Think dealing with people in the car industry is easy? Well, Abel from Allston Collision Center made it a breeze. I grazed both passenger side doors pretty deep with a fire hydrant and had to get them replaced. I own a Lexus GS350. Not only are the parts hard to find but doors with the same color (Smokey Granite) are rare. I know because I looked all over this country, just to gauge how much it would cost me and it looked pretty bad. These guys saved me from a possible disaster. I started calling Auto body shops in Allston because I live in the area. I went over to Glenville Terrace and told them I'll pay cash. They told me it would cost 5K before taxes, they deal with insurance so it's more money and less work on their part. I said that's more money than I was willing to pay and they wouldn't budge. I called another shop and they asked me to buy my own doors and then call them. This seemed quite sketchy so I never called them again. Another shop told me they'd charge me $50 just for an estimate. I almost gave up and thought I'd call my dealership and get it done but that meant shelling out an abysmal amount of money. Enter, Allston Collision Center. I thought I'd give one last try so I called them and Abel picked up and asked me to come in. As I parked my car, Abel came to greet me. I'd never felt so welcome at an Auto Shop, gave me Amazon customer service vibes. We looked at my car and told me he needed to talk to their parts manager and will get back to me in a couple of hours. He called me within 2 hours and gave me an estimate. He was super nice and worked with me to get the cost down. He told me the parts need to come from Canada and California so it would take about a week for them to arrive. I gave a deposit and came in a week later to drop off my car, just as he asked. It took him 3 days to sandblast, recolor and match the color with the rest of my car, also showed me pictures of the entire process. He also buffed minor scratches and scruffs for free and gave me a lifetime warranty as far as I own this car. It took me a year to find the right person to fix my car and I'm glad I found Abel and the Allston Collision Center. When they say they'll take care of you, they mean it and will jump leaps and bounds to make sure of that. read more

Great bunch of guys, very friendly, but the quality of work SUCKS! I am sad to have to write a bad review for this place as Paul and Mark are the nicest guys ever and took care of me throughout the time they had my car and did a great job dealing with my un-cooperative insurance company. But in the end, I care more for my car and the quality of the repair, which is absoultely sub par. I came in with scratches and paint chips all over my front end, and I asked them to fix it. What they consider fixing is taking a spray paint gun over the old panel (on top of old paint and clear coat). No sanding, no prep work whatsoever. All the old chips are merely covered by paint and clearly visible. A brand new front bumper was purchased and painted the wrong color. Straight up different color yet claimed that's the best they can do and if they wanted me to blend in that color to the rest of the car I would have half my car the wrong color. I would understand blending into old body panels to be a tough job, but both the hood and fenders were painted fresh by them but they couldn't match the color of the bumper. Hood was also painted fresh, yet they missed a pretty sizeable patch right in the middle of it where you can clearly see the old paint. Again, chips and scratches were merely painted over with no prework whatsoever. I spend over $4000 for a few body panels and the best they could do for that money is to just cover up the scratches. I could've done just as good of a job at 'patching' up the chips with a $20 paint chip pen. I would understand if this was a cheapo job, but for that kind of money it's absolutely unnaceptable. Less than a week later, the paint is already getting chipped. There are over 10 different chips in the paint all over the front. Did not even drive this car as usual, just had it sit in my driveway, yet it looks just as bad as before. Stay away from this place if you expect any kind of decent work, and if you are willing to settle for bad paint be prepared to pay a lot for it too. read more

Mark and Paul are the most professional Auto Body people I have ever dealt with. They are not only on time and full of frank honesty they do the best job I have seen. I have taken my '04 Infiniti to Allston Collision several times and will continue in the future. There is a reason the major auto dealers in Boston send their vehicles to Paul, he is the best in the business. When their are commonly brand new Mercedes, BMWs, Infinitis, and Porsches sitting to have their minor dents taken care of from truck transport, you can trust them to take excellent care of your car. Reasons to send your vehicle to Allston Collision: 1) They work closely will all the major insurance companies adjusters to make you, not just the insurance company happy. 2) They focus on even the most minor scratches, dings and dents that occurred from the damage, not just the major damage itself. Paul has on numerous occasions fixed minor scratches (at no extra cost) because he saw them when they were working on something. If that isn't service I'm not sure what is. 3) They detail inside and out every vehicle they work on. 4) They communicate at every point in the process, even if its to say "Everything is moving along fine." 5) They are the on the fore front of green auto body techniques in Massachusetts and no longer use volatile organic compounds in their paint rather working water based paints that are far better for the environment, along with other recycling efforts. I'm not sure where the experiences of other people on Yelp are coming from, but I'm convinced they aren't talking about the same business. Allston Collision is the only place I go to get my car fixed. It is the only place I recommend to my friends and family as well. It is very rare to find an auto repair shop where you can be comfortable just dropping your car off and letting them fix your car but my experiences with them has built this comfort level for me and I am