Allegiant Airlines will place a SECOND "hold" on your card (debit or credit) when you buy an ticket to fly with them. This "hold" (for us at least) has been $80 each time, and it comes out of my bank account as a transaction- meaning even though I've not purchased anything from Allegiant Airlines for $80, they are going to put a hold on my card as of I did. Both times it's taken 2 weeks for the hold to drop off and the funds released back into my account for my use. So in addition to purchasing an airline ticket, I'm also out the money for this fraudulent "hold". The airline claims to do this to "verify your card is good". WTF? You verified the card was good when the purchase of the ticket and thru successfully! You verified my card was good when I made the purchase AND IT WENT THRU! This is fraudulent and needs to stop happening. There is NO valid reason for Allegiant to place a hold on their customers form of payment for a SECOND amount, regardless of the amount! When the funds are returned to my account for my use, Allegiant isn't giving me the interest I've lost of that money. They aren't paying any NSF fees I've incurred as a result of a charge posting as a hold to my card that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE, and DID NOT KNOW ABOUT. That's right... You will find NO information regarding a second amount being processed as a temporary hold at the time you book you flight and purchase your ticket. This "hold" is NOT the same as the hold they will sometimes place on your card (terms & conditions reads that they can place a hold for $0- $80 to cover incidentals you might want later like seat selection, adding bags, flight upgrades, etc). The $80 hold I'm referring to is done to "verify" the card. That's how it was explained when I researched it. It is NOT the same hold that they place just in case you want to choose your seat later or check a bag. It's just to make sure your card is valid! Just this week we purchased a flight on Allegiant (one way) for $74. They STILL placed another "verifying the card is good" hold for $80!!!! The hold was for more than the ticket cost!! Tell me how this is reasonable? And again, there is NO MENTION AT ALL of the potential hold being placed on a card you're using, for any reason. I only learned about the customer service hold of $0-$80 after reading every line of their Terms and Conditions page online. There's a tiny part advising the purchaser that Allegiant may place this hold after you but your ticket. Information cannot be found in their Terms & Conditions about this other hold that they place, the one that has been $80 for the past two tickets we've bought. Nothing about it is available on their website, or under that's FAQ section (if there was one). This is a terrible business practice and needs to stop immediately. Not only will I not fly Allegiant every again, but I've instructed corporate travel agents to remove them from the approved airline list for all corporate travel. I've made written recommendations to other major corporations as well, citing misrepresentation to customers and fraud. I've already completed my $74 one way trip and the extra $80 charge is STILL ON MY CARD! read more

This Airline is by far one of the worst Airlines that I have had the misfortune of flying. I get it is a low cost carrier but you are nickled and dimed to death for everything. The flight out was OK however it departed late due to it not being fully gassed up. Restrooms did not have soap and water to wash your hands however Airline provided antibacterial wipes though I am surprised they did not charge for that. Fast forward to today when we were supposed to fly home. Our flight was cancelled they claimed due to weather (not sure I buy that as another carrier was also flying direct and did not cancel their flight). Sat on hold the First time 25 minutes to have them hang up on me. Called a second time and was told they would give me a voucher for another of their crappy flights or I could wait and they would put me on their next flight back in four days. I have been flying for well over 40 plus years and had a job where I traveled 95 percent for business and never have I been left waiting four days in a city I am not from incurring hotel and rental car charges along with work and everything thing else that goes into the cost of travel or get a voucher for future travel. I did speak to a supervisor and nothing. If I could give this airline zero stars I would. Crappy Customer Service from start to finish. We would have been better off going with a major carrier as in the long run this trip will cost us way more than a ticket on Delta or American would ever cost. I would have said that if you need to go somewhere on the cheap and have plenty of time to spare, allegiant is the way to go. Sadly, they do not live up to this reputation. With all the hidden fees (like having to pay for your seat and your carryon), they may not be all that much cheaper than their competition. Add to that the exceptionally poor customer service and wacky schedule and it's a wonder that they stay as busy as they do. Hopefully, they evolve and adapt to better serve the travelers. read more

