They removed our hardwood engineered floor to install laminate wood flooring. After a short time it started cracking and popping when you walk on it. RiteRug came out to check it out then they hired an independent inspector come to see why, then they came and did relief cuts then told us to give it time, so we did. It got worst, we called them back and asked for a refund on our purchase. They only offered $1000 so we figured that's the end of it and we had to sign a waver. Now it's worst then ever. read more

The kitchen had already been done by another company and we did not think we could find a match which would've meant ripping out the kitchen flooring in order to have a match that would run throughout the main floor. Through a lot of research on her part she was able to find a match from a different manufacturer so she saved us quite a bit of money through her efforts. Everything was great when we first showed up and scheduled everything. Unfortunately, after that is when when everything went downhill, as soon as they had our money. The communication there after was just horrible. We were ghosted by the salesman on installation day. We were told people would be there at eight or nine, they didn't end up showing up until noon. Without calling. I called and asked where are they? I was told that the crew that was showing up was a huge crew and not to worry they would bust it out. Well, they showed up and it was two guys, not a HUGE crew and they busted it out all right, but without care and rushed through the whole job. We bought some of their nicest carpet $5/sqft, and the guys installing it were rushing so fast that they had to come back and fix multiple issues. Even after they came back and "Fixed it" I ended up having to go around and with a punch and had to hammer down staples that were sticking up that would poke your feet if you stood on the carpet. This is the best part, when they returned, the helper walked all across a mud pile out front, because our main waterline broke before the carpet was installed, and he walked on top of it, then into the house and onto the brand new carpet without taking his shoes off .See pictures. I told the salesman I wanted all of the carpet edges up to my new tile I had installed, turned and tucked. He told us that was industry standard that obviously that would be done. They did not. They ran the carpet right up to the edge and just smashed it down with a knife and it ended up coming up in the bathroom and just didn't look good at all. There was also a seam that you could stick your finger down in into our master bedroom. This was carpet that cost us $7k for roughly 1,200 sqft. Would not recommend Rite Rug to anyone. Only giving two stars because of the customer service rep that we worked with that you could tell really knew that this was a horrible installation job and you could tell that she felt bad, she was compassionate and apologized. She said she was going to send this case up to their main branch in Dayton, yet still no one has contacted us from the headquarters. You would think they would call you right away to maybe compensate you even a little bit for you having to fix your carpet and pound down staples so that your three-year-old doesn't poke herself on our brand new $7000 carpet... There were quite a few other issues, but I think this is enough to prove my point that they did not take care of us. read more

I'm so disappointed in my wood flooring order with the Rite Rug store in Dublin. Out of 15 boxes, four had significant damage and even the molding is scraped up- it looks used! I called to report the bad delivery and quality and they are telling me it's normal and they will work around it in the install. Some boxes were not damaged but when you pull out a plank of wood it has splintered wood or some kind of damage still. They are not standing by their quality and I had to call four times to get any action and it's still not resolved. Don't use them. It's not worth the bad quality or poor service. read more

After shopping around for selection and price, we decided to have RiteRug replace our carpet and vinyl flooring in our family room, study, hallway and kitchen with hardwood. Their staff was professional, knowledgeable and personable. We hit a snag on install day when the guys picked up our existing floor to reveal a real mess of cracked concrete subfloor. So much so that we had to find a contractor to mitigate the cracks before proceeding. RiteRug gave us a referral, but the wait time was at least 2 weeks so we found another option that allowed us to get the cracks fixed and have the floor completed with only a 10 day delay. We had 2 low areas after the install - places where the floor felt spongy - but a call to their repair department brought the crew back in a timely manner to inject some adhesive, which fixed the floor just fine. We love, love, love our new floor! read more

