CONSUMER BEWARE Had Carl come to the house to look at our Lennox Gas Fire insert. The Gas Fire would come on for a half hour 45 minutes and then turn off. After collecting $250 for the service call, we were told he had other calls to go on and could not stay for a half hour 45 minutes to see if the fire place would stay lit after he secured the glass to some latches, saying maybe it was because of a air leak. When we called to let him know the fireplace still was not staying lit. He said it was probably the valve. Never bothered coming back to investigate further. Just said they no longer make Lenox Valves. The problem was the fireplace sensors connections just needed a good cleaning. Definitely a money grab business looking to sell a new fireplace for the tune of $6,000. read more

We bought a new wood insert from them in 2019. The people and product were very nice but we were disappointed we had to clean the glass every few days to be able to see the fire. A year or so ago we learned it was because the unit they sold us was WAY too large for the space, so the fires we were burning were not hot enough to keep the glass relatively free of soot. We called and told them, suggesting they might swap ours out for a similarly valued used one the correct size, but they didn't respond. A few months later our follow up email received the same silence. We ended up buying fire bricks to fill enough space in it to allow us to burn smaller, hotter fires without overheating the room. It helped, but we still have to do more glass cleaning than we should and ended up spending more money on the larger unit than we needed to. My wife and I were in the market for a new wood stove after we bought a new house in Mass. We happened to be in Albany at the time for dinner and only had a few min to look around before our reservation. We went to Allphase Masonry and Chimney. We were very impressed with their showroom. After looking around, we decided to have an in-home consultation. We met with Jake at our house about a month later, and we were very impressed. We bought a stove, liner, and installation from them. As it turned out, Jake was the owner. I spoke with him in private about how impressed I was with his company thus far, as I own a small construction company in the Berkshires. He was up front with us about the installation being sometime in January. 2026. The installers came on time, and everyone was kind and courteous. There was a part for the surround on backorder, so we had to wait a few more weeks for them to finish the installation. When they came a few weeks later, the installer was Carl Celella. This guy was fantastic. He knew his stuff. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and his cleanliness. He showed me how to use the stove correctly and clean the glass properly. I want to thank you for being a company that we can count on. If you are in the market for a stove or anything masonry, I highly recommend this company. Customer service was horrible, the original technician was horrible and it took 4 months to finally get the necessary repair done.

Our 50+ year old home's chimney was pulling away from the house. We selected Allphase Masonry and Chimney to repair it and were delighted. Not happy that they apparently damaged my relatively new roof and made repairs by using a gob of silicone. I also lost a good piece of plywood that I lent them to protect a section of the roof while they demo'd the old chimney. Otherwise the guy that installed the new cultured stone did a nice job and was extremely diligent. Sometimes starting in the morning, in the dark, and not finishing until dark at night. read more

NEVER EVER use them their lift broke my side walk and I have been chasing them for 2 years to fix it , they sent someone out and never heard from them again, it has been me calling them and getting the run around of the century. I've had it, also they are so over priced for 2 chimneys repaired, unless they have a price for each ethnicity, trash work and trash customer service so disappointed only good thing is they work in the snow. I will be taking legal action when I went to file my paper work I was told I was not the only one with a complaint. read more

Work done well, and has held up well so far [new furnace chimney flue liner]. Only issues: 1. Crew 'forgot' to waterproof [previously damaged] exterior chimney bricks, which was agreed in writing and paid extra for - this was done once we reminded crew, who were on their way out. 2. Crew turned off [central heat and A/C] furnace while working, and turned it back on when done -- basement floor near furnace was flooded [either from furnace or from mixing cement], but crew said they hadn't seen this. 3. Crew left behind their bucket, cement and trowel. read more

Guy came right over to give me an estimate which was very reasonable, straight forward and he set it up to be fixed in less than a week. Nelson and Logan were the 2 best workers I ever had work on my house. If I could I would give them a 10 star rating in every area of the job. I give this company a thumbs up. I have no affiliation with anyone related to them. I used them to inspect and repair my chimney after a creosote related chimney fire. They showed up as per their appointment put a camera in my chimney and described to me the damage I observed in my flue. They prepared a quote for my insurance company. I hired them to come back to replace the flue with a stainless steel insert with chimney insulation. I did a lot of research in chimney liners and the one they provided was a quality product. They do very specialized work which is dirty and dangerous. They installed the liner and cleaned up after themselves without incident all within their quote. read more

Avoid these guys. I hired them to inspect and repair a fireplace insert. They came, charged me $165, gave me a brief oral report, said they would order parts and make the repairs (for an additional charge, which I did not dispute). I made eight calls to their number. They never returned a call, nor I have heard from them through email or otherwise. Shabby business practice to collect a fee for essentially nothing. read more

Hired them as we were buying our house and they rebuilt our fireplace. After we used the fireplace, there was still smoke coming in to our living room. Called Jake for weeks until he called back and then didn't show up. Afterwards he called and said he can come the following week, in which case on the drive over he called me and said he needed some equipment so he'll come next week. This has been going on for 2 months now without him actually showing up. So much for the work and warranty if we can't get him to come out. read more

Jake (I believe the owner), is very knowledgeable. His crew showed up and rebuilt my chimney over a day and a half. Would have been a day, but weather sometimes slows you down.
