Location, Location, Location! As another recent review stated, staying at the Allegria is all about the location. Right on the Boardwalk with a ramp to the beach right there. We did not stay at an Air B & B because we needed handicapped accessibility, so the hotel worked out great. I booked a handicapped, double beds, and ocean view. They gave us a corner room on the eighth floor. The View was amazing! I overheard an employee saying that the rooms were recently updated. I would NOT say that the rooms were run down, but the attention to detail in the rooms and hallways is noticeably missing, particularly for the price of stay. Couple of small examples. The toilet paper holder was drooping off the wall. Every time I went to tear a piece off, the whole roll would fall. Also they placed one of the hand rails behind the toilet. Handicapped room, so great. However, they did not place it high enough on the wall for the toilet lid and seat to clear it, which caused the seat to constantly fall. Also the paint did not exactly look like it was applied by anyone that pays attention to detail. As far as the good, beyond the location and view. The staff were super friendly. I can not say enough kind words about all the staff I encountered. They were all very friendly and attentive. The room was clean. It was also easy to find street parking during the night. A day or two after we departed they sent me a text offering 25% off if I come stay again within the next two weeks. Given that I don't live downstate, that is not likely to happen. I do have to go back to Long Island next year for a wedding in Suffolk County. Given the price, I am not sure it would be worth it to stay there and travel to the wedding. Maybe if they had offered 25% off my next stay, without an expiration date, I might have considered staying there when I go back down again for the wedding. read more

We sat at a high top in the bar area on Friday night. We were never given a menu, no one showed up for 30 minutes. We saw the waitress ( unfortunately we didn't get her name) waved to her and she turned away and left. I went to the host desk and a very kind, hardworking gentleman gave us some menus. We continued to wait so I went to the bar and bought a round for the 4 of us. Finally the waitress came over and rudely said , so I see you got your own drinks. I thought she was joking and she said she would be back, I said wait it has been an hour can you take an order. She said I'll be back left and never returned. The kind host came back, took our order and we eventually got food. Unfortunately of all the items we ordered, the only thing decent was the burger. The pizza was straight out of the freezer, the bao buns dried out and the steak sandwich raw. We missed the movie on the beach. Shout out to Dennis at the bar and Karleke the host. Ambience was great! Being right on the beach in the middle of winter, watching the waves crash along the break... absolutely stunning. I think the restaurant was called Atlantic. The setting alone makes you want to stay. I can see what others on Yelp mentioned about the service. It wasn't very crowded (aside from a couple of private parties), and although servers were present, it took about 30 minutes to receive our salads and burgers. The delay didn't seem to match the volume. That said, the food was clean. Healthy and tasty. I can't take that away from them. Overall: beautiful ambience, great food, but the service didn't align with the rest of the experience. I'd go back though. read more

Another long weekend spent at the Allegria in the books! We want to applaud Sharon, Jeff and Nelly for their impeccable service and hospitality! We come here for the pool and easy access to the beach (traveling with a 3 year old). Sharon always greets us with a smile, and makes our stay comfortable! Nelly (located at the beach rentals) has touched our son's heart, she is a talented artist, ask about her seashell art . We came at a great time too for the boardwalk markets, an added bonus! I am a top tier, lifetime elite at a major hotel brand. This means that I've spent far too many nights away from home. Over the years, I've had all kinds of problems and issues at properties around the world. This easily could have been a 1 or 2 star review. Please note, many of the other reviews are not inaccurate. The hotel rooms are showing their age. But you are paying for the location, and the rooftop pool. And compared to the only other alteranatives in Long Beach, it is the best. We did have our room switched due to a number of issues, however, and this is what matters-the service. Without hesitation, the front desk and managers did right by us. Our room move was an updated room. The view was great and the people working in the hotel were great. As an added bonus, Marvel Dairy is right next door and open late. Highly Recommended. read more

