So glad I got a second opinion. 3 weeks ago I went to my regular dentist Dr. Patel, for a cavity. He was not concerned and said my problem was a dead molar, and referred me to his guy for molar problems who was out of network and quoted $600 for the extraction. I got a second opinion. Not only did Patels office do the x-rays and sensitivity test wrong (the root was not visible & he held the ice cold liquid on the healthy tooth and said the pain meant it was dying. No. The healthy nerves were just screaming. 2nd opinion said under no circumstances should you hold the liquid on a tooth!) So there's nothing wrong with the molar he was going to have "his guy" remove.. and completely ignored the cavity that was very much real and an actual problem. I genuinely wonder in dentistry, Is there a referral bonus or something that would entice a Dr. to misdiagnose you on purpose to get a kickback? Why else would he do everything so terribly incorrectly, because I can't fathom after that much school and that many years in practice, you'd miss that much in a row.
