I got pulled over for my brake lights being out, I knew the lights themselves were fine and explained it to the front desk guy. I dropped off my car at 10:30ish. my precious baby (honda crv) was sick and wouldn't start. a neighbor jumped it and i drove it straight to B&D. i've been taking my cars to them for repairs and maintenance for many years and have always found them to be honest and reasonable and they never tried to upsell me. as a senior woman i really appreciate that. turned out baby needed a new starter. actually some years ago when i took in my 20 year old buick century that had a transmission problem for a diagnosis, they said it wasn't worth repairing. needless to say i was surprised but at the same time appreciative. and needless to say i will continue to bring my cars to B&D and to recommend them to others. read more

Brought in my Corolla for a scraping sound coming from the rear. Assumed it was my rear brakes. I went here because it was "AAA Approved" & was opened on Saturdays. The guy test drove it & never took off the wheels. He said he didn't hear anything. They did replace a valve cover gasket for an oil leak. 2 Months later, the sound got so bad, & I would have to down shift an automatic to slow down. Took it to another AAA mechanic, who took the wheels off and the brake parts fell out into his hands. Had to get new drums, brakes to the tune of $1300. If B & D bothered to have checked, it might have saved me the extra expense, but they were too lazy to even take off a wheel. Thanks guys. AAA will hear about this. read more

I took my work truck here to have my headlights installed and found out I ordered the wrong headlights and plus I threw away the old headlights which was a costly mistake on my part. They ordered OEM lights from Toyota and rewired my headlights, got my truck back on the road. The clips on the plastic skirt had fallen off (probably from nudging a parking berm) so they reattached it with zip ties for FREE. I was referred to this shop because they do not try to suggest extra work that is unnecessary. I brought my 2010 Corolla in and had extensive work done in November of 2024. They made sure to get it all done same day when they heard I drove to them from San Diego which was so nice of them and really appreciated. When I returned home I found that my new belt was squealing quite a bit whenever it was cold/wet out and I had some vibrations/drag when I hit 3000 rpms. I brought it back April 2025 and they fixed those issues for free. Very nice people with great communication. They touch base with you throughout your service by sharing pictures and detailed descriptions and will make sure to get your permission before working on your vehicle. The owner(?) talked to me about my battery leaking corrosives and offered to give me a deal on a new battery if Les Schwab didn't honor my warranty. Again, very friendly people here. I can't say enough good about this shop. My whole family has taken our cars there for decades and they are above and beyond the rest by a landslide when it comes to integrity. One time, they told me nothing was wrong and it cost me nothing because Jeeps on public roads act different. 10/10 would recommend this auto mechanic! I'm super savvy when it comes to fixing cars but unfortunalty my wifes car has a gas leak that I could not get to! I took my wifes 2012 Mazda 3 here to have that looked at along with some spongy brakes a squeel when the AC was on the wheels were turned. Ryan and his team were very fast to identify the craked fuel line, along with some belt wear that was causing the squeeling sound. The brakes they also identifued as pad pads and rotors on the back! That said, I had them fix gas line and belts and both problems are now fixed, i'll do the brakes myself! The Cost for everything here was very reasonable and they did a terrific job! The staff is very nice and proffesional! I also like the fact they send a text with the brake down of the inspection along with some photos! That was the icing on the cake! Ryan and his team found a new set of customers today! I will always bring my car to this shop when it's something I can't do myself! Bravo Team! You guys kicked ass! I don't recommend this business. I wish I could recommend this business. I hired them to turn my rotors, replace brake pads with OEM pads, and check the front right side for a rattle noise that can only be heard when the car is in gear. Sounds simple enough. What I received was unturned rotors, but I was charged for turned rotors. I received pads that look like they were hammered into the calipers, instead of the caliper pistons being compressed and then the new pads WITH the brake hardware put into the calipers. The brake hardware for each wheel was removed with the old brake pads and was never returned to the vehicle. That's 8 individual pieces of brake hardware that this shop stole from my vehicle. I would like to have those back! While they were in my engine compartment, they couldn't figure out how to unclip the front differential breather hose (I guess), I'm not sure why they needed to remove the hose, it's on the left side of my vehicle. I'm not a mechanic, and I can figure it out, so they cut it, and left it dangling in the engine compartment. It could have easily gotten sucked into the fan, causing serious damage to my engine. They broke the tray that holds my battery. They erroneously repaired a tensioner pulley, and on my 2nd visit to their shop, they tried to tell me that the new starter they took 2 hours installing, "needed to settle in". That's when I realized that they were a sham. I tried to get my car straightened out with them, and they kept telling me to bring it by. Each time I did, I wasted 5 or more hours of my work day. After the last time, when Ron Cross was berating me in the parking lot of their business, I just didn't know what to do. It's so unfortunate that they have chosen to do wrong by a trusting customer. I chatted with 2 other people who have taken their vehicles there, and they both we're also told that their "brakes are fine, they need to settle in". Brakes that are new should not make noise, should stop the vehicle, should have a good pedal (not one that floats to the floor, like how mine was after they worked on it). I took my car to a different shop the next morning, they noted that the rotors were not turned, the brake hardware was not installed with the new pads, that there was glazing on the rotors, (which comes from just putting new brake pads on old rotors that have not been turned) and that the brake pedal was soft. This is not quality workmanship. I filed a complaint with the BBB, in hopes of resolving this matter, and B and D has failed to respond to the complaint at the BBB. They have even been sent a reminder. This isn't ethics based service. read more

Great service from Ryan! Very informative about my vehicle. They did an oil change, 100 K check and alignment. They send you over a text that gives a link to your cars information/diagnostic. The link tells you what is good, what needs future attention and what needs immediate attention. You then call them and tell them how you would like to proceed. Fair pricing! But my Engine Provider "Jasper Engines" noted them on their list of Approved Installers. Vehicle: 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L Well, I gave them a shot at it... Outcome: They did an EXCELLENT JOB! *** In Less time than they Quoted *** And for the Cost they Quoted I had a few of my OWN add-ons and the were performed with No Issues, and a Fair Price. Upon pickup there were a few quirks that required addressing, Remember "Complete New Engine Replacement" Lots of Parts, hoses, wires, etc., but they happily completed them at No Charge. I just wanted to give a shout out to B&D. Took an older F150 in for a complete engine. I wanted a Jasper remanufactured engine and they're an authorized installer so that gets the three year 100,000 mile parts AND LABOR warranty on the replacement engine. They also got the A/C repaired and recharged while it was apart and replaced the radiator, which may be why the old engine died. I was treated to excellent service, communication, and very fair prices considering the scope of the job. They also got the truck in and out quickly. I take a lot of cars to a lot of shops, and I will definitely recommend and use B&D Auto again. Thanks guys! read more
