Be aware before you sign on the dotted line. This company has absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my lifetime. Multiple phone calls over days with not one return phone call. And the people who do answer the phone are rude , arrogant with zero empathy. After every phone call, it's always will send it to the people in charge who couldn't care less about you the customer. Heed this warning and DO NOT used Allied Experts for any work in your house. Their work is poor, and you run the risk of having a horrible eyesore in your house that will infuriate you for years to come. Roughly 2-2.5 years ago I received a call from Allied Experts explaining that they were performing home efficiency assessments in conjunction with PSE&G. I agreed to let them come evaluate my home, a decision I continue to regret years later. An evaluation was done and I was informed a new HVAC system would be part of the planned work. During the day of installation, I was told that new pipes would be run from the HVAC system in my laundry room. The pipes would travel from my laundry room, through a wall into an adjacent living space, through another wall into the garage, and then up through the roof. We were misled into thinking these pipes would be small in diameter, and that the length of pipe that would protrude from the garage roof would be minimal. The pipes that were used were not small, but were large, especially to run through an entire room that is used as a living area. At no point were we shown the pipes that were going to be used to get an idea of what were going to be dealing with, and at no point were we informed of how far the pipes would protrude from the roof. I imagined the pipes would protrude several inches, but instead are each more than a foot long. These three large pipes have created an eyesore in 4 different areas, which is almost impressive if not sad and infuriating that this is what we have to live with now in our house. While I can understand that new pipes need to be installed to allow for the HVAC system to work, I wish the time had been taken to show us what we were going to have to live with once the work was done, or for the pipes to be run a different way, even if took more time or required additional cost. In addition to the ugly pipes, the work that was done around them is equally as bad. The metal pieces used to support the pipes were poorly installed. They made several drill holes but they must not have been correct, but instead of filling them, they left them open like that and just made new holes. As you can see in the pictures I've included, they didn't even do a good job installing these. The metal pieces do not sit flush against the wall, and the screws were not screwed in entirely, with some sitting as a bad angle. In the pictures you can also see where the pipes meet a gray wall where the wall is still white. When the job was completed, that area was left completely open for several weeks. Finally I had to call and ask if anyone was ever going to come out to fix it. Someone was sent out to fix the issue. They ended up slopping a ton of joint compound in there, but it was done so quickly and haphazardly that the joint compound ended up cracking because it didn't have sufficient time to dry before additional coats were put on. Eventually it cracked entirely and fell out, allowing the hole to reopen again. Additionally, on the other side of that wall, the hole that was created to allow the pipes into the garage was never sealed. Eventually this led to mice entering our home through that hole from our garage and into that living space, which was confirmed by a pest control company who very quickly and easily sealed that hole in the garage. Why wasn't this done by Allied Experts during installation day? Once that hole was sealed I just fixed the wall myself instead of calling Allied Experts and risking someone else coming out and doing a horrible job again. Bad design and planning choices, poor work, and little to no efforts to repair unnecessary damage they created. When they told me they could do the whole job in one day, I should have paused, but I didn't know better. I cannot stress enough to not hire this company. Take some time, find a better company who will do a comprehensive job and actually care for your home and not just try to get the job done as quickly as possible. Now I'm paying the price years later, and eventually the price of rerouting these pipes myself. read more

They start out great with the sale and the initial installation - however they lack consistency in their work, as soon as the warranty started to end at year two all the problems came with multiple visit of unsolved issues. They've put a hole in the wall and hasn't repaired, took unauthorized funds and NO answers at any of their offices, EVEN CORPORATE. I regret working with this company and would urge others to look elsewhere for their needs. Allied Experts impressed me early on with their sales pitch and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that all changed immediately after I signed the contract. From that point forward, the project was plagued with poor communication, disorganized scheduling, subpar workmanship, and an overall lack of professionalism that made the entire experience frustrating and exhausting. Despite paying a premium ($12K vs. the $7K quoted by Brittin Built for the same scope), I ended up having to micromanage Allied every step of the way. Appointments were routinely missed or rescheduled last-minute. One crew showed up unannounced at 8AM after I had been explicitly told they would not be coming--just one of several instances where Allied's left hand clearly didn't know what the right was doing. The initial install team left my home in a disgraceful state. There were smudge marks on the walls, insulation tracked throughout the house, and even urine left on the side of the toilet bowl. One crew member yelled across my home in Spanish about needing to rush to the bathroom--apparently assuming I didn't understand him. The workmanship was equally careless. Rather than rigid ducting as promised, they installed flexible tubing with sagging insulation, stapled in place with cheap straps. Attic boards were cracked upon installation, spray foam insulation was applied haphazardly, and more than once I had to clean up behind them to make the space usable. Leaks developed shortly after the install, which they initially tried to blame on existing infrastructure. Fortunately, a technician acknowledged that the leaks were related to the new install, and they eventually fixed them. Still, I had to spend countless hours chasing them down for repairs, coordinating access, and documenting the failures--time I'll never get back. Even something as basic as restoring hot water after draining the system wasn't handled correctly, requiring me to troubleshoot it myself after they left. To their credit, they did come back multiple times to address the issues, and the job was ultimately completed. But the burden was entirely on me to escalate, follow up, and push for what should have been done right the first time. Allied ultimately made me feel like an unpaid project manager for a job I had already paid a premium for. If you're considering working with Allied because they come off as polished or more "professional" than cheaper alternatives, I strongly urge you to think again. I wish I had gone with the more affordable, equally qualified contractor who didn't waste my time or take my trust for granted. I will not be working with Allied Experts again. read more

