[[HIGHLIGHT]]Found in an alley (the name fits) in the back of a parking lot. It's a small shop, limited seating, and you can see into the grill top.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait can be a little long. It was only a single person working, so keep that in mind. They were also out of fried things since their fryer wasn't working. Normally I wouldn't mind but if the cost is $13 for a lamb gyro and fries I would expect a discount for just the gyro or at least being able to pick more than 3 veggies without an added cost. The rating doesn't reflect the price and my thoughts on if there should have been a different cost for just the gyro itself. Ended up getting a lamb gyro. For the gyros they come with 3 veggies and a sauce. Any additional veggies or sauce is an added cost. Of note, they also do offer feta and olives but those are also for an additional cost but more ($1.50 each). The workers handle the veggies so you let them know what you want. Overall, there was plenty of filling in the gyros and definitely a messy meal. It wasn't the best gyro I ever had, and didn't taste super authentic. The meat was on the saltier side, and I was expecting some more flavor. I'll probably be trying out some other places in the area before coming back. read more

We wandered in here while in Corvallis looking at OSU. First, it's tucked away in the super cute downtown shopping district. We came in fairly close to closing time, but you never would have known from the reception we received. The staff was friendly and kind. The gyros were very generously portioned and you get to add all of the toppings you could possibly want. It is a VERY good deal! We are not from the area but would be regulars here if we were! Alley Gyros, what can I say, not much good the last year. I am a local and have eaten at AG for over the last ten to eleven years. We did our best to support them during the pandemic and every since. Used to be great food and service. The service is still good but the Lamb Gyros have gone way down hill, to the point won't go back again. The guy working the grill is nice and a hard worker. I don't know what they have done with the lamb or who they purchase it from, but the last few times it has been full of fat and tough to the point I didn't eat and just threw it away. Kept thinking the next time would be better, but no luck. The seasoning is not like it used to be and just not the same. This little hidden gem is absolutely delicious and affordable! We were lucky enough to have stumbled upon it while visiting our son who is a student at OSU. There were four of us and we ordered three lamb gyros and one chicken. You get three toppings and can add more for an upcharge. We did add feta , which I recommend. I was in there at 3:30 PM today. The person working was not very helpful to me. I am disabled. I walked in with a cane. She talks so quietly I had to ask her every time what she said, and she repeated never made any attempt to take her mask off to talk. I had trouble carrying things when she made my Girod. I asked her word everything was and she pointed to the condiments, never offered to help me at all. There was no dressing with the salad. When I got home I use my own. The tomatoes were empty. I ordered a large salad, pelligrino and a lamb gyro. The salad was a full size cardboard plate and you add to it what you want from the salad bar. The salad bar contained Romain lettuce, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, pico, purple onions, jalapeños plus a variety of dressings such as tzikki and items that could be added to gyros such as chutney. Tried this place out for the first time last week. It is kind of hard to find. My GPS couldn't figure out exactly how to get me to it. It can't be seen from 3rd street, but if you go around and up another block then it can be seen. It really is in an alley, so you have to look a bit. It isn't very big inside. There is enough seating for about 10 people inside. There is some variances in meat choice (I went with the lamb) and some toppings. Since this was my first gyro ever, I wanted it fairly plain. It comes with fries on it which I don't know if that is normal or not, but they don't take away from the taste in my opinion. They have a small station where you can add additional toppings such as black olives, cabbage, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. There are a couple sauces you can add (I saw a container of habanero which is a nice touch). My date who got her with bleu cheese crumbles and some special olives said I would want some pickled dressing they had. I did put some on and it is a unique flavor and blended well with the gyro. There was just one guy working (that's all there is really room for), so if it is busy, you may be waiting a while. The lamb was cooked well and had some flavor of it's own. Outside of that I essentially made my own gyro and I thought it was pretty good. I would absolutely try this place again and be a bit more adventurous about it. I put cabbage, lettuce, and jalapenos on my gyro along with the pickled sauce and I would like to try some other toppings to find the best taste. read more

Fries in the gyro?? That was as strange to me, but in Greece it's common and I won't argue with that. I prefer them on the side since I'm not into them that much, but as far as fries go, I think they are great. It's a very small restaurant and I like that. The service has always been great. Fantastic pita sandwiches, fresh lettuce, tomato, tzatziki sauce and other fresh things included and you choose from the condiment bar what to put in your sandwich. My favorite is the lamb pita sandwich with grilled veges, and lettuce, tzatziki, cucumbers and chopped tomato. The falafel is also YUM. Get a side of olives (kalamata I think?), and pita bread to dip into the olives. Mmmmm. You won't be sorry. I think the hummus is pretty good but I'm pretty picky about hummus and I like it better with tahini rather than whole sesame seeds. I just noticed they now have rice dishes. Dayum! The store owner answered (the number listed was her personal cellphone number) and she was not only incredibly polite she even offered to call the store directly to place my order for me! The young woman who made my food was also cheerful and when I arrived she helped me find the store's actual number. The food was fantastic and presentation/maintenance of the self service topping bar was equally impressive! I ordered the Street Gyros with double the meat. I'm a big Gyro fan and usually can eat 2 of these from other establishments... these were huge and generously filled! The meat is marinated in something that makes it delicious. I usually get the chicken, my son gets the lamb. They recently added classic gyro meat to the menu too for only $5.00. They put fries in it, the RIGHT way, like in Greece, and the tzaziki that's made there is perfect. You get to "dress it yourself" at this little bar with fresh ingredients like chopped lettuce, black olives, onions, and jalapeños. My only complaint is that the pita isn't big enough because I load that sucker up and it falls apart every time, it might be because of all of that house made tzaziki I can't resist piling on. read more
