First off I want to say that there aren't enough stars for me to give Luke DeFabiis the rate he deserves. During the course of what should have been A run of the mill REFI, turned into anything but. My previous mortgage company ( MR. COOPER), neglected to pay my county tax, Luke stepped in and literally helped me save my home from being sold at a tax sale. for several weeks he set up three way phone calls with myself and the count tax department to apprise them of the situation, along with doing the same with Mr. Cooper who did not want to cooperate with me what so ever. He still accomplished working with me on his (real job, smile) and completed the REFI process. there was a couple of time when I had calls with my bank at nine o'clock in the morning and Luke wanted to still help, I'm eastern standard time!!!. I received a direct mailing about refinancing my existing VA loan with a VA IRRRL loan. I was unfamiliar with what this loan product was so I did some google searches about it as well as Allied First Bank since I didn't know much about them either. Everything seemed legit and checked out so I decided to call the number listed on the mailer to ask additional questions. I was connected with Mathew Smith and found him to be very knowledgeable about the products, processes, and timelines associated with them. He answered all questions I had professionally without all of the confusing finance lingo. Fraudulent and incorrect mail solicitations targeted at Veterans. Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as the letter I received is quoting (incorrect) VA laws in an attempt to get a call from you where they then connect the "notice number" to your phone number and publicly available property tax information. The phone calls you get from their "salesman and robo calls" after that are out of control and worse, since you contacted them first, bypasses the legalities of the Federal Telecommunications act regarding the "Do Not Call" registry. At this point for 90 days they can call you as often and early or late (which they are currently doing) as they like with no legal recourse you can take. Considering filing a class action lawsuit. This bank is struggling and in an attempt to create new revenue, are targeting the very people that put their lives on the line to defend them. read more

Received streamline refinance letter in the mail from Allied-first. Was not familiar with the streamline refinance, had just purchased my home before all of the interest rates plummeted so was at a much higher rate. Called and worked with Austin Malinowski, would give Mr. Malinowski his own 5 star review. Austin explained the streamline refinance to me and my wife, gave us his office number, as well as his personal number for contact/ questions. Austin called to check in with us frequently, we always knew where we were at in the process, and what we needed to do expect as we moved on. Allied first and Mr. Malinowski were several time zones away from us but he was always available which made the time differences unnoticeable. This is my first experience with a closing conducted at home. I thought it was great as I never did enjoy going to the title company for closing. Baird was professional, yet personal and he gave me a feeling of trust as I was really apprehensive of the process. The documentation was excessive as always in any closing but Baird had everything pretty much under control. Not paying the mortgage on the fist is making me nervous but we'll see how fast this gets processed.