I am extremely disappointed with Rite Rug and would never recommend them to anyone. Our experience was awful and our salesman, Adam, was full of excuses. The flooring should have taken only a couple of days, but took more than three weeks to be completed. We bought a house in early-February and wanted to change the floors before we moved in. There was carpet in the living/dining room and we wanted laminate or something that could be cleaned easily as my toddler is a messy eater. The only concern was a dip in the floor that was very obvious even with the thin carpet in the room. Adam touted all of his experience and assured us that with the dip our best option was vinyl planking. He said that he had seen this many times before and that vinyl planking was perfect for our situation because it was thin and would mold to the dip without any problems. What ensued was three weeks of nightmarish flooring problems. On installation day, the team tore out all of our floors. Then they told us that they were leaving because the dip was too much for vinyl planking! We paid two different subflooring contractors (including one that Adam assured us could fix the issue) to level the floor. Rite Rug management lied to the installation team and said they had sent an inspector to confirm that the floors were good-to-go afterwards, but that never happened. Apparently the dip was still too large even though it had been greatly reduced. At this point, Adam said that our only options now were to install the carpet that I didn't want (and break even with the cost of the subfloor contractors) or pay an extra $1000 to get actual hardwood. The hardwood was installed, but they didn't put the appliances back that we had paid $40 each for them to move and replace. They had left the washing machine in the garage in subfreezing temperatures for more than a week (thankfully, it doesn't appear to be broken). The dryer vent hose was completely mangled and we had to replace it. They also did not put the air vent covers back on or install the kick covers for the bottom of the kitchen cupboards. After at least seven visits from flooring installers, days of wasted time and paid leave from work on our part, we finally had the floors finished the day before we were set to move in. Of course, everything was heavily covered in dust, so I had to spend a ton of time wiping the whole house down before we could bring our things in. Even then, more flooring dust moved through the air system and settled on our things for the next couple of weeks. And two months after we moved in, Adam called to let us know they didn't bill us correctly and that we still owed them money. The hardwood is okay, but I would have chosen something else if we hadn't felt the time crunch to get floors into the house. read more

The carpet quality is fine but our sales guy was awful. Completely lacked attention to detail and for some odd reason always sound bored or stoned when I talk to him. There was a massive mistake made and they ordered the wrong carpet, which we didn't find out until the day of install. It took me 1/2 a day just to get anyone to confirm that a mistake was indeed made and let me know that they would replace the carpet. Forget about getting an apology - that certainly never happened. Because of this we are now waiting 2 extra weeks to have the correct carpet installed. We are really annoyed. Worst off, nobody at the store seems to care all that much. It really irritated me that they acted like it was no big deal that my remodel is put on hold now and all my furniture is stacked up in the garage...FAN-FREAKING TASTIC. Honestly, I will never shop here again or refer anyone but they do have a 30-day, money back customer satisfaction guarantee, and at least they honored that, otherwise I would have given them one star. read more

So disappointed in Rite Rug- spent over $10,000 in installing wall-to-wall carpeting a year and a half ago. No one lived in the house the first 4 months, so really, the rug has only been lived on for a little over a year. My wall to wall rug is rippled in several rooms (low traffic rooms) and they want to charge me another $75 to diagnose the problem, just to have someone come out and say, "yep, it's rippled and needs to be fixed." They won't tell me ahead of time how much it will cost to get fixed and of course my one year warranty on labor has passed. Clearly, it was not installed correctly, shame on you Rite Rug, I will never shop from you again nor will I recommend you to friends or family. read more

We purchased new indoor/outdoor carpet for our sunroom project from Jim Boals. He was amazing! He was helping other customers as we arrived at the store and still took the time to greet us as we walked in. He made sure to politely break away from those other customers to get us pointed in the right direction to begin looking at samples while he wrapped up. Once we got to work with Jim it was great. He hew what we were looking for and did his best to find a product that met out needs. He not only found us the perfect product for our room design, but he made she we had the best padding/underlayment needed for our application within our budget. The service and installation was top notch! We also got a fantastic follow up call from Jim after everything was done to make sure that we were happy, everything was completed to our liking, and that the staff was the best they could be. We could not be happier working with Jim at Rite Rug and when our next projects come up I know that we will be back. Do yourself a favor and see Jim when you need flooring. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Calls not returned, inaccurate information provided throughout the installation, lost paperwork, told us they'd move furniture and then we ended up having to move some of it ourselves, installed the wrong colored molding.... Oh and they insist on full payment before they even start. Their subcontractors actually did decent work, but Rite Rug staff were just awful. Regional manager finally stepped in and helped, but it should never have gotten to that point. read more

Our wall was badly damaged during the job and we were told that's just part of the clause that you sign to have work done in your home, really? So there can be careless workers in your home destroying who knows what and it's part of the paperwork that you sign regarding minor damages? Now we are left making the repairs. Rite Rug did a fantastic job of installing carpet in six rooms, the stairs and the hallways. J. Boals helped us find exactly what we needed and made sure the process was quick and easy. The installers completed the work in a few hours (removal of the old carpet and installation of the new carpet) and cleaned up (vacuumed) before they left. There was a minor problem with the gas fireplace valve on the floor being covered, but Mr. Boals had this minor issue addressed the next day. No inconvenience at all. We will be returning when we need additional flooring in our downtown condo very soon. Highly recommended! read more

