I arrived here around 11 am and found the set up super weird. The front desk is located on the first floor along with a few offices and sign-up tables, a Pilates room and I don't remember much else but everything else is upstairs. So to me, the whole gym feel is off. I found lockers that were easy to operate. Put my stuff in there and found a bike to ride and everything worked properly. Walking around trying to find a circuit of machines or something similar to where I can do arm work one day and legs the next day and all the machines that I'm familiar with are in one location, which is nice but super crowded and several of the machines I wanted to use were broken. I did my workout and left and I'll be back to try a class or two, check out the pool and the sauna and see what that's all about but my first impression was a three out of five.

I thought I was lucky to find a Power House Gym. I wanted to train everyday while on vacation and show my son what a real gym looks like. On top of paying guest fees for two people for 4 days, I had intentions of buying him at least $300 of merchandise as well. It literally took me 30 minutes to drive from my Air BnB to that gym. The moron at the front desk took his sweet time having a personal conversation with someone and when he finally decided to pay me and my son any attention, he simply told me to scan the QR code and then kept on with his conversation. I don't know if he was one of the owners or not, but this type of customer service is just poor. I came with the intention of spending a lot of money in that business but after dealing with that I just refuse.

The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, but I specifically wanted to recognize Matt (Matthew), who really stands out. Matt is incredibly personable and always welcomes my wife and me by name, usually before we even have a chance to scan in. He does not just sit behind the front desk. He is constantly walking the floor and paying attention to the details. He makes sure the paper towel stations are stocked, equipment is where it belongs, re racks weights when needed, and regularly cleans machines. You can tell he genuinely takes pride in keeping the gym looking its best. Matt also works out at this same location on his own time. What I particularly appreciate is that even when he is off the clock and there just to get his own workout in, he still takes the time to say hello when he sees us. It is a small thing, but it speaks to how genuinely personable he is. It is also nice to see a fit, engaged employee who clearly enjoys fitness himself and represents the spirit of Planet Fitness. I'm writing for few reasons: 1. Disgusted that this type of aggression and temperament from any person would be allowed to make a woman feel unsafe at any time inside of this business. 2. The male member yelled and called the other female member the B word and a Democrat over and over embarrassing her throughout this exchange. No one stopped him from yelling in her face. 3. The owners response was that she understood where he was coming from after speaking to him, however the female did nothing wrong to the male member for him to degrade her in such a fashion. For an owner of any business to agree with this type of behavior makes it unsafe for any woman or member of this establishment. The owner gave this member a warning only, which means all members, especially women can be subjected to this type of behavior at any given time. It is an open facility 24 hours a day that should feel like a safe place to attend. In one review you stated that you encourage your staff to reach out to security if anything looks remotely odd, yet where was security this time? My question is are you really going to allow a verbally abusive member to stay a member at this facility KNOWING he harassed one of your members. A side recommendation would be to install more panic buttons at your facility because obviously they are needed throughout the gym while dealing with members that you allow to abuse your other members.

I came here last week for a trial class, and unfortunately, this was not the type of class I was…read morehoping for. I left after just two stations/15 minutes. I was a bit grossed out by the "cleanliness" and the idea of lying down on the floor to stretch where people walk around in their shoes (there's so much nasty stuff from walking around outside!!). I was also under the impression/told this class was for all levels of fitness, but it seemed like it really didn't matter if we (the entire group) were literally of all different ages and levels of fitness or physique. I thought there would be more individual guidance for the movements we needed to do, but we were pretty much told (after the coach quickly explained each station), to go pick a station and get started. I wasn't sure if the positions I was standing in and sitting/squatting down in were correct or not. There's no way to see my reflection or have anyone who had experience tell me. One of the movements was to squat down while having one leg forward and across diagonally, so the knee is bent and at an angle, sort of like a curtsy position. I feel that because of that movement and not being told if I'm doing it correctly or not, I messed up my knee where I felt some sudden pain behind and around my knee area a couple days later. My vein specialist/doctor did an ultrasound on it today and saw that there's fluid in my knee that wasn't ever there before, and because of that it put pressure on another vein and caused it to "pop". He said it was probably due to straining and if the knee was twisted or at an angle. He mentioned that specifically before I ever said anything about trying out new exercises! Even despite my injury, my rating would probably be the same...the music was SO loud it was hurting my ears a bit, and I really did not want to be listening to club music. There's other music to work out to besides EDM. This just unfortunately and definitely was not what I was expecting based off of the business info and reviews I read up on.
