This is THE breakfast spot!! I've never been to a breakfast place and seen so many things I was eager to try!! We had a reservation and were a group of 7. Our table was ready and we were seated and served promptly. The menu is large and has so many options. I ordered the sunshine which was 2 eggs, a choice of meat, and a crepe with fruit and cream. All breakfasts came with potatoes (allo mon coco style or home fries) and toast. All the meat options are pork. Everything was delicious. I was impressed with the fruit. Everything was fresh and sweet. The crepe was slightly thicker than I was expecting but was very delicious. The eggs were a little lack-lustre for me. I'm excited to return and try more!!

This place was reasonably priced, easy to access, and last but not least YUMMY! Everyone in our party was completely satisfied with their breakfast selections, so much so we went back a second day. All of the staff we engaged with were super friendly, and didn't have an issue with any modifications we needed for the order. The establishment was clean and open, which allowed us to have a low stress start of the day meal. This is a cash only establishment, so you have to get cash or use their in-house ATM. It wasn't super busy inside, which I found strange because this was a delicious diner that I would keep on my go to list of breakfast spots. This place checked all of the boxes! I hope your experience is as good as ours was when you drop in to give it a shot!

The standard potatoes are a bit soft and unconventional, but otherwise the food is delicious.

This is a chain of breakfast/brunch restaurants throughout Montreal, and we happened to dine at the one which was closest to the hotel at which we were staying. We had a wait of about 10 minutes at the door (unlike the US, it's simply wait in line for the next table, none of that dropping your name and party size at the hostess table stuff). After looking at the menu, it was obvious why there's typically a wait, the offerings are so extensive. The things that stood out for me were their Benedict's and their crepes, both of which featured prominently in our orders. The crepes are listed as "generous," and I agree, as my banana crepe contained a whole sliced banana, as well as a lot of chocolate sauce on top. Everyone was working really hard to keep up with things, as we learned someone in the kitchen quit that morning... apart from our meals coming out a few minutes apart and having to ask for coffee refills twice, it was otherwise seamless, and the staff managed to keep a happy demeanor with everyone. The portions are generally large for both breakfast and lunch. If this is a place where everyone in your group wants something different, you should dine here.

The food service here is fast! AND the staff is friendly. I really enjoyed brunch. I had Bubbly Lavender Mimosas. A must! I paired it with a wild berry crepe filled with English creme. Simple yet yummy.

This was the first place my friend and I stopped by to eat at upon landing in Montreal. Let me tell you--the combo option that we got was so worth the money! It came with a grilled chicken panini type sandwich, fries, lentil soup, AND dessert for under $15 CAN. You can't beat that!

Came by around 2pm on a Sunday and the place was a little busy. The portions are absolutely huge here. My partner and I couldn't finish either of our meals and had to take home the rest! Everything tasted great though and the atmosphere was really bright and open. Only thing that causes this -1 star is the service. The waitress in charge of our table only came to take our order, but she disappeared for the rest of the time. We had to flag down other employees to service us (get a takeout box, get a bag for the takeout box, get the bill). I think they might be strict on dividing up tables amongst the team, because when we asked another waiter for the bill, they specifically asked us who our waiter was. Great experience aside from the service!

This is a chain in Quebec, but a good one! This location is in the old city and is very spacious. You're bound to find seating any time you go. The service is friendly and quick. The menu is huge with a wide range of items from a kids menu to eggs to crepes. I ordered fruit for my toddler and it was quality produce. My eggs benedict was delicious and the Nutella crepe HUGE. I recommend this spot especially if you have children.

The portion sizes are generous, good luck finishing your plate! The food was extremely delicious, specifically their famous potatoes. They're seasoned to perfection! The service is quite slow, and we waited a long time to get our food. Otherwise, I would definitely stop by for breakfast!

We went on a Sunday at around 1pm, so the wait was quite long to get a seat since there was a line-up. We were told by the servers that service might be slower than usual, which I think is nice to inform. In the end, for a busy hour, we got our meal in a decent amount of time. We first got the Oreo Milkshake (8$). It was good, but a bit simple for the price. Then we got the classic Egg Benedict (17.50$), which comes with 2 poached eggs on a ham and English muffin, mashed potatoes & a bol of fruits. The portion size is really good and the fruits seemed quite fresh. I would loved to have the option of having cubed potatoes, but the option was not provided in this location. Overall, I recommend if you want a good brunch location!

We came in Christmas morning the staff let us know that there were only 2 waitresses and the service would be slow which we were ok with. The food was fresh and delicious the potatoes were so good seasoned perfectly and sooo crispy. The gourmet banana crepe was huge and delicious I added strawberries (4 dollars extra) which is a-lot but made the crepe so much better. The americano was tasteless very watered down but the regular coffee was good. My husband had the avacado Benedict which he said was great I would definitely recommend. It's a little pricey but the positions are great.

I love this place! This is my second time here at separate locations. Their potatoes are the best! I've enjoyed their omelettes and Benedict's as well. The fresh fruit cup is so well presented and generous. The ambiance is cute, bright and open. The service is good. If you're looking for a good breakfast, this is the place! J'adore cet endroit!

The food was pretty good. The service was subpar. They allowed people to cut in front of us after we patiently waited in line. They sat us at a broken table. Portion sizes are big. The French vanilla latte was delicious. Workers not very attentive.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too.
