I contacted a couple of them. One plumber came out looked at it and didn't know where to shut the water off at. He then never came back. I contacted Maximo and immediately got a response as well as quick quote. Guillermo came ready with everything (even the replacement hardware), looked at it and began the work. He kept me informed every step of the way about what they were doing. They came at 2 and finished about 5ish. We had previously agreed about a price. Yet I gave him a bit more because he also changed my bathroom sink faucet which the handle was broken.. the next day when I had a small issue, he came back quickly and fixed it. This review is regarding a urgent job that Luis and team performed on the 4th of July…read more Long story short, the night of the 3rd, when replacing a lighting fixture, our main circuit breaker switch blew, and our entire house was without power (AC included). Luis picked up his phone ASAP around midnight and said he'd contact me and come by in the morning. He came in the morning once he found the new breaker he thought i needed. (Supply houses were closed given the holiday. Given the age of our panel, Luis recommended we switch out the panel so it could properly hold the new main switch and organized wires, as they no longer make the main switch that we had which broke. Luis left and came back with another member of his team about an hour later. As our electric panel is in the basement, they worked downstairs, even when we were not at the house. They worked for about 7 hours straight and restored our power. He even helped out by confirming the light fixture was installed properly. All of this was done with a really fair price, especially considering this was on July 4th. We've had no issues since the job was done, and are grateful for the job that was done.

I shared approved Dept of Buildings plans and supervisor came out for a walk-through and verbally quoted me $20,000, saying as he left he'd write the detailed proposal based on his $20,000 verbal quote. However, when he emailed his proposal the price shot up 92.3% to $38,460.00! I emailed back to get justification, but never received a response to the exorbitant markup from the verbalized quote at my house. I wanted to know why Harris would not honor the $20,00 I was quoted during the site visit? I have been a repeat client of this business paying $1000s at each of their visits to do my plumbing work, and was told that because of this fact, I'd get a slight discount on my renovation proposal for the plumbing aspect. But a 92.3% markup from original quote of $20,000 is extortion, fraud and just bad business practice to say the very least! I found out also that they don't come out and tell you that they charge a discharge/service fee to come out, but $150/per hour of travel time is quietly--not disclosed to customer--added to their bills, yet never disclosed to you upfront. They were coming from the office location in Brownsville and I'm all the way down south on Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay and they must take the side streets to get to me because commercial vehicles are not permitted on the Belt Parkway. I will stop being a repeat loyal customer to Harris Plumbing and Heating and will not refer them to anyone else ever again. I'll be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau also. There are other plumbers in the area - find one you can trust to get back to you.