here to assure you that not only will they do the job perfectly, but they will do only what is necessary and be completely up front and honest with you what you need and don't need. I highly recommend them. I came across Allston Collision five years ago when I was new in town and needed to get my car fixed. I called the Lexus of Watertown dealership to get estimates for my IS300 and I ended up asking when I can pick up my car and they said it will take a while because they don't fix damaged cars at the dealership, they send them to Allston Collision to get repaired. So I figured I would get it fixed straight at the source to save some time. They were honest, professional, very accessible and they did a tremendous job. Since then, I have gone back to them numerous times for a number of different things and they treat me just as well every time. They have treated my family and friends just as well too when I recommended Allston Collision to them. This is the type of repair shop where they not only offer to fix that headlight that is out for free just because they noticed it on the way in, but they will offer you some pizza while you wait because they were having a little pizza party. I purchased a brand new Mustang GT for my nephew two years ago when he was eighteen; in retrospect; probably not the best idea. He has been very hard on the car, and had many dents and scratches. (however I do remember my first car at that age and the feeling of being untouchable). One night parked in an apartment complex someone smashed into his driver side rear panel; this was not just hit, it was smashed. He was sick about it and had no idea how to go about getting it fixed (insurance paperwork) or where to bring it. I had a simple answer "Allston Collision Center". My friends have had their cars worked on there and have been extremely happy; now I know why. We brought the car over to be looked at, and the rest was taken care of. We were walked through the insurance process, what would need to be done and made an appointment to leave the car. Two weeks later, my nephew has his car back looking brand new. Not only did they fix the damage, but all the aforementioned dents and scratches have disappeared!!! The car looks as sleek as the day he drove it off the dealer lot , both inside and out. My 2015 BMW X3 needed both front and rear end repairs due to two collisions. In short, Paul and his team did a fantastic job on the repairs and I highly recommend Allston Collision Center. Some details below: Quality of work: The team did a great repair, ensuring use of replacement parts rather than repairing the existing parts. Paint match, panel gap alignment, and blending all looked great. I have done paint and body work myself, so I know how to spot good work. No overspray or leftover evidence of the repair. As a bonus the car was thoroughly cleaned inside and out and looked fantastic. Service: Paul and his manager were very responsive, available by phone, and always remembered my case without me having to explain it. Super friendly the whole time. They accommodated me dropping off a rental car at their facility too. Cost/insurance interaction: The process was seamless for me, once I had a claim number they worked out everything with the insurance so the car was fixed correctly. Since the accidents were not my fault, everything was covered by insurance. Bonus: Paul was thoughtful enough to notice I had the M Sport package bumper and made sure not to drill holes in it (like the dealer did) for my license plate. He recommended some alternatives to drilling holes in the bumper so the plate could be mounted. The car looks way better than before. I am very happy writing a 5 star review for Paul, Mark and his whole team at Allston Collision Center as they do a 5-star job. I had two collisions with my new Honda car (both not my fault!! :(). My front and rear bumper had suffered damages with the back door sustaining greater damage ( the whole air hood had come out and the tail gate door was totally damaged). I had appraised it with my insurance company. My appraiser recommended Allston collision center, so I did some research online and found nothing less than 5 star reviews for this company. I immediately made my mind that i will take my car to them. Right from the beginning, Paul made me feel comfortable and that repair of the car would be his and not my headache anymore. True to his word, he managed everything with not bothering me even once (the only call i got from him was "Sir your car is ready"). They also took care of additional charges that the appraiser did not take into account without any hassles to me by speaking directly to the insurance and other guys. And when i went to pick the car up, i couldn't believe my eyes as the car looked better than when i had bought it. They fixed all the damages and did top of the work (waxing, painting etc.. ) excellently. These guys really take their job seriously and perform the work with utmost sincerity. These guys are superb! You never want to be there, especially after taking fastidious care of your car, but after a Boston "fender-bender", they were recommended by a friend (a "local") who has had several jobs done there. Paul and Mark could not have been nicer. Our insurer insisted on after-market parts, so we talked to Paul, who worked out an OEM part "upcharge" that we paid for, and was more than reasonable (we are an all-Subaru household). Work was done ahead of schedule and to perfection. Not long ago, I backed into our other vehicle (at 3 MPH). I got an estimate locally (in Maine with the shop knowing I was paying for it, not the insurer), and based on previous experience, drove down to Boston and received an estimate lower by $700 (again for OEM parts). When I drove back to Maine, I took it by my usual mechanic (who had recommended the local shop); they were "blown away" by the quality of the work which was indistinguishable from new. The other vehicle that was done locally is going back down to Boston for a "redo" hood alignment. All that said, another "plus" is that they are on the #66 MBTA bus line with a bus-stop out front and across the street, so if you are a "local", you may need not a rental car at all. (And as others