They found me a different insurance company that cost over $1k extra per year. THEN after I waited 2 months for the old insurance company to send me a reimbursement for the prepaid yearly premium, I had to figure out on my own that Admiral had the money all along. When I pressed them about it, they finally sent me the money.

I expected better communication, proper payment verification procedures, and fair treatment as a customer. Here are the details: I sent numerous emails to Andrew asking to cancel my renters policy. Since he never responded, I ended up having to call no less than 5 times trying to get the policy cancelled. At first, my calls were screened by his assistant. Then when I lost patience, his assistant assured me the policy would be cancelled. After a month of this, I realized they had no intention of cancelling the policy. I called one last time to indicate I would pursue all options available to me to fix this situation. Only then was I connected to Andrew who assured me the policy would be cancelled. Fast forward another month, the policy was never cancelled. Unfortunately, State Farm makes it impossible to cancel renters insurance unless it goes through your assigned local agent. State Farm will not cancel your renters policy if you call their 800 number under any circumstance. In the end, I had to switch agents just to get my rental policy cancelled. Andrew refused to follow through on this simple task. Avoid this loser at all costs.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!!! This is the first yelp…read morereview I have ever written, and it is because I want to warn people about working with this brokerage. They cost me upwards of $50K in repairs on my home because of the faulty way they offered and applied for my home owners insurance. As a first time home owner, I was referred to Denise Frayman at JFA-- who seemed perfectly nice and polite. We had a simple phone conversation and after that, she sent me a policy for my home. She asked me how many families the home was, to which I replied a two family, since it had a certificate of occupancy of 2. I was never asked anything beyond this... not how the home was physically structured when we purchased it, nothing. They never sent an inspector out to inspect what they were brokering for insurance. They simply sent over a quote and I blindly followed (shame on me) because I considered them trustworthy and capable. In January, our home suffered 3 burst pipes during the severe cold. The home sustained a large degree of damages, which have so far cost us $50k and will continue to go up (not to mention we could not stay in the home during renovation). After I filed my claim, I was DENIED COVERAGE. Not only that, but the carrier immediately terminated my claim. They stated that I was misrepresenting the home because it was physically set up as 3 floors (that is how we purchased it) despite the fact that we were using it as it was legally sanctioned-- as a two family. We never collected any rent from a "third" unit. And I always stated that it was a two family, because that was how it was being used. It is not my fault that the previous owner had set it up the way they did. JFA NEVER specified anythign about this. When I tried to get some answers, I was siphoned off to Fran Solomon (I have no idea where Denise went). Fran was terrible-- rude, undercutting, careless, and simply egregious. I finally hired a public adjustor who thought everythign sounded fishy and ridiculous. When he tried to contact JFA for more information on what they had put on the application, Fran was downright mean to him and refused to offer anything. And without this information, I have no case. What I also found out from the public adjustor was that THIS SAME BROKERAGE (JFA) together with the SAME CARRIER (UNION) had had the EXACT same type of case only months before. In other words, there was a precedent for this and JFA should have known to inform me as their client prior to insuring me. This has caused such a strain on me and my family and I truly urge anyone considering working with JFA to look elsewhere.

We've been with them a long time. Janet Munoz, and Emaya, particularly, are friendly, considerate, and professional. In one instance, for example, as I recall, Janet went out of her way to arrange and ensure a continuation of our coverage, and at a great price, when our billing temporarily lapsed (which was our fault, not theirs). We've received great service from other team members, as well, in years past. Circumstances prevented me from penning and publising this review sooner, but I'm pleased to do it, nonetheless, and here it is.
