I went today to try a new salon and big mistake! The receptionist was very nice, but then the girl that did my nails was rough and it was not a relaxing process at all. When she glued the tips on, she glued more of my skin down on my thumbs and in process broke through my skin and gave me a cut under my thumb. She pulled my hands often to where she wanted them. I will never forget my very bad experience with a nail technician at Allure. i was beig watched by two caucasian customers while the nail technician disrespected me inside their shop. I said very tactfully that i did not like her filing the top of my nails and was hurtingthe top of my nails. I said it twice and she just stood up and left me. UPDATE 12/11 Mimi called me last Friday to ask what happened. She offered to fix them. I went in on Monday, she took the old polish off and put on a new and different brand. Today is day 3 and they look perfect. Just the same as when I left. Mimi explained that perhaps the brand of the color I chose doesn't work well with my nail type. Mimi chose the IBD brand in a similar color. I'm appreciative of Mimi's call and her willingness to make it right. Not a lot of businesses will do that. I got a classic pedicure and a no chip manicure, $60 before tip. My water was ICE COLD. I asked for it to be warmer and I swear she made it colder. I had my nails done on Wednesday 11/27 and by Sunday 12/1 they were already peeling from my cuticle. As of today, 12/3 the peeled parts are chipping off. One of my toe nails has already chipped as well. I haven't done anything extraneous that would result in my polish chipping or peeling. My previous pedicure from my usu was from September and none of the polish had chipped, it was just out grown. We won't be going here again. read more

I love going to allure! They are very engaging with you in English, and I've been there a few times and they actually remember my name! They do a really good job. I haven't had any problems. If you do have a problem, they fix it right away. I also like it because it's not an overwhelmingly smell of chemicals when you walk in! I've been here twice and I don't know if I will come back. When you walk in someone sitting at a workstation yells at you to see what you need done. They don't ask if you have an appointment and they don't get up. They just tell you to put your phone number in the kiosk. I've had the same woman do my nails twice. She is highly skilled but does not speak to you the entire time. There is no TV or anything to look at, so you have to just stare at nothing for 30 minutes to an hour in complete silence. I asked for a design and she nodded that she could do it, and then she did not do it in the end. When checking out, they harass you about paying a tip with a card. They want cash. If you don't have cash, they ask if you have a Zelle or Venmo for the tip as "the credit card companies take 30% of the tip money" which 1, is not true nor makes any sense and 2. Not my issue. It costs me $3 at least to get money from an ATM and I have to go out of my way to get it. The harassment about the cash tip vs. card tip left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. read more

