This place is the best. They are run and staffed by the sweetest people on the planet. To be honest, there meat kolaches run about 4 dollars each which can be hard price to swallow if you are somebody on a budget. However, it seems to me there sweeter ones are cheaper. The business is always clean and is a child-friendly space. I've never walked in there and thought it was dirty or unwelcoming. If they can make your day, they will and that's what sets them apart. Very solid Kolache place on 1488. Very small frontage, next to anytime fitness, easy to miss. locally owned. They've added some homey touches to an otherwise industrial Warehouse like space. There's a small kids play area, and coffee is made by the pot in an old school cofee maker. Maybe a dozen seats. Kolaches fresh baked in store. Three classes of peoduct: Sweet (think donut) for 2.50, savory like sausage and cheese 3.00. And BBQ, like pulled pork for 5.00. These barbecue ones are substantially larger and much more of a sandwich than a typical kolache, which somewhat justifies the price. I came in, she asked what I wanted, I placed my order and that was it. I had their brisket and cheese kolache. It was dry- really dry. I noticed they lacked a lot of chicken, beef and veggie options. The actual restaurant is very small with some seating and a toy kitchen available for kids to play while mom may be having coffee and breakfast with a friend. I chose the pulled pork kolache. The pulled pork was sourced from Bar A barbecue out of Montgomery. The kolache was substantial like a pulled pork sandwich. Excellent flavor ! Very moist ! Absolutely delicious! I wasn't a kolache fan before, but now I am always daydreaming about them! AllyAnne's has the best kolaches with both savory and sweet options. Both are very filling, unique, and tasty. I tried the s'more's (limited time), maple pecan, blueberry streusel, brisket and cheese, and sausage and gravy. All were outstanding, and I would order them all again. The maple pecan was the winner for me, but I am excited to try their other options in the future! 1st time visitor. I was excited to give them a try after hearing of their delicious savory flavors offered. I decided on the smoked turkey and peppers jack cheese kolache and a cinnamon cream kolache (not pictured). Ooooh the savory smoked turkey with just the right amount of that pepper jack cheese was heavenly. I feel like the meat filling to bread/kolache ratio was just right. Why 5 stars? Because these might be the best kolaches I've ever had. --- --- --- Good lord these things are amazing. The savory ones, the sweet ones - they are all A++++. In Houston, there is no shortage of places to get kolaches. And to be honest, most kolaches are just about the same. But after experiencing AllyAnne's kolaches twice in the past few days, I now feel like every other kolache I try will feel like a let down. They get their brisket and pulled pork from Bar-A-BBQ, which is one of my favorite BBQ spots in the area. Sadly, the brisket was sold out during my first two visits, but that just motivated me to be an earlier worm and come back the next day. Both the brisket and the pulled pork? With the BBQ sauce? HOLD ME. And then there's the standard sausage and cheese. Why is their sausage so much better than other places? And why is the bread so much better? And, for an original question, why is the cheese so much better? MAMA MIA. Even the bacon egg and cheese? WTF. It's so cheesy and delicious, even on a 2nd re-heat. How is that even possible? The sweet ones? GTFO. They are all stupid good. The strawberries and cream, the maple, the blueberry streusel, the peach and the cinnamon roll situation. I could eat 30 of these. Speaking of over-eating: I have a problem with it. And with over-eating, comes the consequence of post-game pain. What's possibly most amazing about AllyAnne's kolaches is that there is no pain later. These things are of such high quality that God doesn't even punish you for eating four or five of those things in quick succession. I will not only come back here often, but I will absolutely be getting these for gatherings to impress friends and family. They're open! Czech them out! I tried the strawberry kolache first and it was perfection. Soft tender bread with just the right balance of sweetness. The filling was not too sweet, perfectly smooth. Very good! I also had a brisket and cheese. The brisket is from Bar-A bbq, which all locals know and love. It was stuffed to the edges with tasty brisket and cheese. Stopped by this family-owned kolache kitchen on the way home from picking up our dog from boarding. We got a variety of kolaches (sausage and cheese, sausage/jalapeño/cheese, and Brisket jalapeño and cheese. We also got a maple and cream cheese for a sweet treat, too. Great spice on the jalapeño! We enjoy eating the kolaches & cheese danishes. I lean toward the sweet pastries versus my other half who goes for the savory. The kolaches offered are different from your standard sausage, cheese, ham style. Many variations of kolache offerings (wagyu beef, brisket, spinach and feta cheese comes to mind!) with LOTS of filling in them. 1:1 ratio of protein to dough is A++! The raspberry jam in the danish is oh so DELICIOUS. Like FINGER LICKING good! I cry a little each time I go there and the tray is empty. Met the Owners and they are both as KIND as they can be. These are made from scratch kolaches with the highest ingredients I've ever seen in a kolache shop. If you're a foodie, your going to love these kolaches. I've been here probably 15 times now and they are phenomenal every time. Highly recommend the brisket, which is sourced locally from Bar-A BBQ in Montgomery. The other one that is shockingly good is the ham and cheese. They also rotate seasonal kolaches from time to time and they are out of this world. In October I had a S'more kolache (you heard me, a S'more kolache) and just today (in November) they let me sample an upcoming turkey and stuffing, and a pecan pie. The level of thought and care going into these is unreal. The turkey and stuffing had smoked turkey in it with homemade stuffing and CRANBERRY SAUCE! The pecan pie was probably the best kolache and best pecan pie I've ever had in my life, and I mean that. In short, this place is a must try. I know it's a bold claim, but I think it may be the best kolache shop in the greater Houston area, and without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the greater Spring/Magnolia area. The savory kolaches were pretty good and the dough is better and less sweet than the Factory, which is a plus. But let's be clear, these are not the Czech style kolaches that you get in West, which is my benchmark for kolaches. This same dough is too dense for the fruit kolache however - I would triple the amount of fruit and work on a different, puffier dough for these.