have suggested, ask for a cash price.) Yes, these guys are so good, and so reasonable, I drove 200 miles to get there, and get the job done right - the first time! Paul and Mark at Allston Collision Center run a great shop. Unfortunately I needed to replace the engine in my "new to me" Jeep after only a few months of having it. I called around to almost a dozen different shops for quotes on the work and Allston Collision Center was not only the cheapest, but I Paul was the most helpful on the phone when speaking to him. Instead of just providing a quote, he walked me through every line of detail on it and even provided costs behind some of the "unknown costs" that might need to be incurred once the old engine was stripped down and he had a better idea of what could and could not be reused. He worked directly with the company providing the new engine to get it to his shop and had it installed in under a week. Throughout the entire process, he would give me periodic updates on their progress. I was extremely impressed with his level of professionalism and knowledge throughout the entire process. Not only was I impressed with the install of the engine, but Paul also offered to try to sell it for me and even let me keep it on his lot until it was sold....he let me keep it on his lot for 6 MONTHS while I dealt with prospective buyers. I don't know any shop that would let their customers do that. From the day I dropped it off, until the day I picked it up, Paul and Mark were friendly, honest and courteous. My car was damaged on the passenger-side. I initially chose Allston Collision Center because of the great reviews from past customers, and the proximity of the repair shop to my residence. When I brought my car to the shop at 7am (it's great that the shop is open so early), Paul (the owner) came out and took a look at my car and told me exactly what needed to done and gave me an estimate. He guided me through the entire process from calling the insurance company through to the completion of the repairs. After I made the initial call to the insurance company, Paul and his team did everything else from there. Paul and his team communicated directly with the insurance company to figure out what needed to be done and got it done. I didn't have to do anything until it was time to come pick-up the car. They made the entire process very painless. When I picked up my car, it looked brand new! A week after I picked up my car, Paul sent me an email to follow-up and make sure that everything was working properly. Paul and his team are very knowledgeable about vehicle repairs and the collision repair process. Additionally, they are extremely nice, friendly and professional. Allston Collision is amazing! After I got sideswiped while stopped at a light I had to research a good body shop in the area since I just moved here a few months ago. Allston Collision seemed to have the best reviews in the area, and after their work on my car I can see why. Thankfully my dashcam caught the license plate of the person who did it because they just kept on driving afterwards, and since the other person was 100% at fault, their insurance covered everything. Paul and his team kept me up to date with them working with the other person's insurance to get everything squared away as well as the progress on the car. They took the exact amount of time that they quoted when I first brought it in, and when there which was awesome. After I got my car back, Paul walked around it with me to tell me everything they did just so I was aware, and while we did this, there was a small scratch on one of the trim pieces that I noticed. He immediately ordered a replacement which arrived just a couple of days later, and they got me in and out in under an hour. There was also a scratch on the opposite side mirror from when the car was in the shop and they replaced the entire thing free of charge. When they say they have a lifetime warranty on their work, I don't doubt it one bit, and if anyone asks me where to take their car for repair work Allston Collision Center will be at the top of my list. read more

My car broke down on the Mass pike recently coming out of Boston. Was the scariest experience to be go 65 miles an hour and drop to 0 in an instant. I was able to coast to the side of the road and wait for a State Trooper to have me towed. Living in Western Mass I and no idea were to call to take the car too. Allston Collision was recommend by my brother who lives in Natick. Best advise you ever gave your big sister. Paul and Mark and the crew were so great. They worked on this car for an entire week to make sure everything was fixed and working well before I drove it back to Western Mass. The car for four years had been hesitating and not wanting to pick up and go. I had it into the dealer here in Western Mass twelve times to be told each time nothing was coming up on the codes. Paul,and Mark were able to see the issue as soon as they opened the cover to the engine. Mark helped me get in touch with General Motor Corporation to have them go over all my paper work since I bought the car. He was able to get them to replace the cadilitic converter and I just was notified today they are reimbursing part of the repairs. I can't say enough good things about this place! I have been hit several times in Boston, mostly via hit and runs.The first time I was hit, I was rear-ended in my parking lot. My neighbor admitted the fault, and her insurance sent Allston Collision the check. For some reason (and luckily), I did not get my car repaired right away. A few months later, I was then hit again in the same spot, in a hit-and-run. Paul assessed the damage, and still had my check from the previous encounter. He did not raise the rate at all, and I had peace of mind. This past winter, my car was hit again by a neighbor. Paul quickly assessed the damage and assured me he would fight the insurance company on my behalf, if they argued against his rate. Paul gave an excellent price for his services though, so there was no need for this. When my car was returned to me, it looked wonderful. In addition to the repairs, the outside was cleaned and waxed, and one of Paul's men had even sanded down my lights so that they were