that the walk up area to the top for the little hill, which has no automatic belt, was iced over pretty good and was a little tricky for the little ones to walk up unless they went up the far side (which they kept forgetting to do and would get about 90% of the way and then lose all traction :D). All in all, a great time and must do with the family when venturing down this way for winter sports!

Additional tractor-led wagon rides for those who want more fresh air!
