We have been an Allstate customer for almost 20 years through two owned properties, a rental property, six cars, and we have never been so disappointed in an insurance company as we are right now with Allstate. Allstate claims that "You're in Good Hands"; however, in this case, you are in good hands to pay their ever-increasing premiums month in and month out for 20 years until you need them. Then the answer is "NO" you're not in good hands with Allstate. We currently have a residential property that has evidence of hail and wind damage on the roof, with active leaks in the attic. However, Allstate refuses to pay for the full roof replacement and guttering system. Allstate has agreed to a semi-repair for the interior damage; however, they have denied fixing the exterior damage, which is the root cause of the problem. If the exterior roof is not replaced, then there will continue to be interior damage. By admitting there is interior damage caused by the active leaks from the exterior damage, then they are responsible for paying for a complete roof replacement. I have personally been on our roof and in our attic with contractors and public adjusters, seen the damages, and had the evidence explained to me. Without a shadow of a doubt, our insurance carrier owes us for all these damages. As we've learned, Allstate is notorious in the industry for not paying out claims that they should. In our previous home, where we also had some roofing issues from storm damage, everyone around us was getting their roofs replaced except for us due to the simple fact that we had Allstate as our insurance carrier. At this time, in our opinion, Allstate is creating detractors out of their customers and should be focusing on creating promoters. Review of Allstate Claims Adjuster Rudolph Campbell I had an extremely frustrating experience with Allstate claims adjuster Rudolph Campbell. He was scheduled to call me at 8:00 a.m., then texted saying it would be 8:30 due to a meeting. Instead, he called at 7:45 a.m., which felt intentional so I'd miss the call. During our conversation, I explained that I understand Allstate must issue payment within five business days for undisputed claims, but also that the law allows them to hold the payment if the policyholder requests it. I asked them to hold it, but Rudolph insisted on wiring the funds, which I declined. It felt like an attempt to rush the claim and quietly close it, even though I am still disputing key parts. Allstate refused to cover $1,650 in storm damage to my back fence. We paid out of pocket to fix it. They also incorrectly listed the number of windows in my home and are only covering 4 of the 10. I received a letter requesting more information, and Rudolph had no idea what it was about. He repeatedly talked over me, showed no empathy about my health, and hung up when I raised my voice out of frustration. If this is not resolved, I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance as well. He called Allstate right away and had his car towed to the body shop, his car was at the body shop for two weeks without anyone from Allstate to look at his car to estimate the cost of the repair, after Many call by the body shop and my son they finally sent an adjuster And they sent my son a check for $1400.00 not the body shop which couldn't start working until they get the money now fast forward a little bi, the body shop called Allstate telling them the cost for repairs will total $4,500 not $1,400 so they had to resubmit to Allstate the full cost of repairs which was done on the 24th of March. Allstate didn't want the body sho to order new parts from the dealership instead they ordered used parts which the body shop has not received the parts and today is April 1st and my son has to return his rental car on April 2nd I try getting an extension for his rental from Allstate but was denied by Carl can't give you his last name but he is the manager of the claims department his reason was Allstate didn't do anything wrong. There is nothing that this company could do to improve, but I will go ahead and leave my review because I think it's important. We got into an accident in our 2013 Honda crv. It was the other guy's fault. We looked up the numbers for the identical car and the identical condition as ours as requested by Allstate. We were given $2000 less than what the car was worth. We contacted all state and they told us to send in more pictures with the numbers so we found them all for the exact same car 2013 CRV Once again they told us they were only giving us 9000 and the car was worth 11,000. I believe the numerous one-star reviews that Allstate has received from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) should serve as a serious warning to any potential customer - avoid this company at all costs. Not only do they engage in bait-and-switch tactics, but when they create problems ( which in my case they acknowledged were caused by them) they still refuse to make things right. Given the sheer size of this insurance provider, I'm both amazed and baffled by how poorly they operate. My personal experience transitioning from their acquired brand, Esurance, to Allstate was nothing short of horrible and completely unprofessional on their part. They are more than happy to take your money, and have even withdrawn additional funds from my bank account without notice or explanation, but when you try to contact them to understand what's happening, you're met with silence or indifference. Zero stars. After being a policy holder for decades, they decided to "terminate" our auto policy on the due date, saying they never received payment. No grace period. Their payment processing center takes many days to process the payment even when paid 2 weeks before due date of bill. So they tried to get my senior mother to double pay or pay a minimum to keep the policy current. When I called the bank which said the check cleared, their local agent acted so surprised that she couldn't swindle my mother of more money. They just sent her a letter of termination of her auto policy dated July 11, 2025 with her check, saying they refused her payment she sent on June 17, 2025 