This airline is notoriously late and will cancel flights within hrs of your flights. It used to be ok because the flights were inexpensive but now they have raised their prices on everything. The seats you select vary in pricing, with the exit row usually being the most expensive. They have raised their rates on the luggage and even charge you for carry on bag. Trust me this airline will fail you at least six times in a lifetime. I fly at least 6 times a year on allegiant because of their direct flights. I had the best experience with this airline and I fly quite often. The Austin terminal is sweet with a very relaxing lobby, outside dining area and a permanently parked food truck. Loved it! I can't say enough about the staff either. They were all very friendly and eager to please. People usually only tend to write reviews after a bad experience. Don't believe all the negative remarks. As low as $39 dollars one-way to my favorite city New Orleans from Tulsa. Did I mention that it is a non-stop direct flight? No other airline has a direct flight to NOLA from Tulsa. The check luggage counter did not open until two hours before our 3:37 pm flight and when I got there it was just opening up. Thirty or more people were ahead of me to check in. The line was quicker than all of the major airlines that use the kiosk style self check. I was though the long line in under 10 minutes! The ladies checking me in were super friendly. Asking me if I would bring them some food back from New Orleans. Boarding the plane about 20-30 minutes before flight time went smooth. I did notice the the MD-80 we flew on was a little worn looking. Not as shiny as the major airlines for sure inside and outside. Chips in the paint around the entrance door to the fuselage and rusty rivets as I stepped inside. Once in my seat I looked out the window and saw that the wings were missing paint also. I am thing to my self I guess paint cost money and it may raise the ticket prices. I was more concerned about the mechanical maintenance of the jet than the paint anyway. Fingers crossed! We took off on time and the flight was great! 1 hour and 13 minutes flying time. Beware the hidden costs of these discount airlines. Read the rules and play to win. Ticket prices seem to change daily up and down. My Ticket was $39 $12 extra to pick my seat $2.50 fee use my credit card instead of a debit card. Total ticket price only $53.50 $20 for a checked bag at time of ticket purchase. $50 at the gate! Yikes! They charge for carry on bags also. Unless it is small and fits under the seat. Drinks even water and soda are $2 and up. Snacks can be purchased also. They must use the baggage fees and the food and beverages to help their bottom line. I purchased a $2 water and a pita and hummus snack which was $4 and worth it. This was my first discount flight ever. I do have several other friends that have flown Allegiant and some like Allegiant and some don't. I will fly them again and check out their other flights to Vegas, DC and Florida. read more

Good news: United isn't the worst airline anymore! I took a chance on Allegiant because they were flying into a small airport right by the town I had business in. The nearest major airport was around an hour away. I will not make this mistake again. First our plane was delayed due to a broken toilet. Then it was delayed because of unknown mechanical issues in the cockpit. After two hours on the plane (some with no power or air condition), we were allowed off. Eventually we were informed the plane was "broken" and that they weren't sure if we'd be able to go out on another flight. Eventually we got the news; a flight would be coming in from across the country to take us. It would depart at 1 am. Our original departure time was 5:30 pm. I have to be at an office at 7:30 am. We weren't offered cold beverages (they did have some tiny room temp bottles of water), and all the restaurants in the airport were closed. They brought in a few pizzas, not nearly enough to feed an airplane of people. No one was informed or empowered to do their job. The people behind the desk weren't even authorized to print a boarding pass since the app broke and wouldn't allow us to view our boarding passes anymore. The gross negligence and incompetence was mind-boggling. The night turned into a nightmare of standing in various lines and getting no information. To this minute I still don't have a seat assignment for the flight despite paying extra for an exit row. Passengers who didn't want to wait at the airport for over 7 hours for the "rescue flight" were told they could call customer service and that the next flight would be leaving Thursday. Really?!? And how hard is it to provide a decent meal and some free alcoholic beverages, which you already have on board? Heck, how hard is it to have operational planes that don't break all the time? I went outside for a bit, and as I returned through TSA they mentioned this situation happens all the time with Allegiant. How are you still in business? To add insult to injury, we were offered a $50 flight voucher for our trouble. Travelers beware; don't book this airline if you value your safety, sleep, or schedule. If I had an option to give zero stars I would! I have used Allegiant four times because they're cheap. Three of the four times our plane was delayed at least an hour due to mechanical issues... One of the flight stewardess threaded to call the police on us when we landed because we had grumbled about the 2 hour delay. Mind you, it was after they talked about an engine not working. Today, they didn't bother to even tell me that my flight was changed to tomorrow. Thank god, I noticed a notification on my app. Then I booked with southwest to get out today. I've had a reservation on Allegiant since February 2020. I understand that Covid 19 has curtailed a lot of flights, but I kept checking Allegiant site and my flight was still scheduled and I received frequent emails "Your flight is only xx days away!" or, add a bag, add a hotel... Less than one week before my flight I received text that flight was canceled. I went on-line and rebooked the same flight a day earlier - the system took booking and I received email confirmation. Then two days later, three days before the rebooked flight was scheduled to depart, I received text that flight was canceled and here's a voucher, good for two years from first booking date in Feb. To add insult to injury, next day I received email from Allegiant saying, add a bag to your flight!!! This is totally ridiculous, disrespectful and insulting to run a business this way. Missed a friends wedding in Las Vegas due to a canceled flight a few hours before OKC departure. No customer service to call, can't get through. Lost $400 in room reservations that are unable to be cancelled on such short notice. Do not ever use this airline. They have a history of cancelled flights they call mechanical that leave you stranded, out major expenses then simply refund your fare with no consideration of what the cancelled weekend costs you. read more