Went to this salon for the first time today. I have to say it was a nice change of pace. The place was calm, quiet, and relaxing. Good relaxing music too. They also had a pretty wide range of nail polish colors to choose from. I got a no chip manicure. The woman was nice, friendly, and made sure she did her job well. My nail polish was thin so didn't cover in one coat but she didn't give up on my nails, she ended up putting on four coats of polish. Which I appreciate since some places will give up before the polish fully covers the nail (making sure you can't see the nail bed through the polish). The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because the place is cash-tip only which can be inconvenient for some and the woman working on my nails seemed to be in a hurry. The first time I went here with my mom and husband it was not a bad experience besides my mom asking one of the employees if they had a long day because she clearly looked irritated. I left with 5 nicks and burning hands. I have gone to Allure for a few years. I started with one person and had continual black spots under my nails (I get acrylic nails) so I changed and started going to Brian. He does a great job and I would still be going there is it wasn't for several things I was a witness to my last several appointments. First off I came every two weeks (always made appointment, never walked in) tipped over 30%, and was NEVER late, I would consider myself a "regular". I will tell you only what broke the camels back....MiMi!!! To make a long story short, I had a 9:15 appointment with Brian. On my way to my appointment there was a road closure.. Being concerned I would be late I called and left a message, a minute later I received a call from Mimi telling me I would have to reschedule. This was at 9:14. I proceeded to tell Mimi that I could see the salon and would be there in less than a few minutes and she insisted that I cancel my appointment and reschedule so I would not put Brian behind for the day. Reiterating to her that I was right in front of the salon she finally said FINEI walked into the salon at 9:17. Mimi sat right next to me never saying a word to me. I sat at Brian station for the next 10 minutes with no Brian. He hadn't even come to the salon yet. I have since found a much nicer place that treats their clientele with respect. I will continue to tell this story to anyone and everyone that asks where I get my nails done!!! I just read the response to this review and it is faults. Lie if you need to, I never raised my voice. Today was my 3rd time to this nail salon and I will not be back. The 1st 2 times the experience was ok. I have been trying to find a salon in the area since moving and have not had much luck. The only guy here achieved a shape I was happy with and after having tried several places decided that was going to have to be good enough. I get gel nails. I have been getting gel nails for about 12 years. Have never gone without them in the years because my natural nails grow out with a curl to them and I have never been able to have my nails long naturally. So I called today to make an appointment even though it has only been a week and a half since my fill I broke 1 and my no chip was not holding up. I spend a lot of money keeping my nails looking nice and they should be quality and last. So even though I was not happy with them from the last visit I was not loving the color I had picked anyway and was not all that worried about having to get them done again so soon. I called and made an appointment. When you make an appointment they ask your name and a phone number. I arrived right on time knowing that 1 other time when I showed up early I was still not seen until right at my appointment. When I walked in I was immediately asked why I was there by the woman who I believe is the owner and told her I had an appointment. She didn't say anything else to me. All the nail techs had a client so I took a seat, and I waited. And I waited. Half an hour. No one said anything to me. Another customer walked in and the owner woman asked her if she had an appointment, that customer told her no and sat down. Within 2 minutes a nail tech came and took her. Well what the heck! So I'm looking around like what is going on, I have an appointment. I have been waiting. A customer who was paying noticed me and said something about having been there 3 hours. Well that is not ok with me. I need a fill and a repair on 1 nail. I made an appointment. This should not take hours. I have other things to do in my schedule. The owner or manager woman noticed I was upset and told me to take a seat. An older woman who didn't not seem to speak English room her time about starting my nails. I told her which color I wanted and showed her my 1 that needed repair. She said nothing. It took her about 25 minutes to only remove my old polish. Meanwhile the customer who had walked in after me was in the seat next to me talking to the nail tech like they were old friends. So I wasn't seen 1st because I wasn't her friend wen thought I was the customer with an appointment. Not ok. At 6:05 pm after 30 minutes of getting old gel polish removed which still is on my nails some and having this nail tech constantly hitting my skin with the dremmel file over and over on pretty much every finger like she had never used the tool before I realize she isn't doing my nails. I'm then told by the tech who took her friend that some other tech is who I'm waiting on and she still has a customer. At this point I had to leave. The experience was absolutely horrible. The amount of time I spent there by that point I should have been finishing up and I had somewhere else to be. I would not have made an appointment on the mans day off this I was told about if it would have worked with my schedule to be there any other day this week. I am a busy person as I am sure all their customers are. Our time is valuable. And they wasted my time and did a horrible job during the time that was spent with me. From the 2 times my nails were done here the quality was poor and the work did not last. If you make an appointment you should be seen. If they take your number in case of an issue and realize they have a lot of walk ins that will effect their appointment schedules they should call those customers otherwise why are they taking people les phone numbers. I do not recommend this nail salon. I will not go back and unfortunately now my nails are going to look horrible for days. So every time someone asks why they will hear my experience. Also they do not offer any other service but nails, most nail places offer waxing or something. Their pedi menu has a $25 basic pedi that does not include filing off dead skin or using the file. They do a really nice job at Allure. I'm visiting from out of town and rarely pamper myself but decided to since I'm on vacation. I called while still at home 3 days prior to get an appointment for 5 people today. I realize getting 5 people in at one time can be difficult so I wanted to make sure I gave them plenty of time ahead to plan accordingly. We had three pedicures and three manicures. 4/5 people were seated immediately however I ended up sitting and waiting for 45 minutes until someone was able to start my manicure which resulted in us all ending at different times forcing us to wait. After waiting for 45 minutes a woman takes me to her station, and disappears for 15 minutes. I went to the back to use the restroom and I see the woman who is supposed to do my nails in the back eating and watching a video on her phone... I thought that was weird and came back out to take a seat. I waited a few more minutes and she comes out with FOOD IN HER MOUTH and starts taking my polish off. I feel like eating while at work is super unprofessional. I understand everyone needs a break but if I went out of my way to call ahead and request an appointment only to wait for an hour I would have just had us all go somewhere and do a walk in appointment. Also during my appointment she didn't talk at all, didn't even say hello, same with my friends technician who was a guy. They were both rough with our cuticles causing them to sting when they put the alcohol on them. The customer service and organization is lacking which is a shame because I liked the way they look but expect to be treated better at a place I'm spending good money at. My first visit was 3 1/2 weeks ago and I had a no chip manicure. My second visit was today and honestly I probably could have gone another week! I had one nail that peeled well after the 2 week mark and I ended up picking at it which made me break the nail. (Silly me!!!!) I like the salon and have come to prefer it over my old favorite nail salon. I almost feel kind of bad!! :) The nail salon is clean. Not only are the tools sterilized and clean, they use a new nail file and buffer for each client, not just one that sits in the drawer and is used on everyone. The environment is clean, free of dust and come to think of it, I do not remember smelling any chemicals while there! This must be why the nail technicians were not wearing masks. It is evident that the salon was well thought out. From the seating, the drying station, and even the lighting. The polishes are well organized making it very easy for you to find a color to your liking. The nail technicians speak with you and among themselves speaking English. They speak very little between each other in Vietnamese. I understand this may a lot of times be their first language, and I'm not offended by them speaking among themselves utilizing their language, but it is important to me that I feel I can speak with them and they full understand what I'm requesting or talking about. I've had unfortunate experiences in other salons where they do not understand what I'm trying to say, and that makes for frustration when trying to express your needs. I give the salon only 4 stars for one reason. They do not do waxing due to the fact that they are next door to a hair salon that does waxing. (Likely a business agreement between the two). But that's ok, I can see my old "friends" at my "old" salon and say hello every few weeks :) read more

