The car's not fancy but is paid off and drives well... thanks to JB Auto. It's much better thanks to some recent repairs. They replaced the oil pan gasket, and now the small leak is gone from the garage floor (Goo Gone had cleaned the concrete just fine; I just wanted the leak to stop). That provided a side benefit that, removing the pan enabled all the oil and the grit and grime from the 100,000 miles to also leave the engine. Then we confirmed two of the three engine mounts were worn down, so JB replaced them, too. The car now runs and sounds smoooothe.... so nice. Thank you, JB Auto, for keeping the car running so well! 2017: Our car required no repairs for eight years, but a few these past couple years. After the last repair we explored trading-in for a new car. I wanted some more confidence in our decision. I knew J&B from driving past it, next to Ballwin City Hall, on a regular basis, but just hadn't called them until now. I explained that we just needed to make a "should we keep it or trade it in" decision. Grant helped get us scheduled quickly. Their review was a good one, thorough and competent. It happened to also provide good news... the car is incredibly solid now, and may just need a couple things as it approaches the 100,000 mile mark. That was comforting overall, and on the pocketbook. We look forward to returning to J&B as soon as we do need repair work and do recommend them to others, for their honesty and straight-forward way of making sure the cars we drive keep running. They basically just did not want to do the work even though I was willing to pay the price and then outright lied to me about how it had to be done. I went to Dobbs and watched the guy install both sets of rights in 30 minutes. I should have known better when my mom brought her 7 series of here and they wrote her seat controls and just told her these things happen. If they didn't want the work they should have been upfront and not gave me the run around

They have not owned up to the poor repair and lack of communication.

It can save you from being scammed by THOUSANDS of dollars. Technician Christopher J claimed I needed a transmission rebuilt $3-4k+ Took it elsewhere since NONE of the symptoms he noted were true. My car never made the noises or issues he stated. First red flag I saw on the advisories was the mileage hadn't changed. How was a diagnosis with his detailed notes made without driving it out. There was no oil leak, oil levels were not low and no engine replacement had been made. Took it to a DECENT small mom and pop transmission shop and after a more in depth diagnostic it ended up being a Throttle body issue. Which cost me $700 (including a thorough diagnostic) to fix the actual problem not $4k+ for a transmission rebuilt that would NOT have fixed my car's issue. I will let every single person I encounter know about how deceitful and unethical your establishment is. I have already forwarded these unethical practices with BBB and FTC. I might still file a complaint with Corporate. Although the rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Took in my 2007 Mercedes Benz CLS 550 84k miles,for rough idle and check engine light…read more Diagnosed as bad O2 sensor and damaged ECU unit. ECU damaged by heater in O2 sensor shorting out. Requires O2 sensors ,all 4, which makes sense and a new ECU for a total of $7900.00. Chose not to repair at this price. Had all 4 O2 sensors replaced at a local garage near me. No more issues after that, ECU is ok. I feel the $3972.06 charge for an apparently not needed ECU was either incompetent diagnostics or ............draw your own conclusion. The 4 O2 sensors, OEM, plus labor to install was under $700.00. While there the oil and filter were changed, original diagnostics charge Totaled $390.09 which was fine. If I just generalize here with approximations $7900 minus $400 minus $3900 still leaves roughly $3600 for a job that was under $700.00 elsewhere. Not a positve experience, walked away feeling very suspicous of the accuracy of the diagnosis and the price of the repair, wont be back , will stick with the MB dealer from now on.
