Called on a Friday afternoon and had an appointment for Monday morning. The staff was so nice. I wasn't nervous at all. From the check in to paying my co pay. Everyone was amazing. I had the woman dentist- forgot her name, her and the 2 assistants were amazing and I felt nothing at all. I hope I don't need to go back but they're awesome I do need to!!!

I knew it would be difficult. I made the appointment and was asked if I wanted two appts - one with a consultation and one with the extraction. Well of course I didn't want TWO appts, I just wanted to get it done. I did not get a consultation, but when I asked the receptionist why it would be needed, she said "You know to discuss what is needed for your tooth." Well they had an Xray from another dentist. Seemed a waste of time to me. I told them about the anxiety when I made the appt ("I have extreme anxiety, so I may need addtl support during this"), I told them when I showed up (I have anxiety, I need whatever you can provide to make this easier). I told the nurse. I told the doctor. I told everyone who would listen I needed as much support as they had. Everyone nodded. There was no nitrous, no offer of sedation, no additional support beyond "we can numb you longer" which, bless them, is not really helpful when you have severe anxiety. I cried while they extracted it, but I held very very still while crying, except for the trembling, because my childhood taught me to be still during traumatic moments when I am being hurt. There were no blankets offered, no headphones available, no tvs, no distraction. Nothing at all really. Just me in a freezing cold room having trauma done to me. Does it make it any better that my insurance paid for it? Not really. I like to think Dr Castaneda would have offered nitrous or additional supports if they were available to the practice. I would have paid for any of it, no question - we could have afforded it. So clearly they just...don't? Which is awful, really. Not even one sad faded poster on the ceiling for me to stare at instead of a bright light. We are full time nomads. I saw a gyno in Austin, TX who had nitrous for the anxious. Too bad they didn't offer dental work. Spent the evening sobbing and being held. Thanks for the trauma. Will bring it to my therapist next time we meet. (three stars were for getting the tooth out, I suppose, which needed to happen, but holy crap is this going to take time to process)

Finally, Monday came and the receptionist Isabella was able to squeeze me in that same day. Dr. Skoly and his staff were so attentive, polite and extremely helpful. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Skoly and his staff. It's been 1 day since they removed my wisdom tooth and I feel a BIG difference. I'm now able to talk, eat, basically open my mouth without it causing me pain. I will be recommending everyone I know to this practice. -My health insurance didn't cover this so I paid $325 out of pocket -I needed a referral to see Dr. Skoly so I was quickly able to obtain that from my dentist and the receptionist Isabella at Dr Skoly's office was able to squeeze me in a couple hours after I got the referral.

It wasn't covered by Insurance the girl said. But they didn't tell me was they could only charge me 1900 because that's what my insurance would charge. I had to argue with them a few times to get my money back. Took me quite a long time to get my $1150 back as well!!!! After the surgery, the girl at the desk gave me the wrong info on how to take care of a sinus lift and bone graft. She gave me the instructions on extractions of teeth. When I was going to go back, I ended up getting very sick of the night before getting no sleep severe stomach issues. The girls at the desk told me that I would be charged $75 for not calling 48 hours in advance... I told him that would've been impossible since I had no idea I was gonna pick up a stomach bug 48 hours in advance. I just couldn't believe it. They told me I could get a doctors note oh my gosh, I was modified at how rude and dishonest the office help was.

They were thorough and took x-rays ahead of time, clearly explained the images to us, and educated us about how his roots were not very long, but that if we waited, they could potentially grow longer, and the teeth would be harder to extract. On the day of the procedure, they gave my son anesthesia before numbing his gums with Novacaine which made the procedure nearly painless. They completed the procedure in about a half hour at the most. They kept my son sitting upright in a chair in the recovery room for another half hour before the anesthesia finally wore off and he was able to walk out of there. They made sure that they supplied us with gauze pads, a syringe, clear discharge instructions, etc. Pro tip: check your insurance plan to see how much you have left of your deductible before scheduling your appointment. My son had a few fillings earlier in the year which used up a good portion of his deductible. If you schedule your dental procedures in different calendar years, you will pay less.

Didn't seem too interested in my problem and was meh about doing a biopsy on a new lesion in my mouth. He spent more time making sure he had the right CPT codes than addressing my issue.
