Came to Allied Surplus because one of my children needed patches sewn on to something, and the patches were too thick to hand sew. Allied Surplus to the rescue. Items were dropped off. Everything was ready the next evening. We ended up picking up a few useful items when picking up the sewing order. Customer service was mostly positive. Three of the four people who have helped me here have been really kind and helpful. One even calling me to confirm placement of a patch. The fourth was fine. He got the job done. Store is a mix of new and used items. More than uniforms/clothing and shoes. Stock includes pins, MREs, backpacks, holsters, flags, children's items, etc... There are even some items from international militaries. Those were particularly interesting to see. One of my kids got a kick out of seeing two vintage military jeeps parked inside the store. read more

I called this store in the morning and asked if they would be interested in the resale of a brand new rifle bag and a good condition plate carrier. I stated in the conversation that if they were not interested I would gladly take it elsewhere. The employee reassured me that the owner would be interested in taking them off my hands, advised me not to take them elsewhere, and would offer a fair and competitive price. With this in mind I set myself out to travel in the 100 degree plus weather only to arrive with said items and have the employee I just spoke to an hour earlier, look me in the eyes and say "we aren't interested in either of those items". We'll thanks for lying to me over the phone. Wasting my time, and costing me the expense to travel. I have been a lifetime customer of Allied Surplus but after receiving what I can only call "a kick in the balls" from your business, I will never go to allied surlpus for any surplus or military gear needs ever. Due to this shady and dare I say malicious business dealing I can NO longer say to anyone that Allied seems like a reputable and honest business for anyone to pay custom to. If they lied to me about a resale it only begs the question "what else do they lie about?". It seems I cannot overemphasize enough how much of a dishonest and unfruitful transaction it is to first openly declare and state your interest in a resale as such items that your store is stocked and known for, and to be offered and encouraged to come to by and have the transaction of sale, only to be turned away inexplicably after travel and arrangement without so much as an explanation or second look at the Items. Such a qualitiy of customer service is disgusting and belongs kept to the back alleys of developing nations. read more

I was in town for work and have a soft spot for military surplus/outdoorsman shops. Allied has really friendly and helpful staff, loads of new items they stock and a variety of surplus. Prices were all very fair and reflective of value of various items. I didn't try their services they provide for uniforms and it dog tags but I'd imagine they wouldn't let you down! read more

40% surplus, 30% cheap knock off Asian made, 30% American made cheapie. With that said, I'm sure this store must serve certain customer base. The guys working behind the counter seems knowledgeable. Also this place sells some multicm and a-tacs camo for airsoft kids. My cusotmer wanted American military surplus jacket to bring home, and I managed to find one that he wanted. Pricing is okay, compare to on-line shops this is about average. For surplus some items were cheap, some items were over priced. read more

Terrible customer service directly from the manager. I had purchased a pair of boots approximately a week prior for my daughter, we were not sure that we were going to keep the item as they only had men's sizes but we thought we would give them a try. The boots and it up being unworn and we decided to return them as we found a women's size that fit. Since we knew that we were going to possibly be returning the items I specifically asked the cashier about the return policy. He stated that as long as the boots were in perfect condition and were returned within 90 days that we could get a full refund. Today when I return to the store I was told that they have a zero refund policy??? The associate then pointed to the receipt that said so, unfortunately you don't get a receipt for a purchase until you actually completed the purchase, that's why I asked about the return policy prior to making the purchase. The manager came up and kept offering me a gift card or a store credit over and over and over again. I told him that there was nothing else in the store that I needed or wanted and wanted a refund. He emphatically told me no and only allowed a return with a 20% restocking fee! My suggestion would be to shop a local store elsewhere or purchase products that they have from an online vendor, they have lost me as a customer! read more

I have always had a great experience whenever i come here, same goes for the other location in Mesa! They are always stocked with the best products and have great customer service. I would say approximately 50% of my camping supplies were purchased from Allied Surplus at a fraction of the price I would have paid at a larger outdoor store. Not to mention, i believe the quality is far more superior than from a regular camping store. So if you ever need any basic camping/ outdoor equipment, you should definitely stop by and have a look. I am a long time customer through 3 locations and 20 years of Allied Surplus and if not for today my review would be five stars like most everyone else. I attempted to return some Propper BDU shorts that I purchased s couple weeks back. The entire waist was separated by six inches which you could see was a manufacturing issue where the stitch failed. When I attempted to return them I was told that my receipt showing my credit card charge would not suffice. I stated this was all I was given at the time of sale. I was told that I needed a sales receipt for inventory purposes and could not be helped. I told the representative to just throw away the shorts and made it clear that a long time loyal customer was lost today. read more

Take my advice, I don't use it anyways. This place has some cool stuff. Even if you have no military background it's worth taking a look at some of the cool gear they have in here. I play airsoft, so I get some of my chest rigs and holsters here. They are moderately priced and have helpful people running it. I am a retired ex paratrooper and wanted to create a whole new maroon beret as i had back in the day. I purchased a beret and had to order a unit crest. 3 weeks went by and they called me to say it was in. I went to get it but found it to be too big.(you would think they would know that) i reordered the correct one this time. A whole month went by and still nothing. I finallly went back and found it still not here. All he could sheepishly say...."we got no control of our supplier"....really.? Who works for who?. I been to this place before in the past. This time I went in to buy some boots with a composite toe. After the staff there recommended a few pairs, I ignored their recommendations and went for another pair of boots that were suppose to be composite toe but the box was mislabeled. Well I was depending on these boots to be composite toe because my job requires them and It can be a safety issue and i can be fired. The expected happened and something heavy fell on my boots and turns out that they were not composite toe, I was furious and called these guys to let them know that I was gonna return these things. Ok what fell on me wasn't heavy and I didn't even feel it. Well after work i decided to drive over to this place. I was greeted with a few nice words and a smile like everyone else. I lay the box of boots on the table, the employee opens them notices that they are after two days extremely rough and says, " go get you another pair". I wasn't surprised. This place has always treated me with respect and always has everything I need. They hooked me up with some beast ass boots and I even spent an extra $40 cause places like this with people like these need to be kept alive.