Had my first experience with Allure tonight and I am impressed. I had been going to Bravia for a couple of years. Before tonight I would have given them 4 stars but tonight they were busy, rude and turned me away. I heard about Allure and decided to try them instead. Great experience. I got there at 7:04PM and I was greeted by a nice person up front and seated for my pedi this included preparing the water for me to soak. After 15 minutes my pedicurist introduced himself and began. He showed me a menu and I selected the Royal pedicure (it was the same as the Bravia Honey Princess my usual choice there). The leg and foot exfoliation massage was awesome. It was followed by a gentle rinse with the water sprayer and another leg and foot massage using lotion. Both massages were more like what one would get from a massage therapist than my usual experience at the other place. This was followed with a paraffin wax, then a pedicure with my favorite color polish that I brought. My pedicurist had to leave so another woman did my manicure. She did a great job my cuticles were in bad shape. I got a lotion massage and she did a great job with the polish it looks great and the top coat dried with a nice shine. I sat in the drying station for 10 minutes and I got completely dry. I had no problem with dings when I buckled my seat belt and drove home. This was a great experience and I have to thank Bravia for turning me away. Without that I would never have found Allure. I will definitely go back and update this review. read more

Nice clean salon, chairs were comfortable. Tech did a decent job on the pedi. My Complaint is that she thinned out the nail polish right in front of me. The nail polish went on dull, but looked better once she put on top coat. It all has chipped off in less than a week now, so I need to get it redone. Also was very insulted when I paid for service and was told I could ONLY tip by cash or check? I had neither on me and was put in a bad position. Why should I have to run around to find an ATM for cash? This is very poor business practice IMO! If you take credit cards you need to accept tip on card too. Build it into price, it is part of being a reputable business. Would never go back. read more

Mixed review... First the pros: the salon is beautiful, comfortable & clean. The ladies were all very nice & welcoming. There were other clients there that seemed like regulars that were very loyal & happy with the services. However, I'm not thrilled with my no-chip manicure. I've had many if these - all around the country at different places & unfortunately, the quality of this one ranked as one of the worst. It might have been the color I chose as Lily (who did my manicure) noticed right away that it wasn't going on correctly... Even after 2 coats you could still see my nails underneath. She grabbed another brand of no chip polish in a similar color and it worked better. Even still, the color is not even, the shape that she cut/filed is also not even & my some of my cuticles are painted. With all this said, my experience may be a one-off and it's evident that others have had a better experience there. I may go back, but only after trying a few other places close by as a comparison. The no-chip was $35 and you need to bring cash for the tip (you can pay for service on debit/credit cards.) read more
