They made extending the time super easy but when I got my bill, it was much higher than what was quoted over the phone. They saw that the system had an error in my return date, due to the extension, and re issued me a new total that was even less then before! Now the good part. I left my Costa sunglasses in the car. A $240 gift from my mother was left in a compartment when the car was returned. I filled out a 'lost and found' slip online and was told that the car was already out for another rental. Bummed I just hoped for the best. A week later I get an email saying that the car was returned but no sunglasses. TODAY I get a call saying that they did a detail clean and found them!!!! I returned with 5 minutes left with half a tank of diesel prepared to pay the penalty rate because the closest 3 QuikTrips either did not have diesel or the diesel pumps were broken. I had to wait 2 months for the car to get shipped over from JApan, but Robert stayed in touch with me weekly to let me know of any progress, And then when it arrived the pretty much gave me the price I was looking for, got me a better financing package than I was able to get myself in 2 months of applying, and matched the cash offer I had from CarMax on my trade in. When I arrived I was told they didn't have a vehicle for me because they were out of cars, but there appeared to be plenty of vehicles parked in front of their office. and they would call if a vehicle becomes available. I was also told the vehicles go to customers who book first for that day, which I never heard heard of that before. Anyways, I called their 800 number and the agent told me there was vehicles available at the Peoria Ave location so I took a Lyft to that location only to be told that location only rents to people who are sent by the insurance companies. I tried calling that store before going over to the Peoria location but nobody there answers the phone. So, I figure I'd trust the customer service agent and go down there. Of course, it was a wasted trip and money going out there. I ended up spending nearly 70.00 using Lyft service going to these locations and back to downtown. Well, you cannot self pay at tolls anymore without your PikePass sticker (which is affixed to our daughter's wrecked car). Enterprise just charges tolls to your account as they should. Hertz charged us a $169.03 "convenience fee" in addition to our $56.38 in tolls. No where in the contract did it ever mention the $9.99 price of the daily usage fee for the PlatePass. It's a total SCAM. Our insurance company even reached out to them and told them that the practice was unethical. !!!!!DO NOT USE HERTZ RENTALS!!!!!
