I was glad I picked Almara for my last dinner in Mexico City. Something tells me I'll be back and Almara will be on my list again. I had a mango margarita, cream corn soup, and ribeye steak. Everything tasted amazing and they have great service.

We had such a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was lovely. Alan and his team are true professionals. Every recommendation was absolutely delicious. This truly exceeded our expectations. Every restaurant experience should be like the wine we had at Almara. We cannot wait to return.

Lets start by saying that the service here is simply impeccable. It's old world service, something very hard to find in the States for the price you pay for a meal here. As I sat down, a napkin was quickly placed on my lap, while extra virgin olive oil and a choice of breads was placed on the table. I informed my waiter that all the appetizers looked so good. The chef must of over heard me and whisked out some of the salmon Tar Tar for me to have a bite of. Omg it was so delicious that I ordered it along with the French onion soup. To my disappointment the salmon Tar Tar was just a gift from the chef and could not be ordered. I reluctantly settled on the tuna Tar Tar instead. It's the first time i was offered something I couldn't buy but was thankful I had an opportunity to try the little bite. The soup is like heaven. It has so much gooey cheese that pairs well with the onion broth and croutons, I feel as if I drifted away to another place of times bygone. The music playing in the background is jazz and standards which is perfect for the venue and a compliment to the menu offerings. The only thing I'm missing is the Rat Pack to come out and entertain me as I dine. The tuna Tar Tar was good. It was slightly salty. Not sure where the saltiness came from. I was a bit taken back at first because it was on top of a bed of quinoa, which was a first for me. I like pairing Tar Tar with the crunchiness of a crouton or cracker as it balances out well. I asked for something crunchy and they brought some chips. Personally I could do without the added saltiness and a little chopped chili, like a Serrano pepper would have made the the tuna Tar Tar a 5 star dish for me.

Elegant restaurant in Condesa with very good food and cocktails. They do try to steer you towards top shelf tequilas and mezcal when you first sit down. But peruse the cocktail menu and make your choices. Do order the tuna tartare and/or the seafood cocktail appetizers-- both excellent and beautifully presented. Regarding entrees, the sea bass was delicious, as well as the scallop risotto. The pastas are a little less successful being slightly over cooked instead of al dente. Coffee and desserts are good.

This place bills itself as a Moroccan-Mexican fusion restaurant. My margarita was delicious with Don Julio tequila in an up-glass. The ceviche on a bed of guacamole with exotic fruits was on point, served with homemade tortilla chips. And the ribeye was succulent and cooked to perfection. It melts in your mouth. Very flavorful! It's served with three large-cut french fries and some guacamole that will make you wish you lived in Mexico. Finally, the creme brûlée is creamy, caramelized heaven with fresh fruit on top!

Almara is one of the best restaurants in Mexico City. They have incredible cuisine, and authentic dishes. I recommend getting the corn soup - it is amazing. Also, if you are visiting in the month of September, they make an outstanding Chile en Nogada. I recommend this restaurant for a date night or if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience when visiting the city.

They were actually open today New Years Day, and there were at least 40 people seated outside waiting for their name to be called. This is quite the famous restaurant here in Mexico City. By the time it was our turn everyone was starving. The most awesome thing about this restaurant is the fast service. The servers literally sprint back and forth from the tables to the kitchen, and plus it's a team effort. I ordered the Chilaquiles de pollo, and my boyfriend ordered Enchiladas de pollo. All six of us enjoyed their world famous pozole with chicken, which I must admit, tasted quite good. This restaurant has their service down to a science, and they should patent it!

This was an opportune rest and sustenance stop made in the Centro area for some flautas (tacos…read moredorados/ rolled tacos) and pozole. It's a chain and located in a small mall area off a pedestrian shopping walkway/ mall. Take the escalators all the way to the top. Since you dine in, you have "free" access to their very clean bathrooms, making it another great lunch stop. We ordered 3 Flautas with cheese for 95 MXN and a small bowl of pozole for 92 MXN. The flautas were super huge, meaty, and ultra crunchy. The sheet of quesillo on top was a nice added delight. The pozole came with a side of tostados and a whole lime with a squeezer. The lime is absolutely required and adds to the layers of simple richness to the pozole topped with crunchy cabbage bits, radishes, and onions. The waiter definitely pressured us into get chips and guacamole, but the unexpected add-on was very reasonably priced and refreshing. Service was super quick and prompt. Plenty of seating is to be had here making for an even more convenient stop.

Another thing this city has is very inexpensive spots you can eat, like pop ups or stands that serve such high quality food at very cheap prices. The third thing I found about this city is where this restaurant fits in-They have restaurants that are historic, that opened over 100 years ago-Cafe de Tacuba fits in that category, having opened in 1912. This restaurant is located in Centro Historico-just a few blocks from Zocalo. Its location is a very busy touristy part of Mexico City. When we arrived there was a 30 minute wait, but once we walked in it was obvious why as it was truly a work of art in there. The walls were adorned with amazing paintings and murals and interior designs elements that transported you back to Mexico in the 1950s and earlier. It was gorgeous. I don't want to call it a fancy place with all the stigma that sometimes represents but it was a fancy place without all the stuffiness of a fancy place. It was a very warm and welcoming place to dine at. There was a lady walking around with a platter full of conchas and churros that one could indulge in while waiting their main meal. I had to get a churro-it was so delicious. We also got chicken tortilla soup-it was so rich and tasty with the perfect blend of Mexican seasonings. I had a pretty good cafe con leche as well-you could really taste the high quality coffee beans they use in their coffees compared to what I'd been getting all trip in the streets. Now when you visit this restaurant and you could only try one dish-that dish begins and ends with Enchiladas Tacuba(355 pesos/$20.35) That's what I got and it was awesome. Its basically a chicken enchilada dish with a creamy spinach based sauce topped with cheese-flavor bomb to the fullest. 9.5/10 Item I wouldn't clarify this as an inexpensive meal compared to other places we visited in Mexico City, but I would call this place an incredible dining experience where one can just feel the importance of the building one is having this meal. Heck Diego Rivera had his wedding reception here in 1922. I for sure would recommend anyone who has the pleasure of visiting Mexico City, must add Cafe de Tacuba to their itinerary-it's such a rich experience.

Well not this time, first off, we werent allowed to reserve on the main dining area which is on the first floor cause our party had 5 people, so we were told to go to the second floor to make reservations. While we waited i decided to go to the bar and order a drink. It literally took like half an hour to get two drinks. While waiting for the drinks our name was called. They sat our party in this huge hall that looked liked a quinciañera hall. Our waitres had the worst attitude and took forver to take our order. We ordered some appetizers and my friends order some drinks. After like 45 min of waiting, the appetizers finally get to us but still no drinks. So we ended up finishing our appetizers and still no drinks. We finally decided that we were not going to order any food and were going to cancel our drink order. The waitress finally arrives with the drinks so we took them but asked for the check. Never again, horrible customer service, horrible drinks. My drink had absolutely no alcohol in it, it tasted like freaking juice. Horrible horrible experience. Skip the restaurant go for La Casa de los Azulejos take pics and leave.
