    Goat cheese Quiche
    Sofia J.

Response to owner: David, I'm genuinely surprised by your response. I went out of my way in my review to compliment your staff, who were kind, attentive, and did their best to help us. My criticism was specifically about the food we were served. I certainly don't need to be "educated" about whether I enjoyed a meal. I described exactly what I experienced: my quiche was heavily browned on the outside, cold in the center, and had a dry, spongy texture. My son's pancakes were doughy and wet inside. Those were our experiences that morning. Regarding the sauce, I said it tasted like curry to me. If it contained no curry, I'm perfectly happy to correct that. I would actually be curious to know what the sauce was. What I will not accept, however, is the suggestion that I deliberately altered photographs to make your food look bad. I did not. The photos were taken at our table during the meal and show the food we were served. I actually ended my review saying that perhaps we would return and give Madame Brioche another chance. Your staff left me with a very positive impression despite our disappointing meal. Unfortunately, your response to a customer giving an honest account of her experience has left a very different impression. Original Review: The people who work here are genuinely lovely. Everyone was attentive, efficient, kind, and friendly. Unfortunately, the food is a different story. I ordered the goat cheese quiche with sweet potatoes on the side. Big mistake. Not necessarily the sweet potatoes themselves, but because I clearly did not understand just how desperately I was going to need something wet on that plate. The quiche arrived looking VERY dark and toasted on top. I took my first bite and somehow discovered the impossible: cold on the inside, almost burnt on the outside. I'm honestly not sure how one achieves both at the same time, but here we are. The texture inside was extremely dry and oddly spongy, almost as if the eggs had been mixed with flour. Had I known what was coming, I would have chosen soup as my side. Or gravy. Or perhaps just a glass of water poured directly over the quiche. I asked our very sweet server if they had some sort of cream, sauce, or anything that could help. He kindly brought me a yellowish sour-cream-looking sauce. Wonderful! Moisture! Then I tasted it. Curry. I was not prepared for this plot twist. At this point, my meal and I had simply lost our connection. I do have to give the servers credit because they were incredibly nice and genuinely tried to accommodate me, but there is only so much anyone can do when a quiche has chosen this path in life. Meanwhile, my son ordered possibly the safest restaurant meal known to mankind: pancakes. Unfortunately, even the pancakes struggled. They seemed undercooked, doughy and wet inside, and came completely alone on a large plate. We ordered scrambled eggs separately, so eventually he had one plate with two lonely pancakes and another little plate with two equally lonely scrambled eggs. I never realized how much presentation mattered until I saw those four lonely breakfast items living on separate plates. The pastries didn't tempt us either. The croissants and pains au chocolat on the shelves looked dry rather than fresh and flaky, and the refrigerated pies looked like they had been waiting patiently for someone to take them home for a while. By the end of the meal, my overwhelming feeling was... thirst. Everything just seemed so dry. It's unfortunate because the staff really was wonderful, and the restaurant itself has so much potential. But the food simply did not match the warmth and quality of the service. Sadly, Madame Brioche will not be seeing us again for a while. Perhaps someday we'll return and give it another chance, but next time, I'm ordering something with sauce. Lots of sauce.

I've been to Madame Bridge five or six times trying different items and everything's been delicious. Definitely try their homemade French pastries as they are next best thing to being in Paris. They use French butter in all their pastries that's the big difference in most of the French-American bakeries... The owners are from France and are there seven days a week providing great service and a delicious French breakfast with an inviting atmosphere until 2:00 weekdays and 3:00 on the weekends...

There doesn't seem to be a reservation system, at least not from what I could tell. We came on a Sunday around noon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Even though they were packed, the wait was only about five minutes. They offer patio seating, but we chose to sit inside. There's also a display case with pastries available for takeaway, which looked tempting -- but we were in the mood for something more substantial. We ordered the salmon Eggs Benedict and the goat cheese avocado toast. The Eggs Benedict disappeared in under five minutes thanks to my kid -- I didn't even get a bite! But based on how fast it vanished and the enthusiastic review I received from the kiddo, it was clearly delicious. The avocado toast was good as well. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely solid. I was hoping for more of a kick from the chili flakes and spicy honey, but I mainly tasted sweetness without much heat. If the honey isn't bringing that spice as the menu describes, I'd probably skip it next time. The decor inside is cute and cozy, and it has the warm, French welcoming feel of a family-owned business.

I would have not known this eatery area existed without an invite and getting past the horrendous construction off 45. Quaint little French bistro adorned in blue and white colors and offering some excellent breakfast options. I opted for the French Way Egg-ceptional just from the offering of 2 soft boiled egg. You got a choice of protein (salmon), avocado, and toasted brioche sticks on the side with one additional side of choice (roasted potatoes). The soft boiled eggs were done perfectly and slid out flawlessly with from their protective shell. The avocado and salmon were delicious and fresh. Add in the carbs (brioche and potatoes) and one full belly commenced. I definitely want to give them another go for their baked offerings. They have weekly specials with Monday being B2G1 on pastries!

The first time I had breakfast here, I ordered the French toast and a Nutella latte. I fell in love! The brioche is airy, buttery and just melts in your mouth. The latte was amazing. The welcome hospitality and amazing food have me and my family voting this our favorite breakfast spot. When we found out they created a dinner menu we planned our first meal. The meal began with a dinner roll and we were transported to France. It was so yummy and still warm. We then tried the lamb shank, (a generous portion, so tender and flavorful) the ribeye steak with bone marrow and scalloped potatoes ( perfect potatoes, nice sized, tender steak) and the salmon fillet. Also had several desserts, all amazing but the almond cream crepe is unique and memorable. The best crepe I have ever had. I have tried many things on their menu and all of their pastries. Never disappointed. David and Susan are always welcoming you in with a smile. It is obvious the pride and love they pour into all of their dishes. This bistro is a hidden gem!!!