Last summer we went into Rite Rug to order carpeting for our living room and laminate flooring for our kitchen, bathroom, and dining room. After the installers came out and ripped up all of our flooring we were told that we could not have laminate flooring installed because our subfloor was not level. We were never told this could be a possibility. We also had some rot issues which needed to be addressed. So we were left with a torn up floor, and our toilet had been removed. We were given the name of a contractor "that only does work for Rite Rug" to fix the issues with our subfloor that needed repair before the new flooring could be installed. We contacted him but he was too busy with new-build homes and couldn't come out for 2-3 months!! We were left to find our own contractor. Keep in mind we were living now in a house with a torn up floor with exposed nails and staples and no toilet (on the main floor) with two small children. On a side note, the plumber that Rite Rug had provided informed us that our toilet leaks but he could conveniently supply us with a new one for $200. Turned out that the toilet only needed a seal replacement for $10. We finally were able to have the subfloor repaired and the floor installed. From start to finish between appointments with the plumber, contractor and Rite Rug this went on for a couple of months. The day the flooring was installed, the install "team" was made up of one person because the other 2 didn't show up for work that day. The one man crew didn't address the loose nails and staples in the subfloor prior to laying the vinyl planks. He also installed off color trim which we didn't know was going to happen. He left without saying anything and took the extra planks with him, which we felt that we may need in the future for maintenance and not to mention was paid for by us. Then the plumber came out and refused to replace the toilet because the toilet that was leaking rotted the subfloor. The problem here was that the vinyl planks had already been installed over the rot. So we again contacted Rite Rug and they sent out the "Inspector/subfloor fixer". He "fixed" the subfloor and assured us we would receive extra vinyl planks that the install crew took with him. The plumber came back and said he still couldn't install the toilet and any other follow up visits would have to be paid for by us. So we again hired our own contractor to patch the subfloor and install the toilet. We never received the extra planks either. Flash forward a few months. The vinyl planking is separating in several areas, and nails are poking through the floor. We called Rite Rug to file a complaint. They sent out two different inspectors, one from Rite Rug and one from the manufacturer of the flooring. Again more appointments and time spent. It was decided the floor would be replaced. We were told that someone would call us to set up an appointment to inspect the floor before anything new was installed. That person never called and we had to follow up in order to set up the appointment. Communication has been extremely difficult as some issues have been dealt with via the store, and some issues with customer service. There has been a lot of back and forth phone calls between multiple contacts. Every time we contacted the store or customer care, we were told "I'll have to look into it and call you back." But we would not get a call back and we had to initiate the follow up every single time. To date, the flooring has still not been replaced. There are a lot of details left out of this posting that have been extremely frustrating, but I have typed long enough. I realize the subfloor issues have nothing to do with Rite Rug, but we're not contractors and don't have time for DIY home improvement projects which is why we paid for a complete install in the first place. Some cooperation from Rite Rug, a little more product knowledge, and more reliable contractors would have probably remedied this situation. Not to mention a lot better communication between the store, customer care, the plumber, the subfloor contractor, and the installation crew. In short, I would not recommend this business to anyone, and our needs have still not been met after a year and a half. read more

The carpet quality is good and the price was competitive with other places. Probably a bit better since they threw in furniture moving for free. The salesman is what I had a problem with. The first time they came to install the carpet, they did not bring enough to finish job because the salesman did not measure correctly. They left the loft unfinished and had to re-order the carpet. I had to constantly stay on top of the salesman to get another installation date scheduled. They finally came out again to install the carpet and lone behold the measurements were wrong again! The installers said they could piece the rest of the loft together with scraps in the garage. I did not want to drag it out any further so I told them to do that. So I ended up with 4 pieces in one room when I was told it was going to be seamless. After the installation was complete, the salesman stopped answering and returning my calls. I contacted a store manager and that went nowhere. I felt like I deserved some sort of a rebate because of the way the installation turned out. Luckily, the installers were good at their job and were very cooperative, although they spoke broken English. It is because of the salesman and management that I will never do business with them again. read more

They do have a nice selection of flooring and the prices seem quite decent. The only places we have to compare to are Lowe's and Home Depot so the comparison is limited perhaps. I bought two remnants to be bound. We requested different backing for each. Three of us were at the desk as I placed the order with Denelle. What we got is not what I ordered. When I called Denelle she said it was what I signed for. Shame on me for trusting our conversation and not reading the hard to decipher work order. Kevin was down to earth and knowledgeable. Since we choose an in stock product they were willing to come that weekend to put in the wood floors but they were flexible with our schedule and came the next weekend. The floor installers were prompt, friendly and courteous, and VERY QUICK! We had close to 1000 sq ft of hardwood installed and they completed the install 1 1/2 days. I was always impressed with the installers willingness to work with us; considering we had to move pretty much everything in our home.
