I had initial concerns that majority, if not all the reviews were all from Georgia - but at the end of the day that wasn't an issue for the insurance company. Before I hired him I saw a few reviews stating all he does is fill in the blanks with a generic report - while that may be the case - from a business owner aspect that seems the best method if he is doing appraisals from across the county. I honestly can't say if that is true or not, since it seems the report given is individualized to your car and issue - and not as generic as it may seem. One has to think - not only are you paying for the report - you are paying for his years of experience and these automotive certifications that insurance companies value when it comes to appraisals. Even though it took a while to get documents from the insurance company to submit to him, he periodically checked in to make sure I hadn't forgotten him, even though he didn't have to - since he was already paid. I personally knew someone who had gotten into an accident twice as bad as mine, who didn't use an appraiser and they didn't even get half of what I got. Now, to be honest, you probably won't get the all of Mr. Allen recommends - but it definitely gives you major room to negotiate. First of all, he told me that I was number nine in a first come first serve system. When I asked him for update, he told me I was number 22 Instead of number nine after I paid the $600 fee. After I told him about the mistake, he proceeded to act like a child and send me laughing emojis while telling me I have no patience. Initially talked to Chris over the telephone. Told him my situation. Seemed cordial. When he pulled up to my house to "collect " his $400 fee and take pictures of damaged car , I was talking to him at my car and then found out im not even talking to Chris, it was his son. Chris (the owner ) was just waiting in the car. Didn't even get out to acknowledge me until I walked up to the street. Didn't even pull in my driveway. I should have known that was a bad sign. So few days later I get a generically written report emailed to me about my car with pictures written in a very mean tone to my Insurance company demanding $7,000 for my DV claim. Any 3rd grader could have written this report. It had no proof or backup research on the report of where he was getting his numbers. Again, just generic info about my car. I went ahead and sent the report to my insurance agent and corporate. A few days later they responded by denying the letter and asking for additional information on how Chris came up with this amount. I emailed and called Chris and he said they say this every time. And that I will have to go to gwinett county and file paperwork to start court proceedings on my own time and my own expense. I asked Chris if he would send me more Information to send to my insurance to maybe get the claim resolved without court. He said he would. That was a lie. He never did. Then a few days later I asked him to explain to me how to file for the court paperwork because initially when I gave him the $400 he talked about going to court a lot and I assumed he helps with that process. Wrong. You have to do it yourself. So I asked Chris to send me an email explaining to me what papers and forms I need to ask for at the court clerks office. He said he would send me. That was a lie. He never sent. He was very insulting over the telephone and said " I'm not your secretary " amongst other things he said that we're not professional at all. Think about it. Chris charges $400 to give you a generically written report about your car , that you could do yourself , and he says the insurance company say every time it is not good enough and shows no justification. Hmmm. Maybe make the reports better Chris. That's your job. And then once the report is denied like Chris says it always is, then you are on your own to do law paperwork and court filings which none of us no anything about. I think Chris has a good scam business going on. I bet he has a generic template on his computer that he uses for every report.
