My technician "Kat"was about 15 minutes late for my fill and pedicure appointment. Once she started, the work felt rushed. Every nail ended up a different length, and although I requested square nails, some corners were square while others were rounded. The acrylic fill was uneven, especially around the cuticles, and several nails looked lopsided. To save time, I was placed in the pedicure chair to soak while my technician finished my nails because she already had another client waiting. That made me feel like I was being rushed through my appointment instead of receiving the service I paid for. Before I left, I told my technician I wasn't happy that the nails were different lengths and shapes. She did offer to have me come back to redo them, but I was flying out of the country the following day, so that wasn't an option. Initially, I considered returning later to give them another chance, but after thinking it over, I decided I'd rather find a salon that takes more pride in its work. I paid $130 for my services. The photos I'm posting were taken about two weeks later, so there is some growth, but you can still clearly see the inconsistent shapes and the uneven fill around the cuticles. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect consistency, attention to detail, and workmanship that reflects the price being charged. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Purity Nail Garden caught my eye immediately with one of the highest ratings within my search (dozens of glowing reviews.) I then went directly to their website and Instagram page to get a better overview. I tried to book online but my request was a bit complicated and I was hoping for an appointment within a day or two. Within a few hours the owners husband called. He helped navigate scheduling for the services to ensure all services were timely and smooth. I was impressed with the call, and we had an enjoyable chat about naturopathy. Forward to today. Okay....what a darling hidden gem! I had no idea they even existed, despite passing by it numerous times per week. Upon walking in, patrons are greeted with ample natural light, a plethora of greenery and a space that in my opinion, oozes relaxation! When I mentioned I had booked with someone else, I was shown the technician I requested, who was doing another customer's pedicure. I had a deeply upsetting experience at this salon with a technician named Lee. From the moment I sat down, he was extremely rude, snapping his fingers at me to give directions instead of speaking. The situation escalated when he heard me speaking my native language on the phone. He made derogatory remarks about it and showed clear hostility. When I calmly addressed his behavior and asked for professional treatment, Lee became aggressive, started shouting, and ultimately refused to finish my manicure. He left my nails completely unfinished and without polish. It is unacceptable for a business to treat customers this way or to mock someone's language. I felt discriminated against and unsafe due to his hostility. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place, especially if you expect to be treated with basic human decency.
