In June, the owner, Krieg, came out to address a problem with our LG refrigerator/freezer's icemaker. He was assigned the job from my American Home Shiled warranty service. He ordered and installed a new upper left door that contained the ice maker. At about the same time he replaced the door, the light for our lower freezer compartment went out. Since it was full, we could not see where that light was coming from. As we slimmed down the freezer contents, we could not find a light bulb and discovered that it was controlled by the upper door that Krieg had replaced. I made at least 5 calls requesting Krieg call back and come out to set up that light for the freezer he overlooked when he was out. He never had the professional courtesy to return a call and correct what he messed up. My only alternative is to spend another $150 deductible with AHS and have another company come out. For a retiree, that is not worth it. No one should do business with an owner like Krieg, who treats customers that way. read more

My first time using Allen's Appliance Service, and I will use them again if needed, They said they would be here between 9-12, Keith called at 9 and said he was on his way. (If I was ready for him). Once Keith arrived, I explained what my washer was doing, leaking and sounding like a plane within the last 10 mins of the wash. Keith looked it over advised that it is the bearing, ( which confirmed our suspicions) and took photos to show me the damage the leak had done. Which had rotted the tub of the washer. Needless to say I will be replacing the washer, instead repairing. Big shout out to Keith he is very professional, honest and informative. read more

Requested a service at my house for my refrigerator, because I was getting low pressure on my water line. So it takes maybe 4 minutes to fill up a full cup of water. Technician came early and was very friendly. He gave the fridge a 30 minute look over and told me it would cost 600 dollars to fix the issue. Said it needed a new filter housing, a new filter, and a new water valve for the ice machine. Which is weird, because earlier he said the filter was fine but whatever. He brought up the water valve which is part of the ice maker because instead of shutting off in exactly 8 seconds it stayed open slightly and dripped. So we would see a decrease in ice production and ice quality. He pulled out the ice container which was absolutely brimming, couldn't be fuller, and pointed out some "inadequate" cubes. For a 30 minute investigation, and no actual fix for anything that was 130 bucks. If I wanted to schedule an appointment to have them order the parts and comeback that would be another 600. So in total looking at 730 to fix the fact that water is dispensing slowly and we have inadequate ice production. I cannot believe a 30 minute investigation to locate an issue costs 130 dollars. That off the bat is insane to me, there was no parts cost and 30 minutes of labor what the hell are they paying these techs!? Then to fix the issue it would be another 600 dollars for a filter housing, new filter, and water valve? In the techs defense, he did say I could cut 100 bucks off the bill by buying the filter myself and not using their up-scaled product pricing. Honestly, the tech was cool and I feel like he did a good job at assessing the issue, my problem is with the insane pricing. I won't be following up on the invoice. I also really don't like when booking an appointment online it gives you no price what so ever. It doesn't once mention the price you need to pay to have a tech just to come look at the appliance. That should of been a red flag for me, but I thought eh maybe 60 bucks or something to diagnose the issue. Anyway I won't use them again, way overpriced, will find something more reasonable. read more

LOVE!!! My washer wouldn't get up to speed to properly drain my clothes so I went in search of the best repair man on Yelp. I saw that Allen's had 5 stars so, I sent them a message this morning around 8 or 9 and the technician was at my house by noon. He ran every diagnostic he could and tested my washer to make sure it was working perfectly before he left. He spent maybe 30 minutes checking things out but ultimately, all it needed was to be re-leveled. One might think $89 service fee is a lot of money for a simple fix, but they offered to come back free of charge (other than parts, obviously) within 30 days, if my washer acts up again. I called this morning, got voicemail message said "I am probably on phone with another customer, leave your name and number and I'll return your call" I left name and number and it's now 5:30 PM and no call back. I'm in business myself, and I wish I could be so aloof that I didn't need to return my customer's calls. However I value each and every one of my customers, and I don't let them hang. Kieth was out again to work our Samsung problem child refrigerator. Can't complement him enough. Great technician, professional, informative, and a just plain old great guy. I've been calling Allen's for a couple of years now for the frequent Samsung problems inherent to Samsung. Wouldn't use any other company for my appliances. read more

They started charging just to come out and diagnose any issues, which I understand . However, they don't apply that charge to the repair service parts and labor as many other services do. read more

