They're thorough, honest and reasonable. I recently took my car in and described 2 issues I was having. Allen told me to go to the parts store, told me what to get and how to take care of it myself. Then he smiled and said, "I'll give you the easy ones...if it doesn't work bring it back." That cost me less than $20. AWESOME! Just yesterday I started hearing a noise in the front end. Kien knew exactly what it was and in a couple hours time it was taken care of and a lot less than I was anticipating. I like Allen, he's a good guy and works on a lot of cars. The reason for two stars is because he replaced a part that he had done to a truck I bought that went out, and after paying a chunk of money to get it fixed I found multiple things not put back together properly. there was a loose wire left hanging around the engine bay, an interior panel was not refitted properly, a seal between the cab and engine bay was left loose not in its place, and he cracked the front grill around the bolts (overtightened). the next day after getting my clutch master cylinder replaced it stopped working on the highway. Now I will need to pay for a second tow and an uber ride home, not sure how I can get to work for the clutch pedal I'm sure it's under warranty and he will fix it, but this should have been done right the first time. read more

Have been going to Allen's Auto for 30 years. Has always done excellent work and does not replace things or try to push you into getting something you don't need. First time there was because the car wouldn't pass smog. Expected several hundred dollars for the repair (at least). When I got there and asked how much, he said $95. I said What?? Just needed a new sensor. Someplace else might have done more than needed. For this area his prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. Only problem for this last visit is when I went to pick it up. Left work a little early to get there by 5. He's always been open til 5. And so says Yelp. But he said he started closing at 4:30 a few years ago and he didn't know how to change the Yelp info. Suggest confirming if he'll be open when you want to stop by and pickup your vehicle. read more

I am coming out of Yelp retirement to write this review. I am not a rich man. I sew the holes in my underwear so they last longer. I cut my own hair. I seek out restaurants with large portion sizes so my wife and I can split meals. That is why for the last year I have been driving my Acura integra around with warped rotors. Whenever I braked my car violently shook like it was having a seizure. I knew the problem, but also knew some places can charge $800 for 4 new rotors / resurfacing. Finally enough was enough. My left testicle fell out of my shorts as I was braking one day and that's when I knew the shaking was too much. I went to a place up the road from here first, and they quoted me at $2000 for brakes rotors and a leaky strut. Uhh.... My car is worth less than that... As I was walking down the road, I noticed Allen, incredibly busy and very nice. I asked him how much for rotors and brakes and he said $400. I had to do a double take. I asked him why the other guys are so expensive. He said that they don't resurface rotors because they are lazy they just buy new ones and call it a day. He said he's the cheapest place in town and that is why he is so busy! Well you can't beat that logic! I quickly made up some excuse to get my car out of the other place and bring it to Allens. Within 4 hours I was good to go and he even replaced a missing lug nut! Now my car brakes smooth like butter (bts) and my kids don't have to worry about falling out of my shorts! I'm very happy with this place. I've gone once before for brakes and they were very fast and efficient. Last week my car was making a weird sound- so I took it to Allen and he opened the hood and immediately saw the problem. He said I could leave it now (about 1 PM) and it would be done by tomorrow morning. Two hours later I received a call that it was ready. I picked it up and the noise was gone. Took my 2016 Honda accord there because it was having issues starting. They told me they were going to run a diagnostic on it and give me a call. They called to let me know it was the starter. I dropped it off on a Saturday and they told me it would be done before they close and they would give me a call. Unfortunately they never called and I had to wait until Monday to pick it up. A handful of times I was given quotes by other shops for repairs on my vehicle and then took it over to Allen for a second opinion. Not to my surprise, he went over everything they claimed I needed done and either confirmed the repair, or let me know how long I could go before needing to move forward with one. Super fast oil change. Just call to let them know that you're coming and if there's an available spot, and once you get there it'll take no more than 15 mins. Also I got my car checked out at another place for having air conditioning issues and was quoted $1100+ for repairs and replacement, but we went to Allen to just get it double checked and his repair was only $60 in total. No joke. I understand this is a rare case, but just in general, it'll be way cheaper to get serviced here. Support small and Asian owned business and give them a call :) read more

I just purchased my car and needed the interior lights fixed. There was a younger man that came to speak to me, we agreed that I would bring my car in on the 03/07/23. He was really rude and talked down to me like I am stupid. I left my car there overnight and came to pick it up the next day after work. They would not give me an invoice, the issue is fixed however they would not give me an invoice of what they fixed on the car stating that since the dealership paid for it I can't have an invoice. Fine, so I get back in my car, mind you I took my car in with a full tank of gas. Anyways my car only had a half a tank of gas left in it. So someone had a good old time driving my car super far without my permission. Anyways so I had to go to the dealership to get an invoice on what was fixed on the car. The invoice I finally got is very vague. I can say after this experience I will be avoiding this place at all costs! read more
