From the consultation to the actual procedure, the doctor and nurses clearly explained what to expect for my 18 year old son's wisdom teeth removal. They were thorough and took x-rays ahead of time, clearly explained the images to us, and educated us about how his roots were not very long, but that if we waited, they could potentially grow longer, and the teeth would be harder to extract. On the day of the procedure, they gave my son anesthesia before numbing his gums with Novacaine which made the procedure nearly painless. They completed the procedure in about a half hour at the most. They kept my son sitting upright in a chair in the recovery room for another half hour before the anesthesia finally wore off and he was able to walk out of there. They made sure that they supplied us with gauze pads, a syringe, clear discharge instructions, etc. Pro tip: check your insurance plan to see how much you have left of your deductible before scheduling your appointment. My son had a few fillings earlier in the year which used up a good portion of his deductible. If you schedule your dental procedures in different calendar years, you will pay less. read more

Didn't seem too interested in my problem and was meh about doing a biopsy on a new lesion in my mouth. He spent more time making sure he had the right CPT codes than addressing my issue. Will not go back. Would not recommend at all. PS: if I were looking to have a breast augmentation I would not see a oral surgeon. read more

During the first appointment for my wisdom teeth dr. Mo Banki was dismissive to my concerns and just seemed like he was trying to be "hip" or "cool". I told him I didn't want any hard drugs because I was concerned about addiction and he said "well don't pick them up". This is why people form addictions. I needed a medication for another medical problem I have which this surgery would effect. I told them a total of 3 times, at first appointment, before they attempted to sedate me and before I left. I advocated for myself and was ignored. Surgery day came and he came into the office, put an Iv in my arm with NO GLOVES.He was moving so fast between patients I didn't even see if he washed his hands. They attempted to sedate me and gave up. After making me wait 1 hr past my appointment time they said we had to reschedule because it was past my appointment slot since I didn't get to sleep. The amazing, caring, kind, compassionate Anesthesiologist has nothing to do with this. He's the only one that talked to me when I was clearly scared, stayed with me, and explained things to me. After they failed to sedate me, the dr. said he can do it with local anesthesia. He gave me shots on both sides of my mouth. He immedietly went to pull my tooth and I felt sharp intense pain. I told him to stop and was crying. He got mad at me because he said "look at how much I already gave you I can't just keep giving you novocaine. " He went to another patient and pulled the teeth there and returned. He gave me more on my right side and it ended up working fine. He immedietly went to pull my left side and I flinched in pain and was bawling my eyes out at this point. THE LEFT SIDE WASNT NUMB. he used half as much on my left side and didn't even attempt to stop when I was in excruciating pain. Finally both teeth were pulled it was done. He left the room and said I didn't need to be in the recovery room. The anastasiologist stayed by my side. and I asked if I could go home since dr. didn't say anything. we went to front desk to get checked out and found out that nobody gave me after care instructions, new gauze for my mouth, gauze to take home, etc. Overall he is dismissive, terrible bedside manner, rude, and going to be responsible for people's addictions. I'm traumatized by this experience and never experienced something so terribly medically. I hope you do not use these people for surgery. read more