Ruined my EASTER. My refrigerator stopped working and I made an appointment with Allen's for Friday between 12-3. I kept watching for the repair tech, eager to save the food. I kept scolding myself that I should have asked for a call first like I usually do. I got excited at the unknown phone call thinking maybe.... There was no one on the line when I said "hello" four times - another spam call. I blocked it and kept watching for the repairman. At 4, I called to see why they had not shown up. TIFFANY practically yelled at me "YOU hung up on our technician!" I checked my phone and he tried to call twice within one minute and then just didn't bother to come to my house. My appointment was at the house NOT the phone. She then proceeded to tell me that he had gone home and they could make another appointment for MONDAY. So, it's the Friday before EASTER, they knew my fridge was not working and let me sit there for 4 hours waiting for repair and didn't bother themselves. They may do good work but they have to show up to prove it! read more

Was already an established customer with this company so when the Tech failed to show up or call for a pre-arranged repeat visit on the same appliance, I called the office. The same person that took the original call answered the phone and claimed that the Tech had called and reported that there was no answer. I responded that someone had been home all day and there was no such call. I then asked what number the Tech called and the number was incorrect. Even though the correct phone number had been verified when the appointment was made; even though we were an established customer with a history, somehow the Tech called the wrong number and no additional effort was made to reach us. The Receptionist offered a follow-up appointment at the end of the week which was not convenient. There was a half hearted apology but no offer of a reduced service charge or a reschedule to a more convenient time. I told the Receptionist we would call someone else and hung up. read more

I just spent over $350 a little over a week ago to get my cook top repaired. One of the burners was inoperable. The tech said it was a bad switch. When the part was order, I had to pay for a new burner as well. The switch that was installed was detective. The stem on the new switch was too short to work with the existing knob. Now I am/will be stuck with a modified knob that will more-than-likely break after the 30 day labor warranty. I thought after the repair the switch would work just as good if not better than the other switches. I am shopping for a new cook top, thanks to Allen Appliances Services. read more

Friendly same day service. BE SURE to get an estimate of cost before work is done! I called for service on 9.14.2015. They replaced a lid switch on my washer; it took about 45 minutes. The charge for the lid switch was $59.00 (found out you can buy the switch for $13.00), and paid $120.41 for labor, for a total charge of $179.41. This may be the going rate, but seems expensive to me. My advice is to shop around. read more

I called Allen's Appliance on Monday morning Oct 14,2019, guess I spoke to Owner Allen guy seemed ok on phone,but I should waited until I was fully awake,and read reviews fully,and have never payed for service charge in my life,of course figuring where we unfortunately live, should known better,felt he lied to me,cause told him how I hated area and kind people here,Well he said,,he could send out two guys the same day,that in way is bad sign,cause they can't be that busy to be able to come over same day? Well guys came they spent total of maybe 10 minutes checking and analyzing situation,which is same as I myself and husband did for past two weeks? Then said they probably could fix it for $700,when I got it when Sears was going out business in Sanford for $525,then I asked about new coil for stove and that another service call and the part they would have to order,and that more money and a installation charge,Finally I said no,and stupidly ended up paying a $129 for them to basically do nothing special and sending guys I didn't like,and finding out what one was and few other things,which yelp won't allow me to post,well We tell everyone on Facebook about this ripoff company and hubby will tell all the guys he knows at 7-11 and public's down street,don't waste your money on ripoff company,cause their ripoff and didn't fix it? I am writing this review because Allens Appliance has not given me a refund for being overcharged as well as charged for nothing. I had a leak from my washer. They came out and determined the problem to be a hose and spring this was on a Tuesday. They were supposed to come back on Thursday and repair on Thursday they called and said the part wouldn't arrive til Friday , I asked how late they work and was told 7 , I then asked if they could come at that time and the reply was "well the guys want to go home at 4 " I was confused as to why I was told Friday however, I made a appointment for Saturday . On Saturday the repairman arrived with 2 small parts a rubber hose about the size of a finger and a spring clamp . He went to the laundry room and finished in 10 minutes. I was then told it was $193.00 I was so excited to have a washer again after a week that I paid . About 30 minutes later I noticed it was still leaking I called Allens and complained and made a appt. for Tuesday again. Then after pondering a moment I called another repair company and asked for a price to do the repairs that had been done. I wa quoted $69.00. I called Allen again and asked how did we get to 193.00 I was told Im not at my desk Ill check and call you back. I was not called until Tuesday morning ( I left a voice mail on monday evening) . During our conversation I was they would fix the leak when I asked about the price I was told 89 for service call 59 for labor plus parts. I expressed my unsatisfaction as this is beyond gouging its pretty much stealing. I was told I would be refunded . Its been 1 week and no refund. I would say stay away from this company unless you want to be screwed ! read more