We loved Madame Brioche so much the first time, asked my family to join for Sunday brunch on our last day visiting. I first had a bacon omelette and hash browns with gluten free bread. I asked for some cheese on my hash browns but the waitress said she didn't think they did that.... While she was super pleasant and friendly I feel like this isn't that weird of a request and maybe at least could have asked? Hashbrowns a little plain without it; however, The GF bread was DELIGHTFUL!!! The BEST tasting bread I've had. The owner came out and talked to me about it that was so nice of her!! My second breakfast I ordered the GF pancakes with chocolate chips hoping I'd be wowed again. Unfortunately they forgot the chocolate chips and I had to send them back. They were good pancakes but nothing exciting. My whole family enjoyed our meals for the most part, but my dad's potatoes were cold. Probably due to plating before the entree. I have no doubt had he said something at the time they would have made it right. Overall it's a newish restaurant that I would definitely recommend and I will return when back in Texas. Great friendly owners and beautiful open space with that French bistro flare.

What a great Thursday morning. Nice date with the wife and her hot dress! We've both been looking forward to our first visit at Madame Brioche Bistro for breakfast. Upon entering MBB you can tell this place is going to be tasty. Walked past the bakery display on my way to a table and all the sweets looked lovely. I'll take them all please! The breakfast and lunch menu looked really good. I'll have to return for the chicken cordon bleu, definitely one of my favorite meals but today I ordered up a western omelette that came with amazing bread and one side, mac n cheese please! Our server Eloise was very helpful and timely. The wife, who is gluten free, had the avocado omelette, and a gluten free bun which was very tasty. Upon leaving I ordered to-go one brioche cinnamon roll. On an end note! The omelettes were extremely tasty. I'm betting the eggs were strained but I'm not sure. They had a very clean and fresh taste. Very impressed with MBB so much so that we booked a reservation for 12 people this Sunday! See you there Yelpstars.

I love this place. When my son gets his haircut I try to schedule to come get a cinnamon roll or a pastry as they are the best! Then we had an early appointment so finally came in and sat for breakfast. Best decision! There was not a long wait, the owner/manager (unsure) is so friendly and welcoming to everyone. He had so many regulars. The staff is very nice as well. I loved everything we ordered. My son ordered mac and cheese as his side. I thought that was weird until I tasted it. Best mac and cheese. Ok we have to talk about to the coffee! I got the cafe au lait but gosh the regular coffee is amazing and I will just get that next time. Hard to find good house coffee in a restaurant. The theme is cute make you feel like you in a French bistro. I only have one complaint. The chairs. Ouch I had shorts on and it felt like I was sitting in a plastic lawn chair and digs and leaves marks on your skin. I have to sit on my jacket to be comfortable. Still love the place and can't wait to go back. Coffee and cinnamon roll please!

I'm not a breakfast/brunch person, but I am half French! Rarely do I give 5 stars, but my wife had been wanting to take me for a long time and Madame Brioche will not disappoint! Service was outstanding and the owner was present and attentive. It feels like a French bistro, but needs a location that suitable for outdoor seating and people watching to be the perfect European "bistro." French Toast was light, fluffy and tasty, but not overly sweet. Eggs over easy were perfectly done. Having studied the menu, I told my wife I want to come back for brunch/lunch and order the Moule Frites and Croque Madame two classic French bistro item as the ultimate food evaluation for me!

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

We entered to a friendly staff who sat us immediately. The vibe is very modern with some Mexican influence. We were with another couple and I think they were under the impression that this would be Tex-Mex, but it is not. For drinks I got a Mezcalina, my wife got a normal margarita normally I don't love Mezcal, but was feeling adventurous and this drink did not disappoint, it exploded with flavor and was my favorite drink I have had here. The bar program might be the best of any restaurant in the area, as it should be since they have a speakeasy as well. In my previous trip they brought us complimentary chips and salsa, but the time they brought Mexican hummus and pita. I was initially disappointed, but this was one of the more unique complimentary dishes I have had, and loved it. For starters, we got the TOSTADA CHUTORO, which was a tostada with raw fish and caviar. There were two, and although smaller bites to share, the flavor once again really shined through. I would say this is similar to a ceviche dish with really fresh fish and bright flavors.

Beautiful, chic venue, tucked away in a corner of the shopping strip. I joined a friend for a…read morelunch date on a Thursday. It was rather empty, with perhaps 2 other tables being served. Food was good, but I'm not sure if I could consider anything spectacular enough to justify some of the prices. I decided on the Aguachile Wagyu, which was perfectly cooked and paired with charred herbs. Very enjoyable for a small high-protein meal. My friend ordered Tacos de Filete, which she said were, "okay." We also had a few drinks... They were heavy pours. My only complaint is that the tajin-salt rims were more for decoration (smeared across the side of the glass and not very hygienic) rather than for the palette. Worth mentioning: We were never offered any chips or salsa, although I've read reviews where other patrons enjoyed some before their meal. Our server was friendly, but a bit disconnected.... Maybe that was the biggest problem - - the experience was diminished due to lackluster service.

Authentic Italian dishes is flavorful from the table soft focaccia with olive oil. Our group ordered the top three recommended dishes by our waiter Brice. I ordered the jumbo shrimp linguine dish. It was a fun surprise to know the waiter lived in the same area as our friend, simply through a conversation about the restaurant's shrimp! This dish is incredibly generous with their shrimp portions. The ambience is relaxing with a semi - casual yet elegant atmosphere, making it a great spot for every occasion. We came for a Sunday brunch menu. Though, there is not a kid menu, you can ask for kid's portion, I'll be happy to return and explore more of their menu!
