I took my laptop in for some issues, it had a black screen when i turned it on & I would have to wait 10 min. for it to go away, also the screen was constantly flickering. I encountered a sudden and troubling problem with my computer and needed both service and reassurance that the issue could be resolved without loss of a significant number of files. I had never been to Alltech and didn't know what to expect. They quickly assessed the problem and were very professional and helpful in walking me through the process and giving me confidence that the issue could be resolved without significant disruption for my home office computer on which I rely so heavily. They estimated that the resolution would take from 2 -4 days, but they had my computer back to me the next day. I talked to a number of technicians and everyone was helpful and pleasant. Good Work at a Fair Price... I rely on my computer...a 27 inch Mac...for almost everything at home and work. I've had nary a problem during the past 10 years, but the hard drive recently began to show signs of wearing down. Since it was a product of Apple, I first contacted another place - MacDoc - but I never heard back after 2 tries. So I turned to Alltech and I'm glad I did. I brought my Mac into the shop at 2 PM on a Monday...described the problems and paid $40 for diagnostic tests which would be reimbursed if I had Alltech do the service. I had a call back about 24 hours later describing the issues - a new hard drive was needed - got an estimate and asked them to go ahead and transfer all data from the old one to the new one. Early Wednesday afternoon (roughly 48 hours from when I dropped it off), they called to say it was ready to be picked up. Fortunately there were no other customers when I arrived so I had a chance to test my machine and make sure access to critical programs and data was maintained. Everything looked fine and I paid my bill which was the same amount as the estimate. A few things to keep in mind. Alltech is a popular place. Be prepared to wait 5 or 10 minutes...maybe more...when you arrive. The guys I spoke with and met - Josh and Tyler - didn't exactly have magnetic personalities, but seemed to know their stuff and that's what counts. The website says they're guided by Christian principles and the background music while on hold and in the shop is similar to that. Still, if they can do a good job and actually follow-through in a Christian way, I'm all for it. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Alltech computers! My iMac had the white screen of death and these guys did a killer job at figuring out what was wrong and fixed it. The whole process went smoothly and they communicated very well. I wouldn't second guess taking any of my computer issues back to them. I Highly recommend the team at Alltech! Regarding the repair: Josh called me with the initial diagnosis, repair and how much it was going to cost. Competitor down the road said hard drive gone, nothing retrievable, gave me a flyer of a guy that could possible retrieve data for about $4000, charged $39 for that diagnosis then said they would pay me $40 for the tower & they would use for Took to Alltech, diagnosed same as other place but repaired for $240 AND retrieved data. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received today. I have been a customer of Alltech for years. My Dell Laptop has been serviced many times. I brought it in this morning because I was concerned it was overheating. It was making an unusual noise last night, which continued this morning. I was told they were not busy and could diagnose the problem today. I paid the $50 diagnosis fee and heard nothing back. I called around 4pm, knowing they close at 5 and I didn't want to be without my laptop all weekend. I didn't get a call back, so I drove over, and the woman who had waiting on me in the morning wasn't there. Two guys at the counter were waiting on other customers. Finally the guy who had been working on my laptop said he couldn't find a problem. I had little confidence that he had tried. No communication during the day, and if I hadn't showed up at 4:30, they would have kept my laptop over the weekend without a word. I paid $50 for nothing. read more

THEN, she went above and beyond and checked to see if the Mac was still under warranty. Which it was. THEN she went the extra, extra mile and set-up an appointment for me at the Apple Store in SLO to have it repaired through them. Can you believe it?! I took my Mac book air to three local computer repair places in SLO county each telling me my hard drive was corrupt and I would have to send it to the Bay Area for data recovery. I did that, they quoted me a whopping 4k for data recovery...and then they told me they could not access my computer and therefore they could not do anything for me and all my data was lost. :( priceless photos all gone. In a final attempt to get my computer working, I took it here to at least get a new hard drive installed to see if I could at least have a working computer again. By some miracle they fixed my computer which after all in fact, was not a failing hard drive was something wrong with the internal keyboard, they fixed that for free. Because my computer was seven years old, I decided to upgrade the hard drive to a hard drive to one that was twice the size- it was done within a few days these people seriously made my year. A coworker referred me to michael. She had the same situation I was dealing with and that was my harddrive crashed. I had not backed up work for a month and it was a matter of losing my job.
