Chocolate Fondant cake with chocolate buttercream filling.
    Amanda C.

Louis came to the rescue with my request for a cigar cake (at the last minute) for my son's 21st birthday!! With a few pictures of what I had in mind, he made it exactly how I envisioned it. He was professional by recommending the size of cake for the number of people to serve. It was not only a beautiful cake, it tasted very delicious! It also stood the 3hr drive to Waco. Everyone complimented on the look and flavor. We will most definitely be coming back!!

Toilet paper/quarantine birthday cake for my hubby
    Phoebe A.

I ordered a 6" toilet paper roll cake for my husband's 40th quarantine birthday gathering and it went above and beyond my expectations! The toilet paper fondant even had this delicate, embossed texture/appearance that so closely resembled the real thing. It was so beautiful that I lamented that we'd have to cut into it--I mean, how dare we deface a work of art?! But get this: it wasn't just nice to look at.. it was delicious too. The verdict was unanimous. I called and placed the order on a Wednesday, and since I needed it by Saturday, I was kind of worried that it was too short of a notice.. but she fulfilled my order on time with ease. The entire transaction was so smooth. It was the best $50 that I've spent in a long time. Alma's Cakes = WIN

    Surprise celebration Birthday for co-Worker!!!
    Jarvas H.

Today i was amazed by the moistness, creativeness, and quality of the cake that I ordered for my co-worker's Birthday. We ordered a chocolate cake with the cream icing and a graphic design to be placed on top and my office gave great ooooo's and ahhhhh's as they took ever several bites. When ordering for future holidays, birthdays, and special occasions I will be revisiting. This is definitely the place I put my 5-star stamp on!!!

Thanks To Alma's Cakes for this beautiful and delicious graduation cake for my daughter who graduated from SHSU. she also baked a high school graduation cake for my daughter with her photo on top of the cake which looked exactly like the picture, the colors were perfect. I received so many compliments about this cake. Alma's Cakes Staff are professional, kind and friendly. Love it

    Strawberry cake

Mrs Alma is one of the sweetest business owner I have ever met! She is really easy to work with and very straightforward. I ordered a toilet-paper like strawberry cake, she delivered it with beautiful detail and overall look, my family was blown away by it. She put personalized message that i requested without issue. The price of the cake is really affordable and worthy, it was $50 for 6 inch beautifully done 5-layer strawberry cake with detailed fondant, it can be for 8-10 tall slices of cake. Taste was delicious for me and my family, though if you dont like it sweet, you can ask to reduce the sweetness level. I will definitely re-order the cake from Alma's cake! well done!

Love Alma's Cakes! I have used their bakery for my wedding, baby shower and several of our son's birthday parties and was never disappointed. Reasonable prices and very friendly people.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Alma's Cakes for yearsssss! We've ordered all kinds of cakes for every occasion you could think of.. (birthdays, baby showers, graduations, etc.) Our most recent experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. This go around, I decided to order a cupcake cake for my husband's and brother in law's 30th birthday. Alma made the number '30' out of 15 cupcakes, and I ordered an additional 6 cupcakes on the side. I was charged $3 per cupcake in the box, even though she sells the same exact cupcake (shape, size, and flavor) for $1.50. She justified this by saying she placed the cupcakes in the shape of a '30' and that requires special work. If you look at the picture I've included, you can see the work is nothing above what a kindergartener could do as far as placement. The cupcakes weren't iced together in a special fashion or anything that would justify charging double for each cupcake. In total, I was charged $55 for 21 cupcakes. Although it is good tasting cake, there is nothing premium about about the cupcakes..basic vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate cupcakes with a dollop of buttercream on the top. If you'd like a cupcake cake from Alma's Cakes, my advice is to buy the cupcakes by the dozen and arrange them yourself once you leave. I'm afraid you've lost a few loyal customers over this.

So pleased with the outcome of my birthday cake. 35 years ago my mom always had my birthday cakes made from a lady that is no longer with us, I brought in a pic of what I was looking for and alma was able to nail the design to a T. I did add fresh strawberry filling that I never got as a kid and it was well worth every penny. This bakery is super meticulous and organized, if you are looking for perfection this is your spot, you will not be disappointed. The two photos I will add is my cake 35 years ago and the one Alma did.

Alma's makes the best cakes! We have used them for countless celebrations and will continue to do so. Their cakes not only look great, they are also moist and delicious. Whenever we stop in, we are always greeted like we are family. They will work with you to try and keep you within your budget but also get you the creation you are looking for.

I loved my birthday cake, once again thank you for a delicious cake. I had a design in mine and you made it happen. Can't wait to order another cake from you!

    Alma's delicious carrot cake

Amazing! I was looking to find a local bakery to supply birthday cakes for our company. I see Alma's on my way home each day and it looked like it could be the spot. I ordered a test cake for our January birthdays - Carrot Cake and WOW! The first thing that won me over was the phone call with Alma; the second was meeting and speaking with her in person in her bakery, and third, but not least, was the deliciousness of the cake. Between my passion for people and for supporting local, minority owned businesses, I'm sold on Alma's Cakes! Keep up the great work, Alma, you lovely soul!

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
