Van rolled up to our door at 10:05. Star for promptness Brian came in. Was friendly, professional and surveyed the rooms he was going to clean. Explained what he was going to and where he was going to start. Another star for that. Helped move a few things. Cleaned the carpet, put up with our tiny dog. Was super nice to our spoiled dog... very much appreciated that. Another star. Came downstairs cleaned the family room, the room where the dogs run into full of mulch. Yes dyed dark brown. So imagine the paw stained carpet. IT CAME OUT! Star for sure Very happy! Price was reasonable and no hidden costs. Another star Carpet is still kind of wet. Think it should been a bit drier by now considering its 6pm but think thats cuz I haven't been running the heat high enough. So if i could Id deduct a half star So 4.5 stars? We were given the contact information for John Lowry. We reached out to John via text message, and he got back to us quickly and set up an appointment to meet with us at our condo. John arrived with a large variety of samples, and he made informed recommendations about practical floor options to best update all of the rooms in our condo. During this same visit, John measured all of the rooms and helped us decide on both carpeting and hard flooring in under two hours. Written estimates were provided to us via email before the end of that same day. We were able to schedule installation within a couple of weeks. We probably could have had the installation scheduled even sooner, but we had painting that we had scheduled to complete first. We were no longer living in our condo when the installation occurred. Everyone involved with the installation easily worked with our realtor, who was on-site to grant access to the condo, and with me via telephone. We were very pleased with the final results. This time, two young men came out to do the service. One of them entered our home without wiping his shoes and did not wear shoe guards, nor did he offer to put them on. They also did not put anything down on the floor to protect it prior to bringing in the cleaning equipment. While they did work quickly, they spent much of the appointment chatting loudly with each other. Both the couch and cushions were very wet when they finished, but maybe that is normal? Alex finished our basement in our new home. It's about an 800 square ft space, and we did the…read moreunfinished, black ceiling (because of budget), drywall, paint and trim, carpet, lighting and outlets, and a custom made barn door to cover our crawl space. Initially Alex responded quickly to my inquiry and immediately set up a time to come and give a free estimate. However, once we hired him, he started to not communicate and/or take days to respond. We didn't have a timeline, but it's worth mentioning that he told us that the project would be done in 8-10 days once started, but it actually took about 3 months. He gave an initial start date, but ended up pushing that back a couple of weeks, with no explanation as to why. There were days that his workers would come late, or not at all, and near the end, no one showed up for an entire week. But again, because we didn't have a timeline, it wasn't a big deal to us. But, I think it's something to consider if you do indeed have a strict timeline for a project to be done. With all of that being said, however, Alex did very high quality work, and was the only contractor who worked with our relatively small budget. He even went above and beyond with little touches. During the process, we had two friends come over who are inspectors, and they both separately commented on how nice the basement seemed to be coming along. Alex and his employees did all of the work themselves except for the carpet, for which he contracted with someone who he explained was one of the best in the state for carpet. Other than his lack of communication (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), Alex was very plesant to work with. We were very happy with how it turned out in the end.