Ever since I've had the home evaluation work completed with the new HVAC, I've had significantly higher electric bills and problems cooling the upstairs. I don't think anything was properly assessed aside from square footage when they put the system in. Allied experts converted my home from oil to gas 7 years ago and did an excellent job. 7 years later I have a leak in the coil of my A/C. I have been without air conditioning for the hottest 2 weeks of the year. It took them a few days to obtain the part and a week to get a crew to install it. Now that it is installed I am still not getting air because I apparently have a faulty thermal extender valve. I call, and am promised call back but that won't happen especially on the weekend. Still suffering through this with a family member with asthma. Oh, and did I mention that I have a service contract with them? Multiple leaks found within 5 months of install. First there was a pinhole leak in the condenser coil and all the refrigerant slowly leaked out until the house couldn't cool. A month later we encountered a similar problem where the house couldn't reach the set point again. We thought it was just that the AC couldn't keep up since it's been 100 º out, but then when the house couldn't cool under 78 º in the middle of the night when it's cooler outside we knew there was a problem. We called and turns out there was another pinhole leak that burst from the heat and again drained all the refrigerant. Again, our install was 5 months ago. They are responsive and have responded quickly, but obviously they did a poor job with the install. Would not do business with them again nor recommend them to friends/family. read more

Michael D., technician, was here within 15 minutes of his phone call. He listened to my concern regarding my a/c unit, diagnosed the problem (bad capacitor), answered all my questions, showed and educated me on exactly what the problem was and how it could've been avoided. He also went over what I did correctly (close all windows and curtains) and what I should've done (turn the a/c completely off) when I noticed my a/c wasn't working. He also showed me all the pricing on his iPad prior to doing all the work, enabling me to make an informed decision. He promptly fixed the issue once diagnosed. Ashley at the weekend call center and Michael, the technician, are great representatives for Allied Experts! They were very patient, professional, knowledgeable and understanding. They installed my system 10 years ago and have been out here every single year because my AC does not work properly. It goes in and out in and out. Each year there were multiple visits to my home and then they tell me they found the issue and then they try to fix it and then it remains broke or another issue occurs. Today as I sit in almost 100° weather I continue to have an issue after four, four different visits. And they have not even called me back? I have tried to contact them multiple times the last two days. Maybe they're sick of me, but I'm sick of them too. The folks that answer the phone and the ones that come to the house are extremely nice. But when it comes to troubleshooting something that's not easy they just don't have the experience to do so. I regret buying from them. When I bought it, my prior system would not make the upstairs cold and I asked whether I needed two systems and they told me no that the new system would cool off upstairs as well, but it never does. And then, the system not working at all, until multiple visits..every year... is most frustrating. They cannot find the issue. I believe my system should have been replaced the year that they put it in after there were multiple issues. It's a shame that we have been going through this for so long. And shame on them for not calling me back in the last 48 hours. I selected AlliedExperts based on the high number of their installation in my area of the Central NJ. I did read quite high number of negative reviews on them, their sales rep Nick G. did tell me bunch of lies I was highly suspicious of, but I sill clenched my teeth and hoped for the best. How WRONG was!!?? Their workers on the day of the install arrived almost 2 hrs late, stating they had to pick up some supplies somewhere. It made me feel: hmm, this is $15k project, the materials used here are about $2500 and they do not need even the full day to install everything, how wisely I am spending my money? We should start pounding on NJ Clean Energy Program board and demand to weed our scammers like AlliedExperts. Their Home Performance With ENERGY STAR program it's nothing but huge waste of resources. NJCEP doesn't even follow up and gathers data how effective their program might be! For sure it's a great idea, but any brilliant idea poorly executed remains a FAIL. My house energy data supports this. I have not noticed much of a difference after their install. The only difference noteworthy is, I am stuck with the $10k loan for the next 10 years. AlliedEx used my current Nest thermostat and didn't bother to leave the intended one with me, can you on the next project, right? They also took my well-functioning two year old water heater and trashed it without any warning. I had to spend over $600 to purchase a new one for my other location. Our contract nowhere included such a clause. I am feeling scammed and taken advantage off. I am concerned for others who may be future customers of Allied and will be similarly disappointed. read more

