I was super nervous and didn't know what to expect (will it hurt, etc) but I booked my first session 2 days after my surgery and made it to the appointment in their beautiful Mill Valley Location. Yes- you really can go a day or two after surgery. Jordana was wonderful - she was very kind and eased my nerves immediately, even though I was 30 minutes late (whoops.) The massage was very gentle, not painful at all- and afterwards she advised on my compression garments and sent me on my way feeling so much better and with a lot more mobility than when I hobbled in. A few days later I saw Stefanie in the San Francisco location- she was also wonderful- but I ended up mostly going up to Mill Valley for the rest because the location is more convenient from where I live (and has free parking :) I'm not sure where I'd be without Jordana at this point-probably a ball of anxiety and nerves which apparently isn't good for recovery. It's been amazing to see someone consistently who can tell me if everything is looking and healing OK, and help adjust the compression when needed. I've also tried yoga a handful of times in a class setting, but again couldn't commit. Enter Dana. Working with her for the past month has been revelatory. Her gentle, expert yoga guidance has helped me begin to feel the embodiment that I'm confident leads to long-term healing. The benefits of 1:1 instruction are huge.