I give a 2 star rating instead of one just because this review is more in regards to Allegiant as a whole instead of just the Tulsa location. Yes they are cheaper but keep in mind that you are limited in your flight days and times and you are pretty much paying extra for everything, but still cheaper. So you must ask yourself, what is more important, saving a relatively significant amount of money or peace of mind for your trip? If on a schedule, I would go elsewhere. Due to the reduced prices, they are virtually no extra planes or flight crews available so if something goes wrong somewhere, it is a pinball effect that can have massive effects on your flight schedules. Twice I have flown with them and both times we had delays, one for about 6 hours that made us miss an evening in Vegas and once where the flight was cancelled until the next day. Sadly, Allegiant is poorly equipped to deal with these delays as well so be prepared for hours of waiting for information and standing in multiple lines just to figure out what you need to do. read more

The worst experience my spouse and I have ever encountered with an airline. We booked a package deal with airfare, hotel, and car rental for a decent price and did everything we were suppose to. We got to the airport two hours early, waited an hour for the Allegiant staff to show up and start checking and weighing baggage; when they did show up they immediately took a break after bringing the equipment out. Once they came back, we were charged $50 for a few pounds over when we could have rearranged. After that process and dealing with unprofessional attitudes that left us with 30 minutes to get through TSA and board our plane. Once boarded, our seats were terrible, if you're taking a flight longer than an hour I would not recommend sitting in these seats. The plane we were on, an MD80 which stopped production in the 90's, and showed its age and it was very hot inside and smelled of mold. The exit doors looked they had been used more times than I could count on my hands. There was no wifi or any other type of entertainment during the flight nor was there an option for it. We land, get the luggage, head to Alamo, for the car rental, we get there and upgraded to a "sports car" the employee helping us acted as if we were wasting his time when we asked what was available. He said he had a Mercedes convertible, then he didn't, then he said he had a Mustang convertible then all of a sudden he didn't. We ended up with a Challenger, but come to find out we were charged for the upgrade we never got. Once we loaded the car, we get in and noticed the radio didn't work. Prior to the Challenger we had been waiting about 20 minutes. We tell the first employee we see he said he will be back in 10 minutes so it can be "reset". My spouse asked further questions and it turned into "I'm not sure when I'll be back just wait here". Another 30 minutes goes by, as we are getting up to leave the Challenger pulls up, the radio finally works. We get the hotel, I booked an ocean front room when I initially booked to package online and we were assigned an "ocean view" which was not what I paid for nor was it an ocean view. The ocean front rooms were booked even though I had booked it online through Allegiant. The hotel appeared so nice inside and out from the pictures Allegiant posted but in reality, we learned from locals, the hotel was supposed to be shut down. The bathtub had rust in it, the hallways were hot and smells of mold, there was hair all over the floor from the previous person who stayed in that room, and the wifi was terrible. The hotel was not well kept. We tried to call corporate to explain the situation in a professional and polite manner and the person the other end, who was in management, acted as if she couldn't hear my spouse and said "you're breaking up". She was on a landline and my spouse's call never "broke up" we could hear her just fine. When we tried to call her back directly we wasn't available. Then my spouse explained the situation again in a professional and polite manner to a male employee and he took our number and said the CEO was going to call us back and we have yet to receive a phone call. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. We will never fly with them again. There so many hidden fees that aren't in the package price. read more

we had a great experience flying with allegiant this week. we flew from tulsa to las vegas on 11/04/16 and back to tulsa on 11/11/16. the only thing that went wrong is when we landed in Tulsa there was another airplane at the gate we had to go too so we had to wait for that plane to move. we waited about 30 to 45 minutes for them to move the other plane which we understood and didnt mind waiting but the other passengers made it so miserable having to listen to the whining about having to wait. other then that there was nothing wrong with either flights. 10/10 we will be flying with allegiant again. read more
