I initially called to have him take a look at my sump pump since I had just purchased my home and wanted to make sure everything was properly serviced and functioning as it should. Jimmy showed up at the exact time he said he would, took the time to explain the system to me, and quickly identified that the previous owners had actually left the sump pump system incomplete. He walked me through what had been done, explained what still needed to be addressed, and gave me recommendations for who to contact for the next steps. What impressed me most was that Jimmy was incredibly helpful despite the fact that there ultimately wasn't a service he could provide or anything for him to sell me. He treated my home and my questions with the same level of care and professionalism I would expect from a contractor I had hired for a major job. Called Jimmy (the owner) up last week, right at the beginning of the Corona Virus ramp up of national concern. Jimmy came by not once but twice to review the list of things we needed done. He was careful and caring not only about our plumbing issues but also the "new normal". He just finished the work today and in record time. No stress, total professionalism. Number 2 - Told me that he would work with his schedule to give me an earlier time. Jimmy called me back in 5 minutes and he was able to come to my place right away to inspect the unit. His pricing is very fair and reasonable, compared to the quotes I got from other contractors. Jimmy, the owner is a rare find in the world of plumbers. Our pipes burst last week and we woke up to a flooded basement (fortunately we happened to be here at our vacation home over the holidays!) We found Allstate Mechanical on the Internet and called. Jimmy came to our home and during the "service call" (where most companies charge you separately to just diagnose the problem) he was able to not just locate all the broken pipes but he also fixed them. One call. Jimmy is very upfront and honest about pricing which we appreciate. We've been left high and dry with other plumbing companies who surprise us with an "additional price" in the middle of a job - all they do is lowball their initial price to get you to hire them. Not here. Jimmy is refreshingly "old-school" in that he takes great pride in his work, is honest, hard-working, excellent at what he does and makes every effort to make his customer happy. I wanted my domestic hot water heater replaced with a new one I purchased myself. There were many other plumbers who came and went. they were all terrible. They won't show up on time, treat me like an idiot with their questions and they promise to send a quote and never to be heard again or quote me something ridiculous. But Jimmy from Allstate mechanical was fantastic. He showed up on time and gave me honest answers to my questions and offered me alternative solutions that he won't even make a penny out of, and he gave me a quote right then and there which was very reasonable. Then we scheduled a time for the installation. Unfortunately, he got sick severely and he was courteous enough to call me previous day and inform me that he won't be able to make it. I waited for more than a week, he still wasn't well. Then he arranged a friend of his to come and do the install and honor the same price. He promised his friend would do the job just as good as him or even better. I am very satisfied with his friend Norm's skills too and it all got done finally. I called Allstate Mechanical to get pricing for the installation of a new hot water heater. The pricing was in line with other companies who are fully licensed and insured. Got some ridiculously cheap quotes from handyman companies and other plumbing contractors who most likely send unlicensed plumbers to do the actual installation. I decided to go legit on this because of previous issues with unlicensed contractors. My homeowner insurance policy won't cover a claim unless all mechanical (plumbing and electrical) work is physically done by someone with a license). No surprises here. Job was done professionally, neatly and on time! The Owner actually did the installation himself! Would definitely recommend and will use this company again! read more
