I cannot rave enough about Allie's Cafe and Catering. They just catered my parents 60th wedding anniversary party and did an amazing job. My parents and the guests loved the food and I could not be more pleased with their service. They set up, served, cleaned up and even cut and served the cake so I didn't have to. Betty Sulok is excellent at her job answering my countless questions in a timely manner. Thanks Allie's! You went above and beyond my expectations!

Allie's catered a "Happily Ever After" party that my in-laws threw. This was my first experience with a full Polish meal, and man-oh-man did they deliver! We were treated to their fried chicken, sausage, mashed potatoes, noodles, cabbage, rolls, and green beans. In addition to the delicious food, the service was wonderful, and the staff was all so sweet!

They made me the best veggie breakfast I ever eat, and I live in east lakeview where we have the best restaurants in the nation . I'm coming back here every morning.

The low carb breakfast and pancakes!

I travel extensively, and often rely on reviews of an establishment to make my final decision of what/where to eat. Yelp really needs to work on sorting out all these sour pusses that have these overboard needs and expectations, then leave bad reviews because they were unrealistic to begin with. It makes it difficult to get and accurate bead on what is real. I won't mention and names, but when you have personal issues, and leave a bad review... that's very sad. I almost missed this little gem Of a place, due to some fake reviews. Yes, I said it....FAKE!! I stopped here in Fathers Day, the cafe was pretty busy and was sat quickly!! Had coffee on the table in less than 2 minutes of being seated. The breakfast was hot and fresh, the pancakes were fluffy and plenty of syrup. I couldn't even eat everything!!! The service was fast, the waitress was on the move. To the people that left these poor reviews, stay home!! You leave reviews that are unsubstantiated and make it difficult for travelers like myself to make an accurate choice. If the reviewers of Yelp read this, please feel free to contact me and get the real info on this place. It's a gem of a place that had an awesome breakfast, and the portions were way above what I expected.

    The Karen cup.

Our waitress was Kayla. Very rude. Gave my girlfriend a coffee cup labeled Karen. All because my gg wanted breakfast, and the waitress Kayla kept naming off things you'd eat for dinner. The speacials were spaghetti and beef stroganoff and polish sausage with a side. Then denied knowing the sneak diss behind the meaning of calling a women Karen. Then admitted it to me, saying she gave an older gentleman the same cup because of some comments he made. Waste of $26. Food wasn't that good, but the biscuits and gravy was okay. Burger and fries were cold. Egg and bacon were average. Also, many empty tables, and they sat a party of three right next to our table. Gotta wear a mask; but not social distance? Funny. So we moved tables on our own!

    "Allie's Own" German Special (Gröstl)
    Marc R.

I am a fan of breakfast and wish every place fast, medium, and slow food joints would make it 24 hours. I grew up in a 24 hour diner city so I love the eggs. Now, this place is not open 24 hours, but rather is one of these odd early AM to afternoon places that seem to be all over Indiana. I went and had the Allie's Own German Special (breakfast) which is an American variation on the Gröstl I had in Austria. Everything looked great. The ladies who run this place are super nice and keep the coffee coming.

We went with a party of 5 and there is only one table that fit us but luckily it was open. I would suggest going early because they sell out fast. It was very busy when we went but it was worth it. I really liked the Ube cookie and the sandwich I got. They warmed the sandwich but not the cookie (I also didn't ask them to). The Ube cookie had coconut in it and I'm not a coconut lover but it was subtle enough that I like it!! Coffee was great too!

Located next to Brasserie 23 and some nice apartments, the exterior of this café immediately gave off European café vibes. Inside, we were greeted by the staff and looked at the menu for a bit before ordering. About 5 minutes after ordering, we received our drinks and food from a few kind, fast, and professional baristas. There is free wifi and the two unisex bathrooms are clean. There is also a lot of places to sit and we saw a few students working on homework while sipping on their matcha lattes. The prices for everything is overall decent but still a little high. Bakery goods are priced well while the drinks are maybe a dollar too expensive. They only use locally sourced whole milk in their drinks as well, just an FYI. All around the cafe are various things for sale, like local coffee beans, glass jars of that whole milk, and yummy loaves of sourdough and foccacia bread. I am from out of town so I didn't buy any bread or milk but I wish I could have! As for the food, everything was indulgent and delicious! We ordered a lot. I got a cinnamon churro latte with GORGEOUS sky design art. The taste was pretty basic - Like a cinnamon hot chocolate. Very milk forward. My bf got a chai latte. This had strong flavor. I should get a different drink next time as I only like to pay $7 for drinks that are unique! My bad! So after we each had an indulgent caffeine drink, we then had a breakfast sandwich. I got the turkey/bacon and my bf got the sausage one. Bacon was good and slightly fatty and the bun/brioche bread was really poofy! After an hour or so of conversation with my bf's family and friends, we then shared an almond fragipange cookie (thiccc and moist) and a blueberry coffee cake slice. Both were great! We had the coffee cake at his home and enjoyed the cookie at the cafe. The cookie was just like the cookies from the famous Levain cookie chain. These are the kind of cookies you can only have infrequently because they are so high calories, but boy, they are delish! I already followed Caffe Capriccio on Instagram so I can keep track of limited time drinks and desserts! I'll be moving to this area next year to be with my boyfriend and am happy to say that we will definitely be back!

The smoothies are pretty good. I think I've had the Orange Sunrise and the Bangin' Berry. I'll probably try more, but of those two, the Orange Sunrise is better, hands down. I've never had breakfast here, but they do offer Quorn substitutes for anything that comes with chicken, so there are plenty of vegetarian options for a place with such a limited menu to start with. It's located in the Duncan Student Center, which is the building they attached to the west side of the football stadium. The cafe is near the north entrance. There's lots of seating, but some of the stools are annoying tall ones, which seem to be all the rage these days, even though they're uncomfortable. The good thing about the tall stools is that they have these special metal baskets at the bottom so that you have somewhere to put all your junk while you're eating. I can see this coming in handy when the weather's bad, which it often is in South Bend; you don't have to sit against your wet and/or cold coat.

I don't view this as an actual coffee shop but more of a quick service establishment. The pastry proportions sometimes disappoint me because they are more expensive than they should. I got their unsweetened matcha once and was terribly disappointed. I honestly couldn't taste the matcha. I think that ABP in Hesburgh library serves better coffee, and it's worth the short walk over there.