The service is the absolute worst. We walked in and sat down, I walked over to the hostess stand to let them know we were here and to get a few menus. I was told someone would come help us. 15 minutes later I went back to see if someone was going to help us. I was told we had to order at the bar. My wife and I stayed here for a wedding. We arrived around 2 PM and were told that, although there were rooms ready and available, it would be an extra fee to check in before 4:00. So we decided to go to the beach. This took nearly half an hour because the hotel requires a comically elaborate multi-step process to get a beach pass-- going to another desk, waiting in line, filling out forms (yes, forms plural), and being threatened with additional fines and fees if your beach pass card is not returned on time. But we got to the beach eventually, which was perfectly nice. But upon returning to the hotel at 4:00, we found that only one of the elevators was functioning and everyone else checking in was also trying to get to their rooms. So it took us another 20+ minutes to check in and get on a functioning elevator (while maintenance worked to free a guest trapped in one of the non-functioning ones). Once in the room, for nearly $500 a night, you get the amenities and cleanliness of an average Holiday Inn. Except the WiFi didn't work. read more

I love the Alegria for how clean it is kept. The restaurant is very good. It is a One of A Kind Hotel offering modern rooms to stay and you are on the ocean and an awesome boardwalk! Patty who is the hostess in their beautiful restaurant is always accommodating, polite ,always greeting you with a beautiful smile!! Patty is know for she is "Patty Blue" in a band she sings. She would only add to Algeria's event list to have her and her band on The Roof Top of Alegria !! Been going for years This is the best I have seen it in many years!!! read more

We had a flight cancellation and were put at this hotel for the evening. The hotel was beautiful and staff was so friendly. Unfortunately, we left behind a piece of luggage when leaving for the airport and could get no help from the hotel in retrieving it. We've tried multiple times calling and leaving messages, to no avail. We cannot get a response. We are willing to pay whatever necessary to have it sent home, but no one will even return our call! read more

The flatbread tasted crispy and cheesy. The truffle fries had an amazing truffle and salty flavor. The inside was amazingly decorated during the holiday season with Christmas trees. The only two things that i didn't like were the lobster Mac and cheese and the service. The Mac and cheese had no flavor and tasted like there was no cheese. I had my daughters bridal shower at the Allegria May 9. Aside from the room being beautiful, everything else was a disaster. Despite reviewing the contract with the catering manager, Mary Cawley JUST 2 weeks BEFORE the event, THE MAIN part of the Brunch, (paid extra fee as well), a chef manned pasta station with the option of 2 types of pasta and two sauces and the following add ons to pick from; shrimp, sausage, chicken, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and/or vegetables was not served. The 2 salads, mixed green and Caesar salad, were also not served. The wait staff and host for my event were inexperienced and not properly trained. When I pointed out to the host what food was missing they disappeared and returned only at the end of the party. The catering manager was on site, was informed by personal cell phone, also did not come to address the situation until 30 min before the party ended. In addition there were no sternos placed under the food so 10 min after it was brought out it was cold. One of the few items to be brought out - egg frittatas ran out very early after meal began because there wasnt much food there to begin with and could not be replenished. We are taking about eggs not filet mignon. Why not send eggs something/anything up? Same with a salad - how long could that have taken to put together. But they decided to hide and not address any of the issues until almost the end of the event. Unbelievable poor management and service and total aggravation on a day that should have been a happy occasion. They totally breached our contract and need to refund a significant portion of the charges. I will update the post further with their response. read more

The hotel itself is very nice and the woman that greets you and the staff that brings out the food worked extremely hard. They are very understaffed with wait service. Nobody even came over. After 20 minutes, I had to go to the bar to order drinks and skipped food. The bartending staff were just rude, no hello, no thank you, literally didn't speak nor make eye contact. Odd behavior. Given the poor reviews, the business owner should make more effort improving systems than responding to reviews. read more