for a due date of June 28, 2025. The termination letter received on July 21, 2025. Unethical. Local agent in Santa Maria, CA, said we should have sent the payment to the local office??????? Her billing statement is sent to Texas to Allstates payment center. They terminated her in December in 2024. Then on June 28, 2025. It's been hell. We were in a wreck August 11 2025. It was the other persons fault and they had insurance.From the beginning we went thru communication problems with the adjusters. We were told to send comps comparable to our car. The comps were for the exact car,miles and the model numberEX-L. We were offered 2,000 less so we said no. We sent more comps proving our car was worth 11,500-11,700. We were told 9,800 which included deductible. We gave up. They then wanted the title which I drove a one hour drive to drop off to the title company. Their directions to email it were way too hard so we hand delivered it instead. Then we noticed we only got 8598.00 instead of 9300.00. So now we're told we have to find another car and send them the bill of sale and they'll reimburse the rest. We never knew any of this due to Kristina in adjustments and her lack of useful communication. So now we've sent the bill of sale and Kristina says the 600 plus will be put into our acct. as we're wondering " why 600?" It was suppose to be 702.00. Lord knows what excuse they'll come up with. Kristina's boss Alexandra in adjustments told us on the phone that she was going to call us in fifteen minutes. NO CALL. Trust me folks you are not in "good hands" with this company. Allstate insurance inspected one of our clients home. All they allotted for significant hail damage was 9 turtle vent and 2 window screens. The funny thing is Allstate allotted .10 of a pickup truck to haul off the debris. Can anyone help me to find 10% of a pickup truck? It's scary... this could happen to you. By the way, for some reason, Allstate loves to throw out the wear & tear issue. Doesn't matter that the home was just built in 2017. You will be lucky to get a reinspection. Even though Allstate missed multiple items, they refused to come back to the property to make it right. We were told by Allstate's representative that they are only required to inspect once and if Allstate decided to come back out, it was because of the courteousness off Allstate. Really, I mean it, really? What about you screwed up and missed many hail impacted items and you want to ensure that Allstate grants the insured a thorough inspection. Nope... This is a general review of Allstate not of any particular agent. This has to do with their customer service quality online. I recently moved to another State from where my auto policy had been originated. I needed help updating address and coverages. Bottom line is the Allstate Chat representatives apparently work from home and when a customer logs in to chat Allstate must train their chat reps to offer as little help as possible. I had thought the rep. I was working with was handling my request and he eventually came back and actually said to me "why are you still on this chat"? "I'm going to cancel your policy"? to which I responded ok. He never did this, he simply ended the chat. I watch a lot of college football and always thought Allstate would be "good hands" I recommend Progressive. Easy to do business with and seem to appreciate their customers time. read more

I recently changed to Allstate Insurance. We only had insured our cars for six months, when they sent me the next charge for six more months. Our premium went up 25% in cost right out of the gate. I called in and got no joy. Someone explained some complex method of "lowering" your costs involving apps and such, but the real issue is that raising rates, especially on a new customer like that is really quite unprofessional and frankly, greedy. My contractor cannot work on my house unless the adjuster responds and this is 2 week with no response (This is the adjuster who physically came out) Prior to this the adjuster that was on the phone didn't respond for 2 weeks and my upstairs flooded. Don't be fooled by their clever tv commercials -- these guys have no idea what they are doing! My commercial vehicle was parked on the street (none of my employees were in the vehicle), when Allstate's insured drove into the back of the parked F-350 Supercrew Dually Flatbed 1-ton truck. The damage was severe. Bent flatbed. Bent leaf spring. Torqued rear axle. The truck should have been totaled. Yet, Allstate elected to repair it. At the same time, Allstate elected NOT to provide my company with a similar work vehicle -- they wanted us to get our work done with a F-150 1/4 ton pickup truck. Then, Allstate sent my truck to a repair shop that DOES NOT REPAIR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES! (Allstate's delay #1) Then, Allstate allowed me to chose a Ford Dealership to repair my vehicle -- but due to COVID they could not even look at my vehicle for an estimate for a week! (Allstate's delay #2) Allstate did not allow my company a rental vehicle until 6 days after the accident! We had an entire crew with no way to perform their work for an entire week! (Guess what Allstate? There is a lawsuit coming!) So, Allstate gives us the rental on Friday, and on Monday (one business day later) Allstate wants the vehicle back! So I spend more time waiting on hold for some random agent to talk to -- no agent was ever assigned to my claim! I calculate I have lost 10 hours of work waiting on hold alone! (Guess what Allstate? There is a lawsuit coming!) Then, Allstate flat our cancels the rental car WITHOUT TELLING ME, on May 29 -- and the repair shop had not even started working on my vehicle yet! I was hit by someone who failed to yield the right of way about 4 months ago. The agents in Mark Goodson's office in Enterprise AL as well as the Allstate adjusters and litigation teams quickly took care of my car's damage and also made sure I got my $500 deductible back. All I really had to do is provide the police report and give statements as to what happened so very little work on my end. Everything went very smoothly and quickly and very professional.
