Our experience with All Star Coaches was nothing short of terrible, and I strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to look elsewhere. The RV we received was outdated, poorly maintained, and far from the modern vehicle we had specifically requested when booking.
Major Issues:
Severe Safety Hazard:
The seatbelt at the dinette was almost completely severed. This was a serious safety issue, especially since my young daughter was sitting there. Had we not noticed it ourselves, she would have continued traveling in a dangerous situation.
Fridge Malfunction:
The fridge not only stopped working within the first few hours, but it also constantly came open while we were driving, causing our food to spill out. We had to repair it ourselves just to keep it functional, which is completely unacceptable for a rental of this cost.
Missing Basic Equipment:
The RV came without a water hose, something that is essential for any trip. We had to go out and buy one ourselves. How does a rental company overlook such a basic necessity?
Air Conditioning Issues:
The air conditioning leaked water onto the bed and floor when it wasn't cutting out entirely and leaving us sweltering in the July heat. This made nights extremely uncomfortable, not to mention the risk of water damage to our belongings.
Broken Skylight:
The skylight in the shower was broken and held together with tape. This is a clear sign of poor maintenance and lack of care for the condition of the RV.
Water Tank Problems:
We weren't told that the fresh water tank only holds 80% of its capacity while in transit, which left us without enough water to even shower. This critical information should have been disclosed upfront, not after we were stuck without water.
Black Water Tank Odors:
Despite emptying and flushing the black water tank, there were constant foul odors throughout the RV. This level of maintenance is unacceptable.
Unacceptable Condition:
The RV was in poor condition overall. It was poorly kept, poorly presented, and looked like it should have been retired a long time ago. For the price we paid, we expected much more.
Terrible Customer Service:
We reported these issues to All Star Coaches after our trip ended on July 26th, but we didn't get a response until September 12th--48 days later! By the time they finally replied, the explanations were nothing but excuses, far too late to address the discomfort and frustration we endured on our trip.
Previous RV Experience:
As someone who has rented RVs in the USA before, and who owns an RV at home, I can confidently say that this was by far the worst experience we've had. None of these issues are "just part of using an RV" as the company tried to claim.
Final Thoughts:
All Star Coaches failed on every level--safety, maintenance, and customer service. If you're considering renting from them, I urge you to reconsider. We paid a premium price for a substandard product, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we did. read more