We have used ALLIED since we purchase our home over 3 years ago because their information was on our HVAC system. On our first call we wanted them to take a look at the system and make sure everything was up to par and to let us know if anything needed attention. Allied sent us John Martin and he took the time not only to give us a detailed explanation about what kind of HVAC system we have but also to show me how it all worked. From the thermostat settings to the blower speed, to the heat_pump triggers, everything!. He checked all the connections and settings, told us what they were and asked if we wanted to change anything. John was very patient listening and answering all my new-homeowner questions. We have been using them since, and always try to request John Martin to service our HVAC. He is knowledgeable and doesn't mind been asked a ton of questions. read more

Their electrician they use had an expired license which "they were unaware of" until we notified them upon talking to township. Sales did their job to sell their service. Unfortunately, when it came time to the execution, they failed. From their lack of communication and the mess Allied Experts left for the homeowner to clean up (as shown in the pictures attached), including leaving a dirty face mask on my floor so the homeowner had to dispose of it. I spent hours disposing of insulation, shaking out drop cloths, vacuuming, and cleaning my entire house (and I have asthma). Not very professional and with a low standard work ethic. In addition they were to provide new thermostats yet the ones that they gave me he handed them to me. They were all greasy and dirty. Unfortunately I should've taken a picture so you could've seen it you would not have believed it and then when I looked on the back of them, I saw that they were two years old so I don't need old greasy dirty temperatures dated, since existing ones in my home for much better and clean. The funny thing about the Allied Technician was that he was telling me that the thermostats that he gave me were new. Really? I'm not that stupid! I told him to keep them (so perhaps Allied will pass off these filthy and outdated thermostats on to the next customer). They did return later with the manager dropping off two new thermostats (which is what I was suppose to receive in the first place before I complained). I contracted with Allied to air seal and install insulation in my attic. The sales rep who quoted the project was very helpful and worked through many questions for a complex project. However, after scheduling the install day, I was informed by the sales rep that they would no longer be completing the project due to it costing more money than they originally anticipated during an internal review. This seemed very odd as we had a signed agreement and been planning this work for many months. They were scheduled to install in 3 days and I had already removed most of the existing insulation to remediate some issues that they identified. I requested that ownership reach out to better explain what was going on and confirm that they would not be doing the install. I asked to advise if there were any other options. I have been having heating issues with my brand new system since the middle of December. I made my first call January 1st and since then I have gone through multiple visits, emails, phone calls. It is now February 3rd and I still do not have working heat throughout my home. Each time I call back, they act like it is my first calling and they look into scheduling me for a tech to take a look. This week they had a visit scheduled and never showed or called. Stay away from this company, they are only interested in selling the install, but never following up on the warranty. Allied installed the heating unit in my house in 2015 and the blower motor failed about a month ago. Luckily it had a 10 year warranty and the part was covered, but not labor. Allied sent out a technician to fix it, but he could only install a temporary motor since they didn't have a OEM part in stock. That was $129 for that service, not bad so far. They called me back when the OEM part was in stock and ready for install and told me it would be an additional $179 for installation of the new part. I refused to pay the additional cost, since I already paid them for the service the first time. After doing a whole bunch of research about companies that provide help to reduce costs on energy bills - we gave Allied a call. They were also recommended (HIGHLY) to us by a friend of the family that used them in his home. Upon the initial consultation, the representative Brad seemed to be very knowledgeable and gave us our breakdown cost options based on what the state would determine we were eligible for, seemed *reasonable* for the services they would provide. Once our state report came back, another representative Nick came by to go over our results. Nick informed us that Brad had provided us with the WRONG information and that we would not be eligible for one of the tiers of service even if the state did qualify us for it since we are an all electric property. Frustrating point #1. We looked past the incorrect information since the state didn't qualify us for it anyway, it was a moot point. My husband and I agreed on getting the attic taken care of with blown insulation, costly, but again seemed *reasonable* for the service. We chose the cash option over financing, so they were able to get us on the books relatively quickly. February 18th was the install - 3 guys showed up as scheduled and completed the job in about 5 hours. Frustrating point #2 - they "stepped on something" in the attic and pretty much wrecked our ceiling in the second floor hallway. The one worker was very apologetic and attempted to patch it, but to be honest, it looked like hell. They also managed to scuff up our freshly painted walls with their equipment and even got spackle on a part of the wall. I immediately called my husband to tell him what was going on and he reached out to the sales representative, Nick who had previously visited our house. Nick apologized and said he would see what he could do for us for repairs. Both being working parents of a toddler we insisted they come out on a Saturday to fix what they broke basically. They were able to accommodate us by coming out that Saturday February 23. A two man crew showed up at 7:45 am; they were scheduled to come between 10-12 - I had to wake up my daughter in order for them to even come in. Frustrating point #3. Keenan was one of the reps that came out this time, he was very polite and seemed to be just as frustrated with the situation as we were. He said the guys have been doing this work for years and these kinds of things should not be happening anymore. He ended up cutting a LARGE section of our ceiling out and completely replacing the sheetrock with new. Needless to say it still looked like hell and was hard to see much of any improvement since the spackle was wet. Frustration point #4 - they had to come back two more times, March 2 and March 16, luckily we were able to request Keenan again which we were ultimately happy with his work, but what a complete pain in the you know what for them to come out 3 times on a Saturday to fix something that should have never happened in the first place! Not to mention we now have to sand and repaint the areas that they came to fix and where they scrubbed the spackle off the walls. Upon paying for all of this, the crew told me that Allied would be contacting me with a permit number and that I would have to call the township for an inspection in order to close the permit. I have yet to hear from Allied with any permit number.. Frustration #800 -- Today, I called our municipality to check on the permit so that I could schedule the township to come inspect the work to be able to close the permit. The township tells me they have no permit on file for insulation work. I called Allied immediately after speaking with the township, spoke with Erin - she told me that Tiffany, who deals with the permits, is out today but that she would be calling me tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I get an explanation call from Tiffany tomorrow - should be interesting. I cannot even imagine if we had more work done by Allied what more troubles and frustration we would have come across.. If there is one thing I cannot stand it's incompetency with so called professional companies. So much follow up work needing to be done by the PAYING homeowner - if the company just did what they HECK they were supposed to do in the first place this would be a very different review. Longest story short - I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for this scope of work. It's a real shame that good companies do not exist anymore. read more