He has absolutely NO technical skills..nothing! 4 times trying to correct his mess of a neck lift and couldn't do it! Long story short- my son had to have oral surgery at 13 with his braces on, then again to have his wisdom teeth removed at 13 while his braces still on. I was a wreck, but being an RN, I had to trust the referral of his Orthodontist. Well let me tell you, I was so pleased with the care at MSL- they took superb care of him, that when I needed an oral surgeon for a tooth extraction, I made an appt for myself! I had to have a dead tooth extracted that was embedded in the sinus and Dr. Paletta took care of it without any complications. The intake staff is professional, prompt, and answer any questions you may have. The staff/medical assistants who are working with you are wonderful. They are knowledgeable and friendly. You actually FEEL secure and at ease that everything will be ok. Dr. Paletta very prompt and explains directly the plan of care. The check- out staff very efficient and friendly even when very busy. I am so relieved I am a patient here and I am still being treated without any complications. The staff always calls to check on me after a surgical procedure (even though I know what to expect). Teeth fish and wisdom Nobody enjoys going to places like this and the mere thought is enough to make brave men shudder and whimper. However at times it is necessary and if you have to have someone yank, dig and pull at sensitive things inside your mouth it might as well be as pleasant as possible. Wisdom teeth are annoying at best and can hurt like @#$% at their worst. Sometimes they can be sort of ignored and lived with but at other times you just have to get rid of the damn things and MSL is really good at yanking annoying and painful things out of your mouth. They were very efficient, professional and right to the point. Not a lot of platitudes and foolish talk. You go in, get the procedure done and then leave. They give you plenty of time to recover and make sure everything is all right but don't talk your ear off with a lot of nonsense and crap you don't want to hear. The building is quite nice with cool and odd plants all around the outside and the waiting room has a huge salt water fish tank to watch while you worry about what's about to happen. Even have coffee available for those waiting. No, it wasn't a pleasant experience and I suspect they do other things in that office that are even less pleasant. But having a wisdom tooth yanked here is about as quick, easy and painless as possible. They really know what the are doing and take great care to do it well. You even get to watch some pretty fish swimming around while you wait and worry. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Dr Banki and staff. From the man at the front desk to the assistant, to Dr. Banki himself, I was treated wonderfully and greeted in such a friendly manner that I almost forgot I was there for an extraction. During the extraction (which I never had before) Dr. Bankey put me at ease and explained exactly what he was doing again in a friendly and personable manner. I will go back to him for anything and recommend him to anyone. Excellent experience despite my fear of extraction and pain! On 10/31 my daughter had 4 teeth removed at MSL Facial and Oral Surgery. The Dr was over 40 min late and my daughters entire procedure took less than 15 minutes from start to finish. The front desk demanded my husband pay $700 on the spot. Despite his request for a detailed breakdown we did not receive one until the following day. Upon review I noticed we were billed for 4 - 15 min intervals of anesthesia at $175 each totaling $700 in anesthesia charges. My daughter was NOT under anesthesia for more than 10 minutes total. I attempted to resolve this with MSL and was told that as a courtesy they would refund only 1 - 15 minute charge of $175. This is anesthesia fraud. read more

The only reason I went to this place was because I had a crack in my tooth and it was an urgent situation. The referrals from my dentist had huge wait times and I couldn't wait months to have an extraction plus an implant. This office seemed organized and clean and the front desk were pretty good, although way more concerned about getting my money than customer service. On the day of my initial procedure it was like a circus back in the treatment room. People running around, no communication, no bedside manner. No one told me what was going on. The young tech didn't even tell me he was putting in my IV and it took him FOUR times to get it in. I have severe dental anxiety so this whole process was my worst nightmare. They never told me when they would administer the anesthesia but once they saw me crying they knocked me out asap. The next thing I knew I was awake and spent all of five minutes in recovery before they hustled me out to my car. I could hardly keep my eyes open or use my legs! AWFUL. As it turned out the implant didn't "take" and two months later they told me it needed to come out. They told me they'd call in pain meds but the pharmacy never received the script. This place is like a McDonalds for oral surgery. Get 'em in and get 'em out. Also, I had to wait 45 minutes in the waiting room for the second procedure which was ridiculous. The place was packed with patients. I am supposed to return for the completion of my new implant but there's no way I'd step one foot in there. If I could I'd give them zero stars. read more

They fit me in the same day my dentist asked for an appointment. The staff is very nice, and Dr. Banki immediately put me at ease. I have bad mouth chemistry, so this was not the first tooth I've had removed, but it was the most painless procedure. He told me what he was doing as the procedure went on, a welcome change from oral surgeons who leave you in the dark with no idea how long things will take. I would highly recommend them except I have a few remarks: They sent me home with instructions to use OTC pain meds. When the office anesthetic wore off, the OTC stuff, Advil, was helpless against the pain. I guess they avoid things like Vicodin, which is what I have always been prescribed before by other oral surgeons, due to all the worries about addicts, I don't know, but the pain level was horrible. It only calmed down three days later. Dr. Banki disappeared from the room without my even realizing at first that he had left right at the end of the procedure, so I had no opportunity to ask him a couple of questions about what had happened. For example, my regular dentist had said there might be bone damage in removing the tooth if the tooth broke, which it did. If, God forbid, I have to lose another tooth, I will go back there, but talk to them first about the pain med situation. It seems to me that a prescription pain med for three days is not going to cause addiction when the person obviously has a tooth that has to come out. read more

Meh. I had a tooth extraction here about a month ago. Pros: Easy to schedule an appointment: I ended up there because it was an urgent situation. Also,nice and clean office (free coffee and water bottles). Cons: The wait time is ridiculous. The young staff need better customer service (e.g. Don't refer to patients as room number,etc). The Dr should have better bedside manner. I usually read reviews here on yelp before going somewhere & I find it interesting how the 'not so good' reviews this place had are no longer here. The worst part of my experience was the fact that my healthy aching molar did not need an extraction. The surgeon never even questioned it and had the XR in front of him. Turned out my pain was caused by my bruxism. My dentist and staff at the office couldn't believe it was extracted without consulting with him first. read more

