They go three months with the wrong credit card on file. No calls nothing. They then email me trying to cancel my policy. No contact before that. Then I pay the old charges and the next policy deposit. Then they start actually calling me because they need a payment however they no longer have the car that the policy was for. Trying to explain to the girl that I don't owe them money because the insurance is cheaper on the new car. Too much arguing on their end. Cancelled them and will go back to AAA insurance. read more

I've been an Allstate customer for many years now for automotive and renter's insurance. Allstate's a good insurance company, but the policy was written by the owner of another agency somewhere in Northern California. Once the policy was written, I could never get through to that person again for anything that came up, and additionally, there was so much turnover of the staff up there that most requests involved repeating myself just to get a new agent on the same page with me. It was frustrating. I switched to Tyler Cross a year or two ago and quite honestly couldn't be more delighted. First, they're local. What I appreciate most about them is I get consistency with agents. There are two. They are easily accessible. I get to speak with them both, and they always seem to go to "yes". They're transparent about what they know and what they don't about how policies work. If they're not sure of the answer, they're specific in offering phone numbers at Allstate staffed with people who do. Tyler Cross helped me enormously just this past winter when the ceiling in my bedroom closet collapsed from all the rain. They aimed me in the right direction, and that aspect of the claims process was seamless. If I could give Tyler Cross 10 stars, I would. They deserve it. But for now, all I can do is 5, plus a solid shout out. Tyler Cross sets the bar quite high. Highly, highly recommended!! read more

Call a number, get an automated recording telling you they have people ready to help 24 hrs just to get transferred to another automated recording telling you to contact an agent, then they hang up on you. Every 6 months when my existing policy is about to expire, I use online insurance broker tools to find better rates with the same policy I have today. I will say that Allstate's marketing has been working on me (Who doesn't want to be in good hands?) and their reviews are pretty solid compared to the other giant insurance companies out there so I was disappointed when the rates were slightly more than what I currently was paying for. A friend of mine who already had Allstate referred me to give Tyler Cross a try. I gave his office a call and send them my existing policy. A few hours later, I got a call from Allison with her proposal matching my current policy and rates! She asked me a few more questions and an email later gave me an updated proposal that was about 3% less than what I was currently paying for! Needless to say I moved forward with Tyler's agency. Overall an awesome customer service experience. Allison was quick and responsive and I'm happy I am now with a reputable insurance company. I just received an yelp email from Tyler Cross yesterday stating that I have offended him and that the reason for his absense was he was planning his wedding and honeymooning... I have to ask, FOR the last 3 1/2 years he has been planning a wedding and honeymooning since he purchased the agency????? He has been absent and or handed my call off to his staff as he didn't seem to know much about Insurance since he purchased the agency. I gave him a good solid chance as did many of my friends and family, and this excuse would never fly with any good business owner! I wish I could tell my company that I will be mostly absent for 3+ years to plan a wedding and take a honeymoon. Yeah that would never fly. Sorry Tyler, but now I am offended that you think emailing me this excuse is valid for many years of loyalty and referrals to be completely unattended to by you, the new owner! Also, I highly recommend you get your unlicensed staff licensed if they plan to be transacting for you as I am pretty sure Allstate would not approve of this type of business practice. read more