I first experienced the accommodations at the Allegria in 2025 at a business conference and I was very impressed by the beautiful location along the Boardwalk and beach and the friendliness of the staff! Since our daughter was planning her wedding I insisted she come take a look at the rooftop ocean views and the skyline scenery! We had her wedding at the Allegria on 5/24/26 and it was incredible! The staff was extremely supportive and helpful, even collecting our personal wedding supplies and finding lost items. They catered to all our requests from large ocean view suites to changing our table linen color on short notice. The food and drinks were superb! The scrumptious cocktail hour menu was enough alone to end the night, making it hard to leave room for dinner at the reception! Kurt, Jose, and Nisha were at our beck and call all day making sure we were happy with everything. The special extras like bridal suite brunch and lighting to match our colors made all the money we spent worthwhile (and we spent a lot). It felt like everyone on duty was there just to serve us. The only complaints I have are the rainy gloomy weather and dinner was served late; 2 hours into our 4 hour reception. I highly recommend the Allegria Hotel for all your events and celebrations! Went to the Allegria for a $99 Pre Fixe New Year's Eve dinner last night Staff was inexperienced and rude, managers were not concerned with our dining experience. We were seated for 20 minutes and only got water. Waiter asked for our dinner choices before we ordered drinks. Subsequent cocktails were purchased at the bar because waiter service was unreliable. I ordered the soup and I had to ask for a spoon since I didn't get one and when I started eating, my spoon was in the bottom of the bowl! Food was awful, my friend ordered filet mignon and it was like shoe leather. She sent it back and was told they were all out of steaks. Waiter made a comment to us that "$99 was nothing" - no wonder gratuity was included in the price! One manager told us he would cover the first rounds of drinks and a the end of the night we got a bill for those drinks. Discussed it with another manager and he didn't believe us. We were not able to locate the other manager. We were told we wouldn't be charged. There were multiple events going on in addition to the New Year's Eve dinner- a wedding and a birthday party. Someone said they have new management - seems like they will run this place into the ground. Too much greed, not enough service. Our party of 7 will never go back and won't recommend it to others. read more

Went to long beach for two nights three days and this is the hotel we chose, it was not in high season so it was very easy to get in, loved that it was ocean front, you parked on the street but when we went there were plenty of parking spots available. The most I liked It was pet friendly, traveled with my dog and got him in with not issues, then they upgraded us to a nicer room that we initially had, to a room with partial ocean/city view. Beautiful and comfortable room all over, you can walk to the boardwalk by the beach that was mainly what we did, and also we walked through town. Had a spacious gym, and they had a good selection of food in the lobby, we arrived late night so that was we could eat, and I'm glad they had a good selection for food ready to eat, even late late. Also met with friends at the hotel restaurant for Sunday brunch, food was delicious all over, and at night we went to their bar, I ordered a Long Island Iced tea just to try it in Long Island, the ambiance was so lit, it was nice to sit down at the bar by their fire place, just right after sunset and enjoy the ocean twilight. I really enjoyed my stay at Allegria and recommend them if you ever go to that area, or even if you want and alternative to the big city. read more

I was here to stay for a friend's wedding (not held here, but the brunch was held on their rooftop venue and the block of rooms was hosted here). Overall, beautiful rooftop, convenient to a scenic boardwalk and the beach is literally right there, but could use some improvement. Pros: Beautiful rooftop venue (we were there for a wedding brunch) with panoramic views of Long Beach and the boardwalk. The scenery was truly breathtaking especially in the morning and sunset. Catering for brunch was pretty good. Room was clean, everything functioned fine. Bed and bedding was clean. Floor was clean (yes, my socks were clean walking through the room). Cons: As mentioned in some reviews, the rooms have some wear and tear. The room I got was fortunately new(ish) but it seems like the wedding guests got rooms in the "quiet" wing so I'm curious what the loud wing is like then. Wear and tear includes cracks on the sink, and the door wouldn't open the whole way (probably indicative of uneven sinking of the building?) Can be loud even in the "quiet" wing. For example, the doors all need a heck of a slam to shut. So it's not surprising that when a wedding after party ends late at 1AM, all you hear is bang bang bang of doors. ' Restaurant was only serving cold food due to an issue with their stove. They also gave me a menu with no prices (??) and I had to look up the prices on (where else) Yelp. While the food wasn't bad (I had a cajun seared tuna wrap that was actually pretty good), it was a bit pricey and a really narrow selection of things. Got locked out of the room when I left for the first time - one card was activated and the other card they gave me was not. Front desk was quickly accommodating though thankfully because I had my ID. The building is not the most secure IMO. There's adjoining rooms which isn't my favorite thing to see as a female traveler, the elevator doesn't require key card which is surprising for a high-end new-ish hotel, and access from the public boardwalk seems to be at free will / no key card required. read more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and, unfortunately, left disappointed with the overall experience. While the bed was comfortable & the location was prime, the rest of the stay didn't meet expectations, especially given the price point. I booked through Vio, and at no point was I informed of an additional resort fee--$120--for what essentially amounted to one full day of access (Saturday) and only about three usable hours on Sunday. That felt excessive and poorly communicated. Housekeeping was another major issue. When I returned to the room around 5:45 PM on Saturday, it hadn't been serviced at all. I called the front desk and requested towels, which were delivered. I also specifically asked for housekeeping to return after we showered, but no one ever came. By the time we got back around midnight, the room still hadn't been touched. Regardless of whether the hotel is at capacity, when you're paying over $350 per night, basic housekeeping should not be optional. On Saturday morning, we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast at 10:30 and were told the only option was the buffet--which was overpriced and underwhelming. However, we saw a table that arrived at 10:45 ordering from the menu, which was frustrating and inconsistent. There are certainly some positive aspects to the property, but based on this experience, I wouldn't return or recommend it. read more