Call me fastidious, call me extremely anal. I do my homework and when I finally make my decision I know it's the right one. After several consults with other surgeons and interviewing them thoroughly, I knew Dr. Banki was the right doctor to perform my blepharoplasty. He was patient with me, and explained every detail and I never felt rushed. I knew what to expect, how to expect it and when to expect it. When the procedure was done I was so thrilled with the outcome. He is so kind, trustworthy and has excellent surgical skills. He is a brilliant man! His office and staff were equally as impressive; the office was beautifully decorated, clean and impeccably organized. His staff was kind, professional, attentive and worked as a unified team. Hours after my surgery his office called to check up on me and answer any additional questions I may have. Another thing I loved is that Dr. Banki gave me his personal cellphone number and told me to call if I need anything. I don't know many doctors that would ever make themselves so available to their patients. Dr. Banki saw me the following day for my post-opp follow-up and was extremely thorough. He spent 25 minutes with me and answered all my questions rather than rushing in and out. I truly can't say enough kind things about Dr. Banki and his staff. Really great experience. I was incredibly nervous going in to get my wisdom teeth taken out and the staff made normal everyday conversation with me to distract me fear and gently put me to sleep. My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed and the office staff were uncaring, slightly rude and rushed. A while after returning home, my daughter became very nauseous and we suspected it was from the antibiotics. I called and my call was returned about an hour and a half later by a clinic nurse. She was very rude on the phone. She said it was probably the pain meds and to just give her like 4 Motrin or so. I requested a prescription strength Tylenol and she behaved like I was making her so much work. She eventually agreed to send a script. I asked about switching the antibiotics and she said to just stop taking them. That they aren't necessary. She didn't even know what kind they gave my daughter. She said the kind she'd switch her to would be clindamycin which was more likely to cause nausea. I said that was the kind they had given her. She was like "just stop. If she's sick then just don't take them, they aren't important. " Then why were they prescribed? The whole conversation I felt like I was bothering her. I have 2 more children that need their wisdom teeth out within the next few months and I will definitely not come here ever again! read more

Had my wisdom teeth taken out 10 days ago. I developed a sharp pain about 4 days after so I called them and asked if I could come in. The woman on the phone told me to wait a few more days then come back because "it doesn't sound like dry socket to her" I could not eat or drink anything because of how painful it was. The next morning I called and demanded to be seen. I went in that day and the doctor told me I had dry socket exactly what the woman told me she didn't think I had. They put a medicated gauz in my socket (which was EXTREMELY painful) and told me that all the pain would go away now and the socket will heal normally. The pain went away for 12 hours and came back worse than ever. It's the weekend now so I can't even call them. 10 days and I am still not able to eat ANYTHING not even soft food and drinking water hurts. I am down 10 pounds in 10 days due to this. I will not go back to go through that pain again for 12 hours of relieve. The staff is very rude everytime I call and make me feel like my issue is not important. Everyone I had talked to that has been here all got dry socket too and did nothing like myself to get it. They're doing something wrong. Don't come here for wisdom tooth extraction !!!!!! read more

Don't see Dr banky. I saw him at the attleboro office and it was the worst experience with any medical professional I ever had. The more upset I got the more I got yelled at about how he was a good "surgeon not a dentist With a good reputation 99% of the time". But his actions proved the exact opposite. The more upset I got the angrier he got. When I was waiting for my money back you could here how mad he was by slamming and throwing things in the back. This was my second time having wisdom teeth taken out but with a different doctor (I'm sorry surgeon he made sure to keep telling me he was a surgeon not a dentist) and what I experienced in that office was nothing like the first time. We couldn't get past the novacaine because he just wanted to hurry and get it done. He also kept saying I went against his medical advice. He literally gave me no advice at either appointment he was happy I was doing local because it was "quick and easy" he neither question or advised me on what procedure to do. A truely traumatizing situation I keep having flashbacks. I will be filing a real complaint as well. read more

I never write reviews so I'll make this quick. I broke a molar that became infected. My dentist (Dr. Page - also excellent) referred me to MSL and I couldn't be happier with the care received. I was promptly given an appointment followed closely by a surgical removal followed closely by a follow up call just to make sure all was going AOK.