shining brightly. Additionally, they cleaned the inside of my car! There was absolutely no need or expectation for this service, but I am so grateful for it. Although I have been bringing my cars to Allston Collision for over a decade, just recently, I was saved by these guys, big time! I was hit in my front end just over a week before moving cross-country and I NEEDED to get my car fixed before I moved...no exceptions. Naturally, I took my car to Allston Collision and Paul looked me in the eye and promised that my car would be ready before I left. Not only was my car finished a day early and looking great, Paul took the time to call me and let me know of the work's progress while I was stressing about the moving process; this really put my mind at ease. He also guaranteed that if I were to have any issues with the repair in my new town that he would work with my new local auto-body business in the future, if necessary...this is because he is a stand-up guy who runs a stand-up business. I have known Paul to always give me a good deal, accommodate my situations over the years and also be very fair and responsive to any issues regarding repairs. Last week, I brushed up against a cement post in a university garage which took off a great deal of red paint on my precious Toyota Corolla driver-side doors. The doors looked unsightly and were at potential risk for rust. My favorite mechanics, Tom and John at Brighton Center, recommended Allston Collision. Boy were they right! I had previously received estimates of over $ 800 to buff up and paint. At Allston Paul--the guiding force behind this family-owned business--indicated that if I didn't want to spend a fortune, he could arrange to buff and get out much of the damage. He did the job in less than a half hour. When I asked him how much I owed, he replied "Nothing," adding: "How could I charge you for 15 minutes of work?" When I insisted on paying him $100 he also politely declined. We settled on $20 which he said would cover the costs of treating the other guys in the shop to coffee. As I was leaving he told me to bring back some touch- up paint as he could do a better job than I could. A honest man doing an honest day's worth of work in these unbelievably difficult times. Allston Collision Center was FANTASTIC. Paul and Mark were extremely helpful along every step of the way, from step 1 -filing the initial claim to the insurance company, to the last step - reviewing the work they did to the car when I picked it up. Someone hit my 2006 Mercedes Benz in a parking lot, causing damage to the headlight, side panel and hood of the car. When I brought my car in, Paul assisted me in getting a rental car I was entitled to under my insurance policy, and personally coordinated times with the appraiser to look at the car. Each time I called, Paul was very detailed in telling me where we stood and giving me an ETA of when it could be expected to be completed. A week later it was done, and it looked AMAZING - it actually looked better than when it went in!! So, I'm not sure what Jenna was talking about below when she said her car was in there for 3 months and getting the run-around each time she called up. While my morning started with a flat tire, I still feel lucky to have literally stumbled upon this fantastic business. I noticed a flat tire this morning on my way to work. As I waited in traffic on Cambridge St to find the nearest place with an air pump, Paul saw me and let me know about my flat. He immediately had me pull over, moved around the cars in his lot, and brought me right into the garage to assess the tire. He and his team pumped up the tire, checked it for any leaks, and even filled up my washer fluid which was running low - all free of charge. Within less than 10 minutes I was ready to hit the road. If Paul hadn't stopped me, I would have ended up paying for a new tire. Instead, Paul and his team helped me out of the generosity of their hearts to make sure I got to work safely. What would have been a headache of a morning turned out to be really pleasant due to their unbelievable customer service. I really cannot say how wonderful this team is. I needed to replace my front bumper cover on my 2012 BMW 535i. My brother in law recommended Allston collision center to me. They were very easy to work with, Paul and Mark took care of all the insurance appraisal and paperwork and kept me informed thru out the repair process. They also had a rental car ready for me on site and they returned my rental as well. They finished my car right on schedule and returned it hand washed and vacuum when I pick it up. I am pretty picky about my car, the paint job on the bumper looks like new, Allston collision center did a great job on it. I had some minor paint work done at a authorized BMW dealer body shop a few months ago, honestly, I thought Allston collision center did a better job than the authorized BMW dealer body shop. One of the reason I went with Allston collision center is that they work on a lot of high end cars, when I was there, they had a Lexus, BMW and a Range Rover in their lot. That's a good indication they do good work, I highly recommend Allston collision center to anyone in need of body work. read more

I stumbled upon this small shop by accident when I had just gotten in an accident where my right head was completely taken off. Once I arrived the staff was very attentive and very helpful in directing me to where I was looking. While I was there I talked to Abel and he guided me thru all the steps I needed on what I need to do and the process of going thru my insurance. Abel was very professional, knowledgeable and easy-going, so I decided to leave my car with them rather than go to the other shop. All I did was fill out a quick form and he took care of everything, in less than 2 weeks he had my car looking brand new with same brand car parts. From start to finish I had just called once to see how everything was and then he followed up with my cars good to go. My car was fully covered but looking at the receipt it was very fair price. Customer service was beyond excellent and they cleaned my car inside and out also. Thank you for making my unfortunate situation very easy and stress free for me.