Allied is very "efficient" at selling and installing complete household systems (heating/AC, Water heater) The cost was excellent due to state-backed incentives and 0% 10 year loan as of 9/2017 HOWEVER: We have had 2 occasions to need service. No heat this winter, no AC during May 2018 heat wave. and e have never received a call back! The answering service is polite and professional, and is able to confirm techs are receiving our messages. Avoid using allied at all costs. The install at the beginning could be good but the system doesnt last at all. Within 8 years, the evaporator coil had to be replaced two times already. The evpaporator coil was replaced in may 2021 and it cost 1900 to repair (labor only). Not only was it expensive for the repair, i waited over 4 weeks to get it repaired and they never return my calls to let me know status. The same repair 5 years ago was only 500 dollars. I tried to get an itemized breakdown of 1900 but they dont return calls once they got my money. The next time my unit breaks, i plan to replace the whole thing with someone else so i dont ever have to use them again. I would give zero stars if i could. read more

They were professional and efficient, meeting every claim of their marketing claims. Clean, courteous and efficient...the entire job was completed in a single day! The Navien water heater is top of the line and works as expected and is a beautiful technology heater built to last ! The insulation is now R-50 in the attic ! Along with all the technical excellence, the staff behind the technicians were great in facilitating quick responses for inspections and approval, also illustrated great care and concern that we were satisfied with every aspect of the project. He did come on time, however, after looking at my home and taking several pictures inside & out he left me very puzzled. I own a mobile home and much to my surprise Mark informed me I have an attic!!! (Mobile homes DO NOT HAVE ATTICS)!!! He told me my air vents should be on the floor and not the ceiling as the manufacturer designed it!! He called me today with an estimate that was out of this world!! We used Allied for a complete furnace/air/water heater energy savings offer. It went great. We did actually see a significant reduction in monthly's energy cost. That was two years ago. Please don't use this company. We bought our unit 6 years ago and it broke and they won't honor our 10 year warranty because we didn't buy a service contract so they voided the manufacturers warranty. Never heard of anything like this in my life. We have no heat going into the coldest part of winter. read more
