    I usually don't write reviews and I certainly don't do it to intentionally hurt a business, however, with this horrible experience I felt compelled to leave one to let people know to be careful. Looking at other reviews just now I also noticed that their sales guy Paul who we had to deal with left a 5 star rating on Google a few hours ago. Further below I'm actually addressing Paul's sales pitch and the same words can be found in his review. Back in 2020 we noticed our heat pump consumed a lot of electricity. Prestige's sales guy Paul came to take a look. He explained he only works for Prestige to help them out and that they are highly ethical. When Prestige came in to replace the condenser they realized that the air handler did not fit through the door to the attic so they had to get the same unit that comes in two modules. Turns out that unit didn't fit either and they had to order another unit to make it work. Supposedly that unit was a more expensive and fancier one. They finished installing the unit, but no heat was coming out as "something funky was going on with the power". They left but sent in an electrician they work with who had to replace a breaker they fried - $180 we had to pay. The heat still didn't work, so they installed a different thermostat as the one they had put in before was only aligned with the original unit they wanted to install first. It took them 5h to replace the thermostat. The heat finally worked, so we let it run for the night. Next morning our meter showed we used ~100 kW (our average usage is 20 kW/day). Shadi explained to me that the heat strip starts kicking in at around 45 degrees (not what we were told). I told him in that case we want our money back and have him uninstall everything because we were misled which he was not willing to do. He said all that while explaining to me that he is not a businessman, but that customers have his highest priority. I explained to him how we were completely misled and his reply after everything that had happened was: "I can't stand heat pumps and recommend against installing them". How helpful it would have been to have anyone tell us that before. The heat strip kicked in again at 48 degree weather, electricity consumption was through the roof. It took them 2 weeks to get back to us because apparently the wrong replacement part was shipped. They were supposed to come on March 30th, but on the 29th they informed us they have to push it to April 7th because Shadi was dealing with a personal situation. Now I am not sure why none of his workers could have come regardless of Shadi's availability, but oh well 'customers always come first'. Prestige came by on April 7th, but no Shadi. His guy installed the 5kW heat strip. We should test it and if it still doesn't work someone from Trane will come by. We tested the unit during 45 degree weather the next day, it still consumed a lot of energy. After a lot of back and forth one of their technicians discovered a gas line in the attic which meant we could install a gas furnace. To Shadi's credit he installed the furnace without any additional cost. Since we were already in spring the installation was pushed to Sep. Fast forward 6 months, the furnace is installed and finally everything seemed to be working fine. I thanked Shadi for his efforts towards the end. However, after a while the unit would automatically shut off after running for a few hours. We called Prestige and their technician "identified" a faulty part. He replaced it assuring us that it would work now. It didn't. They had to come in on 2 more occasions to replace what they thought were faulty parts of a brand new unit until finally my patience ran thin requesting either a new unit since this one seemed to be not working or having them refund us. They explained to me that they would need to have Trane check it out first. They did and confirmed that the unit was not the issue. It was the ductwork which was not big enough to move the heat properly causing the unit to overheat and shut off. Of course before replacing the heat pump with a furnace no one ever thought of looking at the ductwork as well. So here we were again getting the best price possible from Shadi to have them do the ductwork. At that point we decided to have a different company do the ductwork. They finished the job last week and the unit is finally properly working. Every other email we have received from Prestige begins with the words "My sincerest apologies". We have never met Shadi in person. All in all after one full year this has cost us somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000. The original quote was for half of that. That same company that replaced the ductwork also called the work that was done by Prestige a "Mickey Mouse job". I hope this will help you in your decision who not to work with.