This was my 3rd time visiting Allegria Hotel located right on the boardwalk in Long Beach, Long Island. I have never stayed at this hotel, I only went for drinks at the bar in the lobby after watching the most beautiful sunset. I usually order the Long Beach Coffee served with white rum, espresso vodka, tequila and Bailey's Irish cream. It's just a magical and powerful drink. I really enjoyed the taste and I felt like the flavors danced in my mouth. The hotel's lobby is massive with this beautiful white piano, elegant decoration and interesting pieces of artwork. It just happened that on the Friday evening we visited they had live music which was just fantabulous. read more

This past summer we were heading to DMB at Jones Beach so we splurged and stayed the weekend in Long Beach, we chose the Allegria Hotel since it was right on the boardwalk! We showed up an hour early so they said they would text us when our room was ready, which they never did. But we hadn't had lunch so went out instead and by the time we returned our room was ready. It was a beautiful July day so we headed to the rooftop pool, it's not very big and was a bit crowded so we just sat and chatted. Later we decided to rent bikes and ride the whole boardwalk a few times, this boardwalk is used by the locals so make sure you follow the riding and walking lanes NY'ers can get pissed with tourists not following their rules on the exercise trails - I've noticed this in the parks as well throughout the years. We rode for over 6 miles so my wife was happy to get a little exercise on after sitting in the car so long! The end of the night got extremely foggy so we walked the hotel. read more

First the location is great, right on the beach but of course it's NY in December so no swimming but we did take a walk on the Boardwalk. We were in a junior suite with two bathrooms, a living room area with a dining table. Our suite was beautiful and clean, beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very modern. We began our stay with a big problem. Expedia made a big mistake with our rooms. Instead of booking us for one room for two nights. It booked us for two rooms on one night, and the night was the NEXT one. And we paid in advanced. In theory we were totally messed up. We paid, but had no place to stay that night and two rooms to stay in on another night. Add to that we couldnt find the confirmation emails that probably would have proved Expedia's mistake. Add to that we arrived the day before Thanksgiving and the hotel was pretty much fulled and a big wedding and other events on the calendar. After the front desk told us that we had a big problem, or 2 or 3, we called Expedia which, although they seemed to try, could not confirm our "story" and couldn't help us out. BUT then the front desk director Ruben Bardales asked us to hand him our cell phone and after about 15 minutes of him explaining and explaining again, he resolved the whole problem. It probably was just a technical glitch but if he hadn't taken over and employed his super friendly yet very official businesslike style, we would have taken the loss of the money and headed out to find another place. It would have been a terrible start to our Thanksgiving holiday. When our kids were young, they loved this movie called HOW ERNIE SAVED CHRISTMAS. They did say there were beach shops around but hubby had the credit card and was MIA. So I just tried to salvage my experience and went to the beach. They charge a daily resort fee when no amenities are available. no pool/ no rooftop; no bikes; no beach chairs. Nasty Sharon even refused to give us a beach towel. What a racket?!! They charge for ocean view except that there's NO view due to the scaffolding. Scam alert!!! NEG points for no culture of service. Staff was nasty.